Volume 2 - Adventurer Training ①

It has been a few days since that revelation happened, and I've already regretted asking the two of them for help...

[Come on now, Emi-chan! You're still halfway there and 3 hours have already passed!]

Yes... I requested for the two of them to let me become an adventurer and they immediately turned down my request... I immediately tried to prove to the two of them a few days ago that I have what it takes to be an adventurer myself.

I was inside Mama Diana's office, sitting along with Mama Clara due to what I said to Mama Diana about her response to what I wanted to do. 

But with Mama Clara coming into the fray, it seems that it won't be practical...

[B-But...]

[No, Emi-chan. You can't be an adventurer.]

[Diana-sama's right. And it's not even something like your knowledge that's the limiting factor... It's your physique as well. You don't have enough mana nor mana control to do magic. You're not even 6 years old yet! So your body's not well-suited to hold a heavy sword. for your job class..]

[If that's the case, I might as well show you two...]

I said as I activated my Hero Skill which released the pent-up mana that I've been keeping to myself to continuously train on containing my mana that was leaking out.

If I'm right, I'm also giving myself some leeway to what I think would be optimal for me which is to try and utilize Optical Concealment Magic, and an advanced skill to control my mana to morph myself into an individual that I can imagine on...

As they were seeing my body glowing, I took the form of a familiar figure that I usually see within the household. As I smiled at the two of them after turning to that individual, the two of them were quite inappropriately shocked.

[Eh?!]

[Diana-sama?! and... a little Diana-sama?!]

[Hello, Mother~]

I turned into Mama Diana who was in her younger teenage years which I usually see with her portraits inside Papa Edmund's office room... While it's quite concerning that Papa has something like that there, I think that something like this would work.

It's quite a different hairstyle from her current one of straight blonde hair wearing a ponytail. And also wore her outfit from her adventuring days of a nice Sirius Sect Priestess outfit bearing a white robe over her light blue garb, and gold-laced outlines on the white robe. 

She's also handling a Priestess' staff on the painting although I can't replicate something like that right now.

And to be honest, I only tried to sound like Mama Diana a little bit, but I didn't think that the two of them were caught with that too.

[Ah...]

[Ah?]

[Awawawa!!!]

[Diana-sama?!]

[Mama?!?!]

Mama Diana quickly covered her face out of embarrassment as Mama Clara quickly came to her for emotional aid. I quickly changed back to my current body of a six-year-old and went to Mama Diana as well to try and console her.

[How did you know that appearance, Emi-chan?!]

[H-Hyihhh?!?! I-It's F-Father's fault! H-He has a p-portrait of you o-on his office r-room...]

Mama Diana's embarrassment continued further than that for a while... 

I'm sorry Papa, but I think that you'll need to endure it for me...

[Coming back to that... That's an impressive magic control there, Emi-chan...]

[*sniff* Indeed... *sniff* T-To have this i-innate level of c-controlling magic power... *sniff* It's impressive... *sniff*]

[S-So... Can I become an adventurer...?]

As I asked the two of them, they looked at each other at first before nodding to each other in unison as if they'd reached an agreement that I didn't have an opinion on... I'm already having a bad feeling about this.

[We have three conditions for that, Emi-chan... First, if Clara would see that you have what it takes to become a C-Rank adventurer based on your sword and magic training with her, then you can become an adventurer.]

[U-Unn... I agree with that...]

[Second... You're only allowed to accept requests for around 3 days a week. You're still Clarence's personal maid on paper.]

[I-I guess... I can work with that...]

[And finally... You must absolutely escape if the situation you're in is dangerous and you're certain that you won't survive it. 

I'll have your adventurer's rank revoked if I ever got to see you amputated or have a serious injury.]

As Mama Diana said that with a solemn face, I can feel the worry that the two of them were having... The fact that adventuring itself is literally like fighting for your life every time, it's not something that's usually illustrated or described on isekai or fantasy light novels.

Just killing a single life in itself is already a thing that's really hard for any normal Earthling to experience, even for me too. But for the plans that came up in my mind... I need to become an adventurer...

[I'm willing to become one, Mother.]

After jogging for more than 5 miles, it was already around past the 5-hour mark, it was already afternoon when I finished that rigorous jogging. When I was already finished jogging ahead, I was called on by everyone who was on the porch while having lunch.

[Good work out there, Emi-chan... Have some water. You can also have lunch with everyone too after wiping your sweat.]

[T-Thank you, Mama...]

Mama Clara said as she gave me both a towel and a wooden cup to drink cold water on. Afterward, I join the four of them and ate lunch with them.

After that, I was tasked with changing to a newer attire which Mama Clara emphasized as "mobility and flexibility" within the fabric. So I believe that I would need to dress up like an adventurer.

That's why I used my Optical Concealment Magic to turn myself into my adult self with all of the specifications that I chose. Although my current stats won't change from that, the control of this body is exactly as precise as I would have from my own body.

My adventuring outfit consisted of a dark-red one-piece blouse and skirt along with white leg stockings and appropriate underwear inside, as well as flexible leather boots that have a good grip on the ground, and I chose a brighter red and gold chest plate, shoulder plate, and hip plate which were held by a hip belt and a gold-laced red cape as well.

I think that something like this would have already been good enough as an outfit like that. So when I got back to the training area, everyone around me from the knights, and mages, to the maids around me as well as Mama Clara and others was quite surprised...

[Who was that beauty...?]

[Hooooh... She looked like an adventurer... Is she a high-ranking one...?]

[She does look like Clara-sama... Could she be...?]

[Emi-chan... Is that you...?]

[Eh?! Is that Emi-oneechan?!]

[Optical Concealment Magic?!]

Aside from the knights and the mages who were speculating, Mama Clara asked a question as Clarence, and Papa Edmund was quite surprised about what Mama Clara has said... I forgot that the two of them didn't know that I can do Optical Concealment Magic.

[Diana-sama, Mama Clara, how do I look?]

[Oya? That looks pretty good to me... It seems to be really flexible for an adventurer outfit...]

[Indeed... But you're not the only one who has changed too.]

Mama Clara said as a flash of light later, her Victorian-Esque maid outfit was turned into an adventuring outfit that's particularly similar to an outfit I know of from fantasy gacha games...

An outfit befitting of a magic swordsman which consists of white inner clothing that covers the entirety of her upper body while morphed into something similar to a high-low skirt with similarity to a sarong skirt. 

Mama Clara also has a metal plate that is covered from the abdomen down to near the thighs and has a long black sock along with a complete knee-length lower-leg metal plate. She also has metal gauntlets on both hands which only covered the upper arm with a linen undergarment under the metal plate to hold it in place.

Her red hair was also changed from the usual braided one into a ponytail hairstyle like mine. It would be fair to know that I and Mama Clara might look like siblings and her being my elder sister.

[Are you ready for your sword training, Emi-chan? Remember that I will not be lenient on you whilst at training.]

[Yes, Mother!]

The aura around Mama Clara became stricter like the usual aura that she releases when she's training with Papa Edmund.

[Then take a weapon of choice from those weapon racks over there.]

[Yes, Mother!]

I said as I quickly made my way towards one of the weapon racks to look for a suitable weapon. Although I did Kendo in middle school, I don't think that something like that would be suitable for self-defense. Though since I can handle shinais, I think a straight sword would work.

[A Chokuto, huh... I guess it would be qui-- what?! It's freaking heavy!]

I did not expect ironwood to be this heavy for a straight sword... Wait, it's not even Chokuto, to begin with, but a normal regular sword! Well... Although I can properly handle a sword as my body reaches maturity, I don't think I can go with that even with Body-Enhancement Magic.

[If not... then a single-hand sword... Uchigatana and wakizashi... but Wakizashis are too small for a bla--oooooh!! That can work!]

I thought as I immediately tried to find the other racks for a sword that's similar to an Uchigatana and a Wakizashi... and as I guessed, some are similar to it. I guess these are from the Dynasty of Musashi that I heard of that's from the East...

[Oya? Dual-wielding, Emi-chan?]

[I think that it suits me the best, Mother...]

[Hoho~ is that so...? Are you ready to spar now...?]

She asked as I carried a wakizashi and its sheath on my right side while an Uchigatana and its sheath on the left side of my hips. A dual-wield style that's specialized and conceived by none other than Miyamoto Musashi, the two-sword Kenjutsu technique "Niten Ichi-ryū".

A technique that I'm well-versed in, aside from unarmed combat, and kendo. So I quickly unsheathed both of my swords with a Wazikashi on my left hand, and an Uchigatana on my right hand and replied to her question.
