Chapter 5:

Intermission I

Blind

Hello, and welcome to the first intermission of the battle harem series Blind by everybody’s favorite, B.A Thomson!

So originally Blind was supposed to be a normal love story between a boy and a girl (sort of). The main premise would have been a young man who would have found an abandoned cat and as time grew, both the man and the cat would have formed a strong bond to the point the cat would of then change into a female human. Then from there they would try to date as the story progressed and they would have to deal with the harsh challenges of being together in this unusual situation.

I wanted to take a break from writing the shonen type stories and dabble into romance to further expand my writing. But as I was developing the characters and setting I began adding more and more action to the storyline which at a point it became another shonen type story (laughs)!

Now before we get into chapter four of the series I wanted answer some questions that some of you probably have at this point. Don’t worry, none of them are spoilers so you can rest easy, so let’s get started, shall we?

Q. Why does Elias make so many references to anime and video games when in reality he just wants to have a normal life?

I intentionally wanted to add that to Elias character because I wanted to show how ironic it is for someone who wants a normal life to talk about unrealistic comparisons. Of course as the story progress’s you’ll start to understand the meaning behind his references.

Q. Why is that we the readers know what Alexia looks like but we never see what Elias or his family appears like?

Even though Elias is the main character I wanted the readers to draw their attention more on Alexia because of the situation she’s facing rather than Elias since he kind of riding along this odd problem Alexia dealing with. Plus I wanted the reader to decide what Elias and his family to appear like because I feel with most readers, they intend to put themselves inside the main character. I wanted to recapture that magic for reader’s purposes (laughs).

Q. So what is Kegare? Is it a demon or not?

Yes technically, Kegare are demons but they come from humans rather than heaven. In terms of religion, demons are usually formed from fallen angels that have been expelled from heaven but Kegare are formed from the sins of humans. In my opinion, I feel the human mind can be wounded and corrupt easily. In my life I’ve always seen these “demons” corrupt the best of people and I wanted to implement that concept into the story.

Well this concludes the first intermission of Blind and I hope I answer most of the questions you had currently. If you guys have any more questions relating to Blind you can neither comment on the Intermission I page or comment on my profile. Until then guys, take care and I’ll see you next time on the second intermission, and be on the lookout for Chapter 4. Bye!
