Chapter 6:

6. The Yeti is a lucky pervert

The devil next door doesn't want to hold back anymore

White.

I was surrounded by pure white.

The blizzard was raging intensely.

This...is a dream.

Although I was in my pajamas, I didn't feel the cold.

My body was walking through the plain of snow with difficulty.

No matter how far I traveled, the scenery did not change.

Suddenly, something shiny caught my attention.

As I got closer, I realized that it was submerged in snow.

I started digging, but no matter how hard I tried, I didn't seem to be getting any closer.

When I was about to give up, I saw the figure of a person.

For some strange reason, their smile was familiar.

Swimming through the snow, they grabbed the object and handed it to me.

To the touch, it felt like something metallic.

Suddenly, the person opened their mouth.

* BEEP * * BEEP * * BEEP * *.

This... was my alarm clock.

Opening my eyes, I got up to interrupt the annoying noise.

It was 6:31, a minute later than my usual time.

I noticed that my body was more numb than usual, perhaps due to yesterday.

Thinking back to that, I grabbed my cell phone.

The fact that I had a girlfriend...was true.

Sighing deeply at the unexpected annoyance that had come my way, I began to get ready for school.

After finishing breakfast, I grabbed my usual two bags (one for school and a gym bag where it contained several changes of clothes and everything I needed for my part-time jobs) and walked out of my apartment.

As I did so, it was inevitable that I would think of my neighbor.

Unconsciously, my body headed for her door.

"..."

Even though I became her boyfriend, does it make sense to do this...?

Looking for an excuse, I looked at my cell phone.

It was 7:45.

I needed five minutes to get to the train station, fifteen minutes of transportation, and finally another ten minutes to get to the school.

I won't waste too much time...right?

Sighing, I decided to ring the doorbell.

Hearing the electronic sound from outside the apartment, I was sure I wasn't ringing a malfunctioning doorbell.

Unexpectedly, I received no response.

Has she already left?

Looking at yesterday's conversation, I noticed that my message was still "unread".

"..."

Why was I worrying about her...?

I rang one more time.

If she doesn't answer, I'm going straight to school.

Contrary to my expectations, the door opened.

"Who is it at this time of the morning...?"

Shibata's voice was clearly sleepy.

"Shibata, it's time to..."

But when I noticed her attire, I no longer remembered why I had come to wake her up.

Shibata was wearing a simple t-shirt with the image of a girl in anime-style.

Nothing else.

Since my height was slightly taller than Shibata's, I could catch a glimpse of something I shouldn't have, while the bottom half... was completely exposed.

The white legs were in bare contact with the cold wind that was coming through the open door.

When Shibata became aware of my presence, she seemed to freeze.

"... Fujita...?"

The door closed instantly.

From outside, I could hear Shibata's muffled cries of embarrassment.

"..."

I'd better run.

Without even taking a step, the door opened again, slightly.

This time, I could only see one eye from the small gap created.

"...Wait for me."

Closing the door again, I didn't know what to do.

I looked at my cell phone.

7:49.

It seems like today will be the first day I'll be late.
