Chapter 8: The Alliance Part 2

Magneto sat at their throne, the table of their council. He sat spinning some metal orbs in tandem with each other. The Juggernaut and Sabretooth at his side. Albert Wesker, Loki, and Red Skull entered Magneto’s presence with some news.

“We’ve eliminated and recovered the remains of a few more of these so called Sentinels. Now I must ask… why are we collecting these things?” Loki asked.

“I must agree. What are we collecting scrap?” Said Wesker.

Magneto cleared his throat before giving Red Skull the stand.

“Well as you know the Sentinels are driven to the elimination of all mutants which includes our metal savvy friend here.” Red Skull points, singling out Magneto. “However my Hydra engineers have been reverse engineering and improving these Sentinels to be used for our benefit.” The Red Skull said, pleased with the results.

“Pfft. Machines. My Bio Organic Weapons are far more powerful and much cheaper to produce…” Wesker noted with an agreeable nod from Magneto.

“While these B.O.W.S are quite impressive we still need to bolster our forces as much as possible. And on top of that these machines are much easier to control.”

Wesker pushed his sunglasses up as a means to mask his disagreeable look in regards to the matter. Knowing that Magneto had a point but not willing to admit it. The Red Skull remained pleased with himself. His new Sentinels being called Red Sentinels due to their red & black color. They also had a Hydra insignia painted on their chests.

“Have we identified any more rogue heroes? Perhaps my brother Thor?”

“Or what of Captain America?” Red Skull added to Loki’s inquiry.

“No word on either of those two. However, Wesker’s bodyguard, that witch doctor has found several pockets of rogue heroes who aren’t yet in the know of what’s going on. It’s important that we find them before our enemy has the chance to request their aid.” Magneto said.

The rogue heroes they speak of are our divided heroes. Chris Redfield, X-23, and Rocket Raccoon. Spider-Man and Ryu’s group, and lastly Iron-Man and company. There was even one more small group of heroes that included three people much like Chris’ group. Former S.T.A.R.S member Barry Burton(Resident Evil), and longtime ally of Chris Redfield’s, Drax the Destroyer (Guardians of the Galaxy). Then there was a female warrior who was a huntress. Wearing a set of armor that was scaly in nature. She was known as a “Monster Hunter” (Monster Hunter) by Drax, Drax picking the simplest and most literal title he could muster. And both Drax and Barry respected her strength and bravery.

“Allow us to take care of this fourth group. I’d very much like to add Barry to my collection.” Albert Wesker said as he pointed out Jill Valentine, who was under his control. “However we need to set a plan in motion to take care of these other rogues.” Wesker added.

“Already on it. Iron-Man and his group will be lured directly to us using his friend War Machine as bait. Whom we’ve already captured upon Jean Grey’s arrival. We plan to emit a signal from his armor to give Iron-Man our location, Once they arrive I’m sure our new allies Vergil as well as the Phoenix will be ready to end them.”

Magneto went on.

“As for the group heralding the world warriors known as Ryu and Chun-Li, as well as Bruce Banner we’ll send my very own disciple Juggernaut, and other street fighter such as Vega, Hugo, and Juri to finish the job. With them I’ll send several of our new Red Sentinels as well as some Shadaloo troops to back them up.” Magneto planned.

“What of your rival? This Chris Redfield. It is my understanding that he has the support of a very powerful mutant. Much like Wolverine, known as X-23. We’ll have to send some powerful warriors if she is with him.” Magneto had asked Wesker.

“I think I’ll send my newly christened Bionic Tyrant to dispatch of Chris. As for his two new comrades… according to Jill they are quite formidable like you said. So perhaps we’ll send Ronan the Conqueror. He has experience with the rodent and maybe your fellow mutant Sabretooth.” Wesker said as Sabretooth roared with excitement. “Well… then that’s settled.”

“Then we shall set these plans into motion.” Magneto said. “Wesker?”

“Yes.”

“Would you, Loki, and Red Skull kindly take care of our fourth group now?”

Wesker smirked. “Of course.”

“I’m not one for vulgarities, but what must be done must be done.” Said Loki.

“Blitzkrieg then.” Red Skull added.

Hours later, Drax and crew were slicing through the forest. Sweating as Drax chopped up brush with his daggers as if they were machetes. Monster Hunter, and Barry Burton (Who was wearing his S.T.A.R.S vest). As the three of them cut through the jungle and into some rundown ancient ruins in northern Argentina. The three were floored by the view. Especially Barry who hadn’t seen anything like it.

“Wow! What incredible ruins!”

“They are most impressive.” Drax said plainly.

“Oooh!” The Monster Hunter exclaimed. Not speaking English like the others. “Rafi!” She said, being the Wyverian word for greetings. Saying as if she were greeting the ancient ruins.

“I’ve seen some incredible places. Wide open ocean, creepy mansions. But this one… oh boy doesn’t it take the cake!” Barry exclaimed as Drax looked at him funny.

“What would old buildings need with cake?” Drax asked.

“Oh yeah…” Barry said. “I forgot how literal you are. It’s an Earth thing.” Barry said which was all the explanation that Drax would need.

The three excited to make their way through these ruins began walking when they began hearing a helicopter whirring overhead. At first it was faint, and they weren’t sure what it was. But as the chopper would come into view Barry would Immediately recognize the logo painted underneath. It was the logo of the Umbrella corporation.

“Umbrella?” Barry questioned. He would then swiftly pull out his Colt Python revolver. A sleek, powerful weapon that packed an enormous punch.

“Looks more like some sort of flying machine!” Drax noted. “But I’ll wait till it gets closer. It could still be an Umbrella.” He dimwittedly said.

“Kura! Kura!” The Monster Hunter yelled with concern as she drew her bow.

“Damn it woman! How many times have I told you we don’t understand you!” Drax the irritable Destroyer noted. Barry chuckled.

“Hey, she doesn’t understand us either.” He said.

As the Umbrella helicopter grew increasingly closer, the trio prepared themselves. The Monster Hunter who’d drawn her bow and shot at the metal bird, but the arrow just bounced right off of it. Drax berated her again yet made note of her bravery and accuracy, nonetheless. Not long after three silhouettes would drop and free fall from the helicopter without parachutes. This startled the heroes. Though Barry was already certain, Drax and Monster Hunter now knew this bird meant trouble.

“This is bad news…” Barry said. “I hope they’re pancakes now.”

“Me too. I’m quite hungry.”

As the three of them moved forward it wasn’t long until those silhouettes had appeared before them. They stood confident against our heroes as Wesker, Loki, and the Red Skull walked into view. Barry was immediately taken aback by this sight.

“Wesker!?” Barry then yelled as Wesker smirked at him.

Wesker removed his sunglasses revealing unnaturally orange eyes. “Barry Burton.”

Loki and Red Skull would also move in, Loki armed with his magic scepter, and the Red Skull armed with only his bare hands. Though not to be fooled, Red Skull is quite skilled in hand to hand combat.

“I’ll get Drax the Destroyer. His mind is ill equipped for the likes of the Trickster God!” Loki claimed as he held forth his scepter and then disappeared.

“I’ll get the armored Fräulein.” Red Skull said.

In that moment Red Skull and Wesker began to charge the trio amidst Loki’s disappearance. Barry Burton aimed his Python right at Wesker and fired shot after shot. Each bullet whizzing through the air but right as it were to hit Wesker, he’d suddenly slide out of the way. Like a blurry shadow moving momentarily at the speed of light. And despite Barry’s persistence and accuracy Wesker would avoid every shot like this out of Barry’s 6 round magazine. Barry would then use a speed reloader to reload, but as he aimed forward Wesker was already there.

“Too slow!” Wesker yelled as he struck Barry with his palm. Knocking Barry back into a tree. Barry Burton would then fall to his ass and drop his weapon.

At the same time, Monster Hunter and Drax were ready to face the Red Skull as it would be a two vs. one situation. But there confidence would be misplaced with the reappearance of Loki. As Loki appeared behind Drax, Loki used his scepter and cast a paralysis spell on the Destroyer. This caught Drax off guard as he slowly turned and sloppily swung his blades at the trickster god. Which in turn caught Loki off guard, because Drax wasn’t entirely paralyzed as most would be in that moment.

Right next to them, Red Skull and the Monster Hunter began exchanging blows. The Monster Hunter was using her dual blades and slashing at the Red Skulls outfit but though the leather of his jacket would be slashed and tattered, the flesh underneath would receive minimal damage. This shocked the Hunter as she jumped back and drew her bow yet again. As the string of her bow stretched as far as it could she un-pinched her fingers and let the arrow fly. As the arrow flew directly towards Red Skull’s face he caught the arrow mid fly. This shocked the Hunter as she once again unsheathed her dual blades.

Adjacent to that fight Loki continued to dodge Drax’s sloppy attacks. Drax screaming in rage the whole way. But Loki wasn’t fazed one bit. And when the opportunity arose he knelt forward and tripped Drax with the bottom half of his scepter. Loki would once again puncture Drax’s skin with the tip of his magical weapon, using the paralysis spell once again. But this time it would be permanent. Drax would no longer be able to move.

Back up against the tree Barry Burton grabbed his Colt Python and once again took aim at his former captain Albert Wesker.

“Ha! Go ahead.” Wesker said as he grabbed the barrel of the gun and pressed it against his chest. “I’m ready whenever you are.” He said with a smirk.

Barry had a look of shock the whole while. But he didn’t let that stop him.

“Alright!” He yelled as he pulled the trigger. Firing all 6 rounds yet again but this time through Wesker’s chest as a black tar-like substance was blown out the back. And as Barry looked on it was in horror. Wesker wasn’t even remotely hurt from the look of it.

“What are you!?”

“Hmm. Good question. I guess you could call me… an immortal.” Wesker said as he cackled maniacally. “But don’t worry. You will be too soon. After you watch your comrades fall, just like the Spencer Mansion all over again.”

“N-NO!” He yelled as he held a red beetle-like machine to Barry’s chest. Intending to use it to control his mind the way he did for Jill Valentine. Though further conditioning would also be required.

Barry now helpless had to watch the remainder of Monster Hunter and Red Skull’s battle. But he wouldn’t be strapped in for long. Because despite the Hunter’s impressive armor set making Red Skull’s punches moot, the Skull would still have one trick up his sleeve that might work. Taking a page from Loki’s book. The Red Skull would then pull out a hand grenade and pull the pin. As he threw the grenade the Monster Hunter wasn’t much concerned. To her it was just some sort of smooth rock. So naturally she caught it. As she looked at it puzzled, it would unfortunately explode. And the Hunter would be lost to the flames of the explosion.

“You monsters!” Barry yelled as he tried to break free of Wesker’s grasp. But it wouldn’t work.

The three supervillains were now all standing tall over Barry Burton, laughing. Wesker then pressed the beetle up against him as it latched on and wires entered Barry’s chest, fighting to take control of him. As they laughed and Barry struggled. The Umbrella helicopter hovered over and picked them up. Drax still laying motionless and powerless on the ground.

Minutes would pass and Drax would still be stuck there. But he wasn’t alone. A female figure would emerge from the jungle and take notice of the scene. The scorched earth from Monster Hunter’s demise was still smoking with hot embers. As this woman walked closer to Drax, she’d be shocked to learn that he was still alive.

“Jesus…” the woman said as she knelt down before him. Touching him with a cybernetic arm. She then jumped on her communicator and spoke with an unknown entity. “This is Nilin Cartier-Wells. We’ve got one survivor!” Nilin (Remember Me) said. As she looked at the beaten Destroyer.
