Fallen Prodigy (3/3)

Cal left Ku's home and took the transport back home, he then received a call from his boss telling him to come to the workshop.

Cal: do I have to?

Venom: Yes, there's someone here that wants to talk to you so I suggest you get your butt moving.

Cal had no choice but to go back to the workshop, he then came across a stranger who looked different from anyone else that he had come across. "Excuse me, do you speak English?" Cal shook his head to say yes, "I'm looking for a man named Venom Art, know him?" Cal froze and asked, "why?" The stranger replied, "he has something to do with an invasion that occurred here, and just by looking at it, I was too late to arrive, so... Know him?" Cal replied, "I can take you to him but I was told to go and see him, I'll take you there at least."

"Most kind of you." Cal then took the stranger but when they reached the workshop, the stranger got him right in the head and left him unconscious, when Cal woke up, he saw that the market around him was going up in flames. Thousands of people were trying to pull it out but reasonably abandon them as they were running from something. "Cal! Wake up! We need to get out of here quick!" Cal rose and saw that the workshop explode right in front of him, Cal looked around him and saw that there were hundreds of dead bodies lying around. Cal followed the direction that the people were going and realized that it wasn't the town that was being destroyed, the whole planet was about to explode, many of the residents rented out ships to escape, "sorry folks but unless you have your ships, you will die as this planets about to explode.

The remaining people couldn't believe what they had to hear. "Cal! I've got Ku but the ship that he had just exploded and now we are stuck here, I don't know about you but... I think it's time that we die!" Cal slapped Marshall and said, "calm down there soldier, there is still a chance for us to find a way, we just need a plan or a miracle of some sort." Then a gigantic ship landed and someone came out of the ship and said, "well what are you waiting for? Come on, you're all enrolled in the International Space Federation now get in all of you." The remaining people entered the ship including Cal. They were told to wait until any further instructions were told, "how are you holding up?" Marshall replied, "Doing fine, just can't believe that something like this happen, I mean I have been on different planets and lots of them are always dangerous and I had to risk losing many of my friends because of some Verus, man I just wish I can be somewhere I can't be disturbed let alone have to kill people for it." Cal stated, "it was always on Bêdyia but having to (learn) about new things other than just Bêdyia, sorry, I think I'll just nap for a while." Cal woke up to find himself all alone but he thought he saw Ku walking, "that's strange." Cal decided to follow him until one of the doors wouldn't open, Cal turned around and saw that he wasn't on the ship anymore but somewhere where there was a bright light and something that was walking away from him. The door then slammed shut in front of him, he tried to open it only to find a big surprise.

"You are failing my boy." Cal stepped back feared of the image that he was seeing in front of him, "you must outnumber fear to overcome bravery." Cal then tried to run away from 'whoever he was running away from' until he was concerned and had to face an old face, "the galaxy is now in your hands my student." Cal was then levitating, "Mentor I ..." Cal woke up to a sudden crash, "what's going on?" Marshall replied, "I think we're here." Cal and Marshall helped Ku get up as he didn't even have a chance to properly recover. "Welcome recruits, I am the Quill and I will be your instructor as you job our forces against the wicked traitor, Network, but before we begin, is there anyone who wishes not to take place in the force?"

Nobody felt like saying yes, "good, let us proceed, the course you see here are ways in which you must have a provision in proceeding with this mission, we can not afford failure, right here, is where you shall begin your training in seeing what rank you will be in to ensure that the best will fight alongside us... Begin!" All of them grabbed a fake blaster and started to shoot at one another, Ku was the first to be eliminated, after 45 minutes, only 7 of the 69 abandoned people were remaining and they included Cal and Marshall, "Code the boy in the black shaggy hair as 'Code 5555' while the blonde short-haired one as 'Code 1726' these recruits have earned their place in our ranks." Both Cal and Marshall have equal scores, "I'm going to win this Cal!" Cal replied, "kiss that dirty stand hello." As they were coming to the last two, Marshall and Cal were stopped by Quill.
