Colonel Yuan Min

Lan Du found the atmosphere more and more unbearable as time passed, her mother wouldn't stop asking her friends questions, especially about their relationships.

"Is Du'er treating you three well, he is so cold to me, did you know?"Lan Xin said as she placed one hand on her face and said with a depressed face.

Lan Du sighed

"Mother, stop messing around, your questions are making things uncomfortable for them"Lan Du said

Lan Xin paid her no mind and turned to Xie Ying and Xie Jing

"You two are twins right?"

The two nodded

Lan Xin smiled and asked

"If Lan Du has to marry someone, which one of you two will go for him?Or maybe...both?"She said as she gave them both an excited look.

The two blushed, the conversation got more and more into the future as it went on.Lan Du's three room mates sat there talking with each other, as Lan Du rambled about her mother's questions.

"How about you two just call me mother in law"Lan Xin suddenly said

silence...

Even Lan Du who thought she was prepared for anything was caught off guard by her mother's words.What do you mean call you mother in law?I'm still a girl, this won't work out!

Xie Jing and Xie Ying was about to say something when Lan Xin stopped them

"Never mind"she said

Lan Du let out a sigh of relief as the Xie sisters seemed a bit dejected.

But Lan Xi suddenly opened her mouth yet again

"The red haired there also looks adorable, maybe all three of you should call me that"she said with a proud expression.

Lan Du wanted to jump out the car at this moment, her mother was getting more and more wild.

"Mother!"she shouted, hoping for Lan Xin to stop.

The three girls began blushing but didn't know how they should answer this question, they wanted to say yes but they also didn't.

Lan Xin giggled and continued to drive without saying anything else.But she had a big smile on her face as they went on.

Fatty, Tie Shan and Ling Shou were listening to their conversations on the side, their ears perked up and their eyes wide opened as Lan Xin told them to call her mother in law.

"I apologise for my mother's words, she sometimes just say these type of things out of no where"Lan Du wanted to hide herself at this point, but her mother is someone she could not win against.

Xie Jing and Xie Ying found it odd, Lan Du always seems to tease them, but in front of her mother, she seems very reserved.

Lan Du turned to them and smiled

'since mother won't drop this topic, I guess I can play along'

Lan Du thought, maybe accepting her mother's idea might be better, she found it hard to bear to stay with a man in the future who might leave like hers.She didn't want the girls to experience the same thing so...maybe.

Xie Jing and Xie Ying let out a deep sigh, they quite like it when Lan Du was more carefree so they found it hard to start a conversation.

Lan Du chuckled

"Letting out a sigh like that, could it be...you two missed my teasing?"Lan Du said as she leaned a bit forward as said into their ears.

They suddenly flushed red and felt their hearts jump.

"n-no"they said together

Lan Du smiled

"ah, that hurts my little heart, to think you two hate me"Lan Du faked a pained expression and said with grief

The two became more flustered and found it hard to explain

"no, we don't hate you"they said, trying to make things better

Lan Xin by the side had her eyes wide open in shock, her daughter, her dear daughter is flirting!

"Oh, so you two like me then?"Lan Du gave them the look of a puppy and asked

The two instinctively replied with "yes" seeing that look, only to realise what has happened and began fumbling their every words.

Lan Du began laughing, Hong Ling also joined in after hearing Lan Du.

"You two are so bold, pushing him down onto the bed wasn't enough, you two still proposed to him in front of his mother, how bold"she said with a shy expression.

Lan Du nodded her head

"yes, I didn't know you two could be so daring, but I don't mind"

The Xie sisters wanted to jump out the car, they couldn't defend themselves and could only blush in response to all the teasing.

Lan Xi paused and the car suddenly screeched across and stopped in front of their house.

Lan Du looked out out and smiled

"To think just two days away would make me miss this place so much"

After they got out, Lan Du led them into the house, but Lan Xin behind them had a weird and shocked expression.

'Du'er was pushed down by those two girls...'

Lan Du led the six into her room, which was pretty plain, there was nothing much inside except for a bed, shelf and a desk.There was also a closet by the side, filled with her clothes.

When they came in, they were honestly a bit disappointed as they were expecting her room to be more extravagant and grand.

"I like simple things"she said in response to their disappointed look.

They smiled wryly and began chatting.Tie Shan got to know the girls relatively well since he has a decent character, however, Ling Shou and fatty found it a bit harder to hold a conversation with them as they had a problematic...eyes.

They would shift their eyes to the girl's chests once in a while making them not want to approach them.Lan Du laughed and slapped Tie Shan's back.

"Tie Shan, don't let the two corrupt you, if you let them do so, say goodbye to your chances in speaking to the girls"she said with a big smiled

Tie Shan nodded and gave her a determined look.

"I will even avoid them if I have to"he said determinedly

Fatty and monkey both cursed at him under their breaths

"Damn, hoes before bros, Tie Shan you traitor"they shouted

Lan Du raised her fist and knocked down on their heads

"Quiet down, shout like that again and I throw you two out"she said sternly, making the two shut up immediately.

Xie Jing and Xie Ying were having a conversation with Hong Ling, the laughed at some point and were shocked at others.When Lan Du shuffled in to listen, she too was shocked by their conversation.

"Did you know, it was reported that Colonel Yuan Min has successfully captured another foreign planet"Hong Ling said with excitement

"Really, which one did he capture?"asked Xie Ying

Hong Ling said with a serious face

"He captured...Demon planet 4"

The two were shocked by her words, Lan Du was also shocked, not because of the colonels accomplishments, but the fact that this was the first time she even had news about the man...her father.

Lan Du sat next to them.

"what is colonel Yuan...like?"Lan Du asked

Xie Jing smiled and said

"Colonel Yuan Min is like a hero in the eyes of the civilians, he has stopped three wars and captured 2 planets on his own!"She said with eyes full of admiration.

Lan Du gritted her teeth, the more she listened, the more she hated him.If he was so great, why is he never around?

"Go on"she said as she clenched her fists"she tried to keep a casual look as she said so they won't suspect anything.

"I heard that colonel Yuan also saved hundreds of lives from a terrorist attack, he repelled them all with a few other people, many people sees him as an idol from that point"said Xie Ying

Lan Du smiled coldly as she listened, Hong Ling noticed something and pointed it out

"Lan Du, you seem to be acting weird ever since we brought up the topic on colonel Yuan Min"she said with a concerned look.

Lan Du gave her an innocent look as she asked

"What do you mean?I am just fine"she says as she put up a big smile

It was then when the Xie sisters said

"lies, Lan Du, we might have only met for a short while, but we know it if you are really fine or not, you may have a good surface look but we can hear a tone shift in your voice"they said in unison.

The three guys at the side found it a bit odd that they can speak with each other so well, it was as if they could read each other's mind.

Lan Du smiled wryly

"You two were so observant?"she shook her head and sighed bitterly

Xie Ying and Xie Jing became worried, why is he acting weird when colonel Yuan was mention?He made it sound like he wanted to know him yet the more he heard, the weirder he became.

"Lan Du, is the reason connected to colonel Yuan?"asked Hong Ling

Lan Du began laughing to herself

"Isn't it funny?The hero everyone looks up to is hated by me"she laughed and leaned back on the wall.

Everyone had their mouths opened wide and their eyes almost popped out from how much it opened, why would Lan Du hate colonel Yuan?

"Lan Du, this.."Hong Ling said and stopped half way, she didn't know what she should ask under such circumstances.

"No need to ask anything, but there is no need to hide how much I hate him either, I detest him to the very bone"she said coldly.

Everyone looks up to him, yet he never even visits his family, was his job that important?Lan Du thought to herself, she may be selfish in her ways of thinking, but that man doesn't even know of her existence!Ne never mention her mother either when he was on the news, he never even said he had a family.

Lan Du used to also look up to him, she used to think that he was amazing, saving civilians and capturing a planet, but as time went by, she realised how cruel this society was against women.She would always see how cruel they were treated on the streets, fortunately, her mother was born from a good family so she didn't have to expose herself to that type of society.

But that didn't change the fact that her father left her in this type of society, the type that could turn a normal girl into a mess.The longer she waited for him, the more she hated, she has always only ever wanted to meet her father, but now, she doesn't want to even hear his name.

And the fact that he doesn't even contact her mother just made it worse, she would never accept that man as a father even if her ancestors asked her to.

"Lan Du, why do you hate him so much?"asked Fatty, he was also a fan of colonel Yuan since he has always been into military based subjects.

"I have my reasons, its like if I asked you, do you love your mother, you would say yes, as for me, if you asked if I like him, I would say no, no reason is needed for such questions, in my eyes, there is only ever friends or foe, there is never a middle"She said calmly, she was able to cool her head after taking a few deep breaths.

Lan Du smiled and said

"Don't let this bother you, I still treat you guys as friends no matter your choice"she said and patted Xie Ying's head.

The others smiled but Xie Jing pouted

Lan Du noticed and chuckled

"Jealous of your sister now?Alright, how about I give you a hug?"She said as she opened her arms up for Xie Jing and gestured for her to come hug her.

Xie Jing blushed and seemed quite tempted, Xie Ying laughed and held onto Lan Du's left arm.

"Sister, being hesitant isn't good now"she said as she stuck out her tongue

Xie Jing's hand trembled as she walked up and held onto Lan Du's other arm, she made sure she was careful as to not hurt Lan Du's hand.

Lan Du was baffled, since when was the two girls he always teased become so bold as to holding onto her arm?But she then took a closer look and noticed that their faces were more red than usual and their heart beats were increasing by the second.

Lan Du let out an awkward laugh and turned to the three guys and Hong Ling.

"um, a little help?"she said shyly

Suddenly, Lan Xin burst open the door and said with excitement

"I finished dinner, let's go...eat..."she stared at Lan Du with the Xie sisters wrapping their arms around her, her mind then went back to when Hong Ling said Lan Du were pushed down by these two girls on a bed.
