Chapter 5:

Afterwords

Breaking Shells

Thank you so much for reading this!

It was my first shot at writing a Light Novel, so I’m not really sure if it turned out decent or not. But if even one person was able to enjoy it, there is nothing more I could ask from it. Well, the prize money would be fine too, of course (laugh).

That said, the future I wanted to write about while navigating classic tropes and archetypes of the genre, is a world both simple and complex at the same time, with complexities and inconsistencies. For example some of you reading ‘’Kabukicho’’ may have thought that I got it confused with ‘’Yoshiwara’’, but I can assure you that’s not the case. People that rebuilt it made a precise choice toward making it a tourist trap.

Also, while I can see this future being a terrible dystopian society for a large part of the population left on Earth, culture still evolved from our time, especially in something like gender and races. After all, with Shells everyone can be anything they want and they simply do. Not mentioning the color of the skin is another deliberate choice, because none of the characters think it matter anymore.

Again, thank you so much for reaching this part.

I really appreciate it, even if you didn’t like it. There is no greater happiness from a author when people finish the book they worked on.

I can only hope the world I created fascinated you, the readers, at least one bit and after finishing you weren’t left with ‘’I wasted my time’’.

That is the only thing I would truly regret.

Bye,

I hope to see you again next time
