Chapter 7:

Fear

Incinerate

As Mephistopheles continued to progress down the hallways, he eventually arrived at a fork in the road where the path split into two separate directions. He could either go left or right. So, Mephistopheles decided to turn right walking down the hallway all relax and calm as he didn't need to concentrated on fighting for his life currently.

However, the control room operators who were monitoring Mephistopheles's actions had a different reaction upon seeing him kill one of the principals. The control room operators began to experience immense stress and anxiety. They wanted to take action and stop Mephistopheles from harming anyone else.

One operator finally spoke to the other, "What it cannot be, quickly report this to Simba and Balisarda Sumernor that Aham is no more,” she said.

"Yes, I will do that." replied the other.

Two operators rushed out of the control room to inform Simba and Balisarda Sumernor about what happened while seven other operators stayed behind and kept an eye on Mephistopheles.

One of the operators turned to the others and said, "What do we do now? We cannot let Mephistopheles get away with this!"

The other operator shook his head, "The best thing we can do is to inform Simba and Balisarda Sumernor of Aham's passing."

"Why don't we tell Deimos about Aham's death?" asked another.

"There is no way in which I will tell anything to that psycho. If we did that, he might decide that it is a good idea to kill us as well," replied the first operator.

"Deimos might be a maniac, but we should have him deal with this," said one operator to another. "He's the best we've got for this sort of thing."

"Cease your current line of conversation - we will not be relaying this information to him. Instead, we shall wait for Simba and Balisarda Sumernor to arrive and inform them personally. Do you understand? This situation is too dangerous to handle ourselves," ordered the second operator to the remaining operators.

A sudden sense of dread filled the air, and the operators began to shake uncontrollably. Their breathing started getting faster, and their blood pressure increased while their heart pounded quicker. Deimos stood above them behind the operators, seeming to emanate an eerie sense of power.

The operators all took a step back when they observed Deimos drawing near them. "Why are you all so terrified of me?" Deimos inquired. The mere question caused all the operators to tremble fearfully. "We're not afraid of you," stuttered one of the operators.

"Then why are you shivering like a bunch of mice?" Deimos asked. "I'm just asking a simple question."

"Because... because..." replied the operator.

"Because you are afraid of me. That is why you are trembling like a bunch of scared children

"No, no, that isn't true," the operator lied.

Deimos stepped forward, shaking his head in disgust. He then addressed the operators who were hiding behind the first operator, saying "It seems like you're scared of me. But if you're telling the truth, you shouldn't have any issue with me using my ability."

He then focused his attention on another operator, giving them an intense stare as he approached them and grabbed them by the throat, lifting them off the ground. Their eyes grew wide with terror as Deimos squeezed his hands tighter and tighter, strangling them and increasing the amount of pressure he put on their neck.

The operator who was being strangled began to scream for help, "Stop, stop, please, stop!"

But Deimos responded with two word "Truth Arises" the word Deimos announced from his mouth activated his ability name Truth Arises what allow him to know if someone is lying or being truthful even if they don't admit it or try to hide it.

Above the operator head, three letter appeared that only Deimos could see spelling out LIE.

Deimos released the operator from his grasp, and the operator collapsed onto the floor. However, the operator's face was ashen white, and his lips were blue. He couldn't move or speak, and his eyes stared blankly at nothing. Deimos then turned back to the other operators.

"It's a lie. Now, why would you try to bullshit me like that? I can't stand liars, I could kill you in a second, just like how I destroy a city, so don't ever lie to me again or you'll end up just like that city I destroy," said Deimos.

The other operators were petrified, and they all took a step back. They were terrified of Deimos after witnessing him strangle an operator by his throat. The operators continued to tremble.

On the monitor, it displayed Mephistopheles strolling through the castle with the blood of Aham on his sword and vambraces. The monitors caught Mephistopheles talking out loud, “Hello anyone there.” It looked like he had just murdered someone and was now searching for anyone else that could be in the castle. He appeared to be relishing the carnage that he had caused.

Deimos overheard Mephistopheles from the monitor, wondering what the operators were trying to hide from him. He took action to look at the monitor and became intrigued with Mephistopheles, seeing the blood on his sword and vambraces “Who is this gentleman?” asked Deimos. Mephistopheles was a fearsome looking individual, and Deimos couldn't help but be curious about him.

One of the operators spoke up. "Well, this person successfully infiltrated the castle, killing 67 archers and 585 swordsmen. Plus, they took out Aham principal 5." Deimos was incredulous. "How did they do it? Who is this guy?"

"He killed Aham, principal 5, but he doesn't seem to care about the other principals," answered another operator.

"Ah, so it appears that he has no remorse for killing those who are under our lord's command. Interesting. But I will find out who he is sooner or later," said Deimos.

The operator's words piqued Deimos's interest. "His name might be Mephistopheles," the operator said. "I heard Bismark and Aham talk about someone by that name. He might be the same person."

Deimos was interested in Mephistopheles for many reasons. "Hmm, that's interesting. What else did you hear about him?"

"He also mentioned that he came here to slay Balisarda Sumernor," one of the operators said. "But we can't confirm if that's his true motive."

Deimos found himself fascinated by Mephistopheles and wanted to know more about him. "Do you know where I can locate him?" asked Deimos.

"Don't worry, we have security cameras throughout the entire castle, I will have someone go and check to see where he is now." said one of the operators.

Deimos gazed at the monitor that displayed Mephistopheles strolling down the hallway and said, "I think I will take care of that myself." Then Deimos vanished from the control room. Suddenly, Deimos was hurtling throughout the castle at an inconceivable velocity, as if he were speeding faster than the speed of light. He zoomed through the corridors and rooms of the castle, peeking into each one to see if he could spot Mephistopheles.

Deimos continued to fly from room to room until he came across a hallway that was located in the north-east corner of the castle. There were several rooms situated in this section, along with a few staircases leading downwards. Deimos dashed down the staircases, spiraling downward into darkness. Deimos continued to spiral down the stairs and found himself in another hallway.

Deimos carried on his descent and came to a door that went into a room. Deimos carried on going down until he got to the bottom. Deimos came out again on the first floor of Balisarda Sumernor castle. This bit looked like it was the main area for the castle, containing the reception hall which led off into the dining hall and kitchen. There were loads of doors going to different parts of the castle and joining halls.

As Deimos was flying through the corridors on the first floor of the castle, he saw Mephistopheles walking through the hallway. Deimos flew towards Mephistopheles and attempted to punch him. Mephistopheles, however, was able to block Deimos's attack with his sword. Mephistopheles deflected the punch with his sword, sending the blow back at Deimos with ease. "What are you trying to do? I will just negate everything you do," said Mephistopheles.

Outside of the castle on a small hill

A dull thumping sound echoed in the distance as an innumerable amount of boots trampled through the muddy grass. The sound of men marching up a hill, led by Jabari, was muffled but riotous. The men were tired, as they had been walking for miles. But as they reached the top of the hill and saw Balisarda Sumernor castle in the distance, they all stopped to rest and prepared a strategy to break through the entrance.

"It's time" said Jabari
