I can't save everyone

These gangsters are more careless than I thought. After ten minutes of being patient and careful, I'm finally here in front of the room where the I'm detecting Milli and the other captives. I turned the door knob expecting it to be locked but it just swung open. A good thing too since this room seems to be some sort of storage room so there aren't any windows, vents, or other possible entryways.

The interior is pitch black, with the light from me opening the door quickly fending off the darkness. I check Micro's camera just in case, but no one is looking our way or moving about. Most, if not all of them are simply lazing about or even sleeping. They probably assume no one would make a move during a flash storm.

Finding Milli among the androids bound, gagged, and tied up in the middle of the room is easy enough. I take a quick scan of the room to see if there are any cameras, alarms, or even traps. After confirming the room to be safe, I move quickly to Milli's side. The left side of her forehead is slightly exposed and her limbs are heavily scratched up but nothing serious.

I start undoing her blindfold but find myself momentarily frozen when I spot the droid in the dim corner in pieces. Most of their limbs and even their head are torn away from the rest of their body. They're not registering in the ARC either. They're completely nonfunctional.

With her blindfold removed, Milli's eyes widen as she recognizes me. I place a finger on my lips to tell her to stay quiet, then point that same finger to myself while mouthing the name 'Nano'. I remove the cloth she was gagged with then proceed to the ropes on her arms.

"You came to save me? They didn't catch you? Gin... What happened to Gin?"

I place a hand on her shoulder.

"Save the questions for when we get out of here. There's still gangsters out th-"

Through Micro I see one of them approaching the unconscious gangster I tased earlier.

"We have to go, now."

I stand up the moment I free her from her restraints and start walking towards the door.

"What? But what about..."

Milli looks around her. Our fellow androids are silent but their slight movements indicate they're trying to get a read of the situation themselves. Some even seem panicked or agitated.

"Milli, I came here for you. I can't save everyone. We'll figure something out once we escape."

Worry and hesitation cloud her face. At this rate, I won't have much choice but to either forcefully rescue Milli or confront over a dozen gangsters myself. I look around us while trying to think of a way to convince Milli. The room is dusty and filled with small boxes, tools, wooden pallets, and various other materials stored and forgotten. On the wall, I notice a breaker box.

"...Start untying them. I'll buy a bit of time, but when I give the signal, turn off the power."

I point at the breaker box and Milli's eyes follow. Micro flies to my side soon after I told him to return.

"Micro will stay with you and relay the signal."

Milli still looks anxious but manages to nod her head. I waste no time leaving the room and hiding behind cover. Without Micro I'm left to rely on my own eyes and device positioning. I move behind the crates, towards where the unconscious man should be. A woman with lime green hair is kneeling down and checking up on him. I bust out of cover and sprint straight to her.

"Hey!"

She pulls out a handgun but I swiftly grab her hand and push it up. She fires a few shots in the air before I land a gut punch followed by an uppercut with my free hand. With this, they should congregate on this spot. I can only tase people so many times before I run out of energy, so I'll have to make it count.

I move back behind the metal crates near the window I broke in through and look hastily at how the crates are piled up. Sensing their phones and cybernetics coming close, I keep myself still and silent. Nine of them, good. Footsteps, yelling, and the sounds of firearms being prepared make the air feel heavy. They're within range and have stopped moving. Through Micro I see Milli by the breaker box while the other androids are untying the other. I speak through Micro.

"Now."
