Nise Suzuki I : A Fake Persona

We entered Yuuki's house and no one was there besides the three of us. Yuuki told, "Take a bath first, Nise. Put your clothes in the washer while I find some clothes for you to wear. Shin, you can sit there on the couch." I followed her while Nise went to the bathroom to take a shower. 

I'm sitting in the living room area of the house while Yuuki went upstairs to find some clothes for Nise. She returned with some clothes and put them on the door of the bathroom yelling, "There are some clothes and a towel for you, Nise." She went to the kitchen and prepared some snacks to eat and returned, and sat down beside me while putting the snacks on the table. 

She said, "Now, let's just wait for Nise."

I doubted, "I hope he will open up to us."

We waited for him, and he finally came out of the bathroom while wearing the clothes that Yuuki provided.

Yuuki asked, "Are you okay, Nise?"

He didn't answer. I insisted, "Sit down first, Nise." And he sits down in front of us.

For a bit, it's just silence in the room. Pure awkwardness because no one knows how to bring the subject out.

Then, Nise asked, "Did you guys tell the others about this?"

Yuuki replied, "We didn't."

Nise acknowledges, "I see."

I asked, "I'm going straight to the point, why did you lie?"

Nise questioned, "Lie? About what?"

Yuuki replied, "About your situation. You lied earlier about the nails to them." Nise was a bit agitated when Yuuki said that.

I followed, "Did you also lied about the hand?" Nise was surprised, "How did you know?"

Yuuki replied, "Because you don't want other people to worry about you, that's our conclusion to the situation."

Nise responded, "Okay, I see."

Nise gulped and said, "When I got here, I was thinking of a way to leave without explaining everything to you guys but I guess I need to tell you everything."

Yuuki and I prepared ourselves for whatever will Nise say.

Nise started explaining, "I was thinking of quitting the soccer club for a long time, ever since last year. In fact, I don't want to join the soccer club at first but someone forced me to do it."

Yuuki asked, "Who forced you to do it?"

Nise replied, "...My...parents."

Yuuki reacted, "Your parents?!"

Nise just nodded at us.

I looked at Yuuki and she was just confused on why such parents would do this to their own child.

Nise explained, "If you're wondering what happened to my hand, it was because of my father. He saw my nails and immediately slapped my hand off and told me to remove it or I'll have no place in the house."

This is horrible, a parent shouldn't do that to their own child.

Nise continued, "I think the fact that I'm the only boy in the household, that they want me to do this kind of stuff. I have two older sisters and I'm the youngest one. Having freedom isn't even an option for me, both in my home and at school."

Yuuki reacted, "It doesn't make sense at all. A parent shouldn't force their child on what they want. I don't get it."

I asked, "Is there more to it?"

Nise hesitated but answered, "Like my two sisters...my parents arrange them a fiance. My parents had already arranged a fiance for me."

I didn't talk because I couldn't say anything at all.

Nise continued, "I have to love someone by force, but that's not even the issue there."

I questioned, "What do you mean that's not the issue here?"

He didn't reply to me and he is hesitating to speak at all. He's not even looking at us.

I insisted, "Nise, please speak."

Nise replied, "I...couldn't love a girl."

Yuuki and I seem confused about what's Nise trying to say.

Nise explained, "I'm not interested in dating girls. I'm only interested in dating boys. If you haven't understood it yet, Yuuki, Shin...I'm gay."

This isn't what I expected, looks like Yuuki as well.

Nise continued, "I can't say it to my parents, nor to anyone. It's hard to tell anyone, knowing the fact that they won't accept me for who I am. I get jealous of my sisters on why they can wear makeups, color their nails, while I'm here realizing it's not prohibited to do but why people won't accept it."

Nise's right. It's hard to come out and tell it to someone, let alone your own parents. 

Nise exclaimed, "Why people won't accept the things that I wanted, it's not going to affect them. Why people won't accept me? Do I have to wear a mask of lies just to be accepted at all? I don't want to wear it anymore!"

Nise cried and cried until I snapped.

"Then don't freaking wear it!"

Nise and Yuuki were shocked when I yelled it to Nise. 

"f you don't want it to wear, you don't have to! If people didn't like that you have colored nails, then that's their problem, not yours! Don't force yourself on what they want. Be your true self! Embrace what you want! If they don't accept you for who you are, let them be! If people tell you what to do about yourself, don't listen to them! Don't satisfy them with what they want! Satisfy yourself with what you want!"

Nise is just in awe of what I said, then Yuuki followed, "If people don't like you for who you are, there are still people who are willing to accept you for who you are and there are two of them in front of you." and she lets her hand out. 

I let my hand out as well and added, "Don't lie to yourself anymore, Nise. It's time to fight those insecurities of yours and it's time to fight for what you want. Will you help yourself this time?"

Nise looked at us and was hesitating at first, then grab our hands, "I'm not running anymore. I'm going to fight for what I want this time."

Yuuki and I smiled at him and Nise appreciated, "Thanks, Yuuki, Shin."

I replied, "If the world is against you, always remember that you have friends who will still accept you."
