Chapter 12:

War Unravels (3/3)

The Zypher: The Four Season

Cal woke up to find himself next to Phen, he didn't seem to care and stood up and stretched, when the others woke up, they found themselves too "drunk" to stand up and they kept on falling, "man that was one wild party... What the... What's this?" Cal had found some blue goo that was leading... Cal was then attacked by a Zenthezine (a spider-like bird that is carnivorous and at a rare time cannibalistic) but it failed to attack Cal as the Archmain punched the Zenthezine back and straight onto its goo, Cal could see that it was burning from the goo meaning that their goo is their weakness, the Zenthezine fled ensuring that it would be back. Cal went to examine the goo when the figure had returned, "you must be... Cal... A pleasure to meet you again my comrade, I see that you did a good job in defeating the fleet but it isn't over just yet, unfortunately, I am here to help, in return, you help me."

"You are?" Cal was already sceptical about who or what he could be but in seeing this person offer assistance despite knowing that he does owe Cal for helping him. "(Sigh) I know what you're thinking young one, you are already sceptical about who or what I could be but in seeing me offer assistance despite knowing that I do owe you for helping me, as much I prefer destruction, I will not let these people suffer as I have, so the only question is... Will you help me?" Cal reluctantly agreed despite knowing that what he could wish to have could lead to the destruction of something.

"Excellent but first I suggest we take care of your little infestation. These Zenthezine are impervious to their goo but they are also weak to the Hymeno Locust (a Locust-like parasite that infects the Zenthezine to ensure its eggs and when they hatch, they force the Zenthezine to make a special cocoon for them, the Zenthezine is later killed off and used as food) as they are devious and can infect anything and anyone but they choose the Zenthezine because of their goo." Cal knew that it was a good idea but thought that it would not be a good idea, "isn't there any other way?" The stranger looked very surprised by what Cal said, "what possible thing could there be that can stop a Zenthezine?" Cal didn't know what the answer could be but knew that using a parasite to do his work was not the right thing to do. "If I may, if not using the Hymeno, then I suggest we use its goo against itself."

"I want to say that isn't a good idea but it will do since using a parasite is a cowardly move, maybe if we used its goo, we can weaken it enough to tale it down." The stranger felt confused about what Cal said but agreed nonetheless, Phen woke up to find Cal talking to the stranger, she gasped and pointed her gun at him, "don't even think about it Nizhalgal, yeah I know of you and I know what you are as a danger, Cal you can not trust him, he is the shadow demon, and he was the one who destroyed Bêydia." Cal looked at the stranger and asked, " Is this true?" He gave in and told Cal everything, "yes I destroyed Bêydia but I had my reason, I am Rekxzan Dartha, the Nizhalgal and I am ... Your mentor." Cal's jaw dropped at what he listened to, "that can not be true, my mentor died years ago... At the battle of... Wait."

Cal had trouble remembering, "you don't remember? Of course, you don't, I got rid of your memories." Cal stepped away from Rekxzan, "why did you..." Rekxzan walked away, "maybe you're not ready to know yet." Before leaving, Rekxzan threw something on the ground and after further inspection, it flashed, Cal found himself standing up and had no clue what was going on. "I don't know what's happening but what I do know is that we have to find a way out of here."

"How are we even going to find a way out of here? We have no ship and the ship Markuz took us in is taken off." Phen then asked Cal about knowing the ship taking off, "I remember some masked figure that came at thanked me and that he owes me, the next thing I knew, he ran off to the direction of the ship."

Phen realised something, "I found myself on the ground and I saw the ship go with my own two eyes, that was when I thought I saw... Him." She must've been talking about the figure, "he was there... Could it? It had to be him... It had to." Cal was too busy trying to decipher what she was saying until one of the Archmain pointed Cal and Phen to a ship they had found, "these marks, this looked to be from... 16 years ago... But that's impossible." Cal didn't understand why that was impossible and Phen explained it to him, "at the time, on this planet, it was always cautious to arrive on this planet so many wouldn't have gone by then, it was until 10 years before that people would visit." Cal understood what she was saying now, "so this means... Someone was here way before us but the only question is... Who are they?"
