A Brand New World

Tonight felt off.

It was always during the day that they attacked, but for the first time ever, they are attacking the public at night.

"Pretty Strawberry, get you ass over here!"

Pretty Blueberry was fighting a monster the size of a house.

I fly over to her and blast the monster, but it won't budge.

"HA! Behold Magical girls, for our time has come, the final plan has been set in motion."

A black haired man in a black suit. The leader of the evil organization.

"I will finally achieve my goal of merging all of human consciousness, so that no one in the world will be lonely."

"Not today scum! The world's population should have the freedom of wanting to choose rather or not to pursue happiness of their own accord."

"That's why me and you magical girls can never see eye to eye, because you genuinely think that if given the choice, then those who desire companionship will seek it of their own free will. These humans need to be forced to be happy because they are too immature too unknowledgeable to find it for themselves."

"That's your problem. You don't put enough belief in your fellow humans to do things for themselves. If you really have enough love in your heart to want everyone to be happy, then why can't you at least have enough trust to believe that they are capable of being happy of their own accord."

"Because everyone is incompetent.

They are incompetent, yet I still love them."

"I think in another life we could have been friends. We think very similarly.

But you're a fool! SO I'LL BRING YOU DOWN RIGHT HERE!"

The other girls have joined me and Blueberry on the roof now.

Pretty Strawberry, Pretty Blueberry, Pretty Lemon, Pretty Kiwi, Pretty Grape.

We've all assemble for the final battle.

Together with our ultimate joint attack we blast the monster to pieces.

"ULTRA GIANT MEGA TART ATTACK!!!!!"

It's innards came falling down upon us.

"Well, it seems that I'll have to rely on my back up plan.

I'm sorry I have to do this, magical girls."

Everyone prepared for whatever was about to come next.

"I WON'T LET YOU!"

Blueberry jumped towards the man in black before he could do anything.

BANG

But she was too late.

The second her feet left the ground, a loud nosie rang throughout the area.

Everyone stood still. Stunned as to what that ear piecing sound was.

We all look over at Blueberry who was now on the ground.

Her usually blue dress seemed to have a hint of red in it.

The red grew larger and larger until it enveloped her entire torso.

It took me a second to realize, but I think I know what's going on now.

She was shot.

Her body was lying there lifeless.

Blueberry. 

No. 

Aoki.

"A-Aoki-chan? AOKI-CHAN!"

Lemon and Kiwi both act immediately.

Kiwi charges a blast while Lemon jumps forward at the man and black.

BANG

Looking up from Aoki-chan, I could see Lemon's body jerk back.

The man in black was holding onto her collar.

Her face....

Her face wasn't there.

In place of her face was a deep red hole extending through her head.

The man in black threw her body at Kiwi who jumped back.

Oh my god, what the hell am I doing.

Aoki-chan is dead, so I have to step up for once and be the real leader like I was supposed to be.

"ICHIGO, GET OUT OF YOUR GODDAMN HEAD AND HELP ME!"

Kiwi leaped into the sky.

Grape had fallen to the ground.

She was never good with handling people, and always kept to herself at school.

She never usually goes on missions like these because her anxiety tends to get in the way.

I need to step up.

"Alr-!"

A hand grabbed me.

"Aoki-chan?"

"Why..?"

"Your-"

"Why me? Why not you!? YOU PIECE OF SHIT!"

"Ao-Ao-Aoki-"

Kiwi fell from the sky, but not before launching a green beam at the man in black that ripped apart the roof.

"Midori-chan!"

Aoki-chan grabbed my shoulder to pick herself up.

She leaned her body on me.

She's unexpectedly light.

Her blood...

"Listen to me....Pretty Strawberry."

Her voice seemed deep and tired like she was about to go to sleep.

"Aoki-chan?"

"You always do this. You achieve everything off the back of everyone else's work. You're so lucky that it always works out for you."

STEP STEP

The man in black was walking through the smoke and rubble.

"This is the last favor I ever do for you. You better not let my pride get ruined. Now Take Grape and get out of here, I'll handle the man in black."

"But what about you?"

"I'm about to die, Ichigo."

"No. No. I'm taking you with me."

"FOR ONCE IN YOUR FUCKING LIFE LISTEN TO SOMETHING THAT SOMEONE ELSE SAYS AND STOP FUCKING EVERYTHING UP YOU USELESS CUNT!"

"Aoki-chan.....you're gonna make me cry..."

"Ichigo, you love you humans, right? Then please go and tell them that we were victorious in this battle against evil. That I was victorious in extinguishing evil.
