Mission School Commence

“And how long will it take to finish?” I asked my retainer.

He didn’t answer. I spent one hour away on earth and my retainer has already become disobedient.

“Beesha!!!” I yelled his name in anger. I was probably flaming too. This is a physiological problem. My anger immediately takes the form of fire. Luckily, I had earth designers make fireproof clothing for me using the souls of the damned so it is not that troublesome anymore. Still, I would love to sometimes do without the fiery eyes and flaming body.

Seeing my anger, the bull immediately bowed and started asking for forgiveness. “I am sorry my lord, I was so enchanted by your greatness, that I lost myself in it. Soon the residential complex will be ready and we will have so much space leftover. I was thinking of making parks and other attractions. Those Gods always look down upon us for our realm is not as beautiful as theirs.”

Oh! That’s a nice thought. We could have parks and rivers as well. The rivers that we have, are flowing with magma. Not that they aren't beautiful but I would love to have something colder every once in a while.

I was about to praise Beesha for his wonderful idea when the snake interrupted me.

“My lord, You have to come to see this immediately,” the snake hissed.

“I am the lord of all of the underworld. There is nothing that I have to…”

“It’s about the great lord,” the snake interrupted.

“Let’s go then, what are we waiting for.” Can’t keep him waiting. I got up from my throne, and turned to Beesha, “You carry on with that idea of yours. Make good use of these damned humans.”

Beesha bowed in affirmation.

I hurried to my chambers. There was a monitoring device with a video feed already running. It was showing the moment when Our Lord, let us call him Kana, his human name, from hereafter, introduced himself to that girl’s classmates.

“Why are you showing me this? We already watched that. He is off to a very good start.” I asked the snake, who I had assigned to the duty of monitoring Kana’s every action.

“Yes he was off to a really good start but things stagnated after that.”

“What do you mean? This should be a piece of cake for him.”

“I am sorry my lord, For my inability to explain this,” the snake bowed, “Please allow me to show you.”

After that, we both stared into the screen.

The video was showing Kana taking his seat. I had already made all the arrangements beforehand. He was assigned a seat right next to the target girl named Saya. All he had to do was casually go to her and introduced himself as his savior from this morning. And then everything would sort itself out.

I was watching with excitement. Seeing my idol doing such a measly task was so much fun.

Kana sat down on his seat. He didn’t say anything to the girl. Maybe he is pausing to not make it look forced. He is thinking ahead to the future already. As expected of the greatest Lord.

Two minutes passed, and Kana still didn’t say anything to the girl. The entire class had eyes on him. Well, I gotta give it to the girl, She imagined one hell of a cute body for My lord. He was looking so handsome yet he had such a feminine glow on his face that creates feelings in the other students that they themselves can’t understand.

Okay, It's been twenty minutes now, The class is also not looking at him anymore, This is the perfect time to talk to the girl. Come on, my lord. Seize the moment.

It was as if, Kana heard my inner monologue. He suddenly turned to the girl and yes yes, he is about to do it.

The girl noticed him as well, she turned to him to hear what he has to say.

One second passed, and nothing happened.

Two seconds passed, and still, nothing happened.

“Oi Snake! Is this video buffering? What shitty connection are you using? How many times have I told you to get a better service provider.” Just what do I pay these idiots for? What would those gods say, if they found out that hell’s Wifi is weak?

“Come on! Refresh the feed quickly.”

“My Lord! Hell’s Wifi is the finest in this universe. Even the gods are jealous of this Wifi.”

“Then why the video has frozen”

“It's not the video that has frozen. The Great Lord himself has frozen.”

“That can’t be possible. Did someone put him under some spell? Even then, He is the most powerful being, No spell can even scratch him.”

“My lord, allow me to explain”, The snake continued, “Remember, Kana’s Body is entirely human with almost no divinity in it.”

“YES”

“Which means all laws declared by lady Gaia, apply to him as well. In this case, since he has never spoken to a woman, his pre-pubescent body is under the effect of Adrenaline which has put him in fight or flight mode.”

“My Kana, bound by the natural law. This is blasphemy. Find me a way to overcome this.”

“Yes My lord! I have just finished reading everything about the laws declared by lady Gaia.”

“So what have you found?”

“We can make use of something called ‘Practice’ or ‘Experience’.”

“...”

“The great Lord needs to collect experience to increase his self-confidence points so that he can talk to a girl.”

“Then..” I was about to say something when I got interrupted by this snake. Someday I would kill him for interrupting me so much.

“But My Lord, Today is already over. We have taken more damage than we possibly could recover. The points gained by the amazingly hyped-up class introduction are all lost by remaining frozen in fear.”

“FEAR! Don't even dare use such words for HIM”

“Forgive me My Lord, But the class already thinks of Lord Kana as a weirdo or a creep.”

“Then I will eliminate the entire class.”

“How about you enroll in the same class, my lord. You can be the support of Lord kana when he is at his most vulnerable.”

The snake said something that never came to my mind. This way I could be of use to my lord as well as be with him at all times.

“Yes! For this idea, You will be rewarded you, venomous creature,” I was overjoyed by this, “Prepare a 12-year-old body for me. I am going to the mortal realm.”

I was standing before Kana’s school principal office. The teacher I blackmailed earlier to produce all the paperwork for kana, was now preparing documents for me. He must be honored to work for the two greatest beings of this entire universe.

“All right, Mr. …..”

“Vasu, I will let you call me Vasu,” I bestowed him with the honor of calling me by my first name. After all, he did a lot of work for me. I have a soft spot for people who can finish their paperwork. Maybe I will take him to hell with me after he finishes his life here on earth. We are quite understaffed there.

“Okay ….” He looked at me funny, “Mr. Vasu, I don’t know who you are but your dad has given me a lot of trouble these past two days. I hope you will follow the same path,” He assumed that the 12-year-old version of me is the son of my normal human avatar. Well, It will work as a good explanation in itself. Let’s go with that.

“Following is peasants’ job, I was born to rule.”

“Peasants, huh…” He looked towards the ceiling, “Great! Another weirdo in class. I am way too underpaid for this.”

Well, it's not unusual for humans to consider something weird if they don’t understand it fully. Guess, I will have to ignore this ignorant behavior just so that I can be of use to my lord.

“Okay, now take me to where My Kana is,” I was excited.

“Uh-huh sure”, The teacher wondered something to himself. He wanted to ask me something, probably about kana, but he decided to keep quiet.

I was taken to the classroom where my lord and his targets were. I entered the classroom and greeted the humans in a fairly polite way but got mixed reactions.

All I said was, “Greetings peasants! Be delighted that I will be joining you in your worthless lives from today. Since I am in a very good mood today, I will allow all of you to address me by the name ‘Vasu’.”

A few girls in the class were already whispering something like, “Oh what a hottie”

Most of the others were saying stuff like “Isn’t he a character!” I didn’t understand what that means, I will have to study humans and their common terminology of speaking a little.

!@#$% came to class today. Oh well, I can’t even take his name in my monologues, great. Luckily, He has taken care of it himself, let’s call him by the name he chose for himself.

So Vasu came to class today. I guess seeing me fail miserably yesterday must have worried him a lot. In my defense, It doesn’t happen to me every day. I was rewoken only two days ago and brought back to this world.

The last time, I walked on this planet, things were a lot different. There were different civilizations and different species of humans living here. This world has changed a lot.

Vasu introduced himself to the class, in a very… unique way, that’s one way to say it. His narcissistic tendencies haven’t changed at all. I can’t blame him though, He is the king of an entire realm so it would be natural for him to get that mindset. However, I hope he can tone it down a bit, otherwise, people would start hating him.

“Looks like we gotta show him his place after class,” a group of students was whispering amongst themselves. Vasu is already making enemies.

Seeing him making enemies on his first day, reminded me of his childhood. I remember how he threw rocks at one of the other children when I introduced him to them. Why? Because they didn’t bow down to him while greeting him. Fortunately, the other kids dodged the rocks but the same can’t be said for the dinosaurs, who actually got hit.

Vasu has always been pretty peculiar about hierarchy and rankings. I think it was a fault in my upbringing.

After his introduction, the teacher told Vasu to take his seat.

Vasu walked up to the seat to the right of me in the third row from the window.

“Oi, Go sit somewhere else,” he said to the student who was sitting there, “Hurry up!”

The little kid was frightened and left his seat immediately. The teacher saw this exchange but kept quiet. I also wanted to say something but couldn’t find the right words. A similar thing happened yesterday too. I turned to Saya, the girl who summoned me. I wanted to greet her, but couldn’t find the right words.

Strangely enough, I spoke well, during my introduction but couldn’t speak anything after that. Now that I am thinking about it, I haven’t spoken anything since my introduction.

Thinking a little, I realized the problem, With each passing moment, I am losing what little divinity I have left, and since I have never lived in this human body, My body is like an infant. If I don’t make friends with Saya soon, I might soon start to go out of existence.

Being human is tough.

Vasu took his seat, He looked happy. Very happy actually. During the entire class, he kept whispering one or the other thing. The other students looked pretty annoyed at that. But that didn’t bother him at all.

He kept going on and on about how he came down here to help me get my divinity back. He also told me how he has such elaborate plans that would make me revered by this entire class in no time. The teacher pretty much ignored him along with the rest of the class.

I also have to focus on Saya first. I will have to make her remember that I came to her help and make her believe in me. Let's think about Vasu later.

As soon as recess started, Saya left the classroom. I followed after her but she vanished into thin air. Where could she have gone? I was about to go look for her when I got stopped by Vasu.

“Let’s go to the cafeteria and enjoy some of the human food,” Vasu's words sounded like chirping. He was enjoying himself. I wanted to decline because I had to find Saya, but seeing his happy face in such a long time, I gave in.

“You know, since the last time you were here, humans have developed some amazing delicacies. I have heard, that even those arrogant gods also come to earth frequently in disguise just to taste the food.”

Now that is rude. Don’t call your friends Arrogant. I wanted to say that but can’t be careless with my divinity. I have to pursue Saya after this.

We entered the cafeteria and…

Looks like Lady Gaia was favoring me a little. Saya was there in the cafeteria, sitting at a table enjoying lunch with another girl. She didn’t look like someone from our class.

While Vasu kept on going about how good human food is and how he has brought a lot of human chefs into his realm so that he can enjoy the food away from the eyes of the gods, I was focused on Saya.

I couldn’t think of what to do. Maybe I should go and talk to her, but I won’t be able to speak so that is a bad idea.

I wanted to use Vasu as a mediator but his behavior since this morning must have already made a bad impression on her mind.

Suddenly, I got an idea. I tried to focus a little harder. I used a big part of what’s left of my divinity and use it to read Saya’s mind.

I focussed a little harder, And I started hearing sounds. Please be something good. Something that can help me.

“Should I ask her to buy juice again?” I heard her thoughts.

I assumed she want juice.

I looked around and Vasu had just brought two trays filled with food. It was filled with, I am assuming, everything that was sold in the cafeteria. There were two cans of orange juice as well.

Just what I needed.

I grabbed one can and ran towards Saya. Vasu stood there puzzled. He will figure it out soon, … probably.

“Hey! Vini, Go and…” She was about to say something to her friend, but I arrived at her table.

Both the girls looked at me. I put the can on the table, and then slowly slid it towards her.

Saya looked at the can then looked back at me, then looked at the can again.

I realized that she hadn’t understood a single thing, so I tried to make some hand gestures.

“Just speak directly,” Saya looked annoyed, “What do you want?”

Great! She is angry now, what do I do.

“Maybe it's a game,” The beautiful girl sitting with Saya spoke.

“What kind of game?” asked Saya, still annoyed.

“A game where you get the orange juice as a prize if you understand what he is saying. A charades game with a prize.”

“What? Why the sudden game?”

“You will only know the answer to that if you win.”

“Okay, whatever! Do your gestures again”, Saya turned towards me, and this time she looked at me with determined eyes.

While that wasn’t my intention, It was still better than nothing and I also had a chance now to tell Saya that I was her savior when she was being chased by the dog. Thank you, the beautiful friend of Saya.

I try to act out running but...

“You want to join the Athletics club?” Saya guessed.

I nodded in denial immediately.

I tried acting like running fast.

“You want to go to the toilet?”

I denied it again. This was not working.

This time I tried acting fearful and then gestured to run.

“Is someone chasing you?” Well, She was not correct this time either but maybe this can work.

I nodded in agreement. But to make her realize that she was being chased I pointed to her body.

“Me?” she said.

I nodded in agreement.

“Oh I get it,” she exclaimed.

She understood that it was her who was chased yesterday. And after this, I would act out a dog and she will understand everything. Perfect, Now I can see hope. Thank you, lady Gaia.

Meanwhile, her friend and the entire crowd of the cafeteria were looking at me jumping like a monkey in the middle of the hall. Some even had their phones out recording my dance. I didn’t have the luxury of worrying about them. My life was at stake here. And I was entering the endgame now.

I gracefully acted like a rabid dog in my final charades acting.

Saya got up from her seat and put her hand on my shoulder. “He he! I have understood what you wanted to convey.”

What a smart girl!!!

“You are being chased by those barbaric bullies of our class, and you want me to protect you.”

What a DUMB BITCH!!!!! I know, Language but seriously, WHAT A DUMB BITCH.

“And as my protection fees, You will offer me orange juice every day. Right?” She declared her scenario and grabbed the juice can as her trophy. I couldn’t say anything to that.

The recess bell rang. Lunch was over. Everyone started moving back to their classes. Saya and her friend also got up to leave. I guess it’s over now. Soon they will go back to their classes. I won’t be able to tell her anything in class as I have already lost my ability to speak. At this rate, I would start vanishing in a few minutes.

Seeing me dejected, Vasu started walking toward me. I gestured for him to stop. Fortunately, He understood and stopped right where he was.

At that moment, I lost all hope. Saya had no idea who was the person who saved her, which means right now she has no faith in me. I guess I will be disappearing again soon.

I looked towards Vasu. Sorry, Vasu. I won’t be staying this time either.

Maybe he understood what I was thinking because his expressions also changed immediately.

Both girls went away while whispering something to each other.

Everyone has gone back to their classes. We both were the only people remaining in the cafeteria.

I didn’t see any value in going to the class again. It would cause a lot of chaos if I started vanishing in the middle of lectures.

I looked at Vasu again. He understood that I didn’t want to go to class anymore.

“Let’s go outside,” he said, “I will show you some places that are much more fun than this boring building where you have to just sit in one room the entire time.”

Maybe I should spend my last minutes with him. He must have waited so long to meet me again. If only I could get the girl to have even a little belief in me, I would have enjoyed so much more time with him.

Anyway, there is no point in crying over spilled milk. Even gods as old as me, are nothing compared to the power of fate.

I gestured for Vasu to leave and we left the school building. The guard might have stopped us from exiting the school campus but Vasu did something and everyone bowed when we left.

We were at the school entrance now. I was taking a look at the building where I spent the last two days. They may not have been long enough but I wish they were.

Suddenly I felt something rubbing my leg. I looked down. It was the dog from yesterday morning. The dog that caused the entire thing. I owed my time here on earth, however short it was, to this dog.

The animal was showing affection for me. I knew Vasu would be jealous if I petted the dog, but still, I should show my gratitude.

I lowered myself to my knees and petted the dog. It started licking me all over my face. It was ticklish.

“Eyy, Stop it, It's ticklish,” I thought to myself, Only difference was that thoughts took the form of words that came out of my mouth.

I was surprised at this sudden realization. I have received some more of my divinity back.

I immediately looked towards the school building and …

I was bored in this class so I looked outside the window. I mean What is the use of an anime seat other than gazing outside.

So I was looking outside and saw a boy there. I focussed a little and realized it was Kana. The student who was just with me at the cafeteria. What is he doing outside the school? He stood at the entrance looking toward the school.

And suddenly, the dog from yesterday came to him and started rubbing his body against his leg.

Wait, what was he trying to tell me in the cafeteria.

His first was chasing.

Then he pointed at me.

Then he acted out a violent action, but now that I think, he may also have meant violent dog.

Oh, I was being chased by the dog, and only people other than me and Vini were the boy who saved us.

So that's what he was trying to tell. He is the boy who saved us.

The moment I came to realize that the boy started glowing. I am not joking, he was glowing. The light was coming out of his body.

I rubbed my eyes and everything seemed normal this time. I looked at the boy in the distance again. This time he looked back and our eyes met.
