"Y-You're alive!?" Wang Shu was shocked, not only him, but also Yuan Min and Wang Liu.Lan Du laughed

"Against. Domain real master like you, did you think I'd dare to even take one hit from you? I know how it feels to break a few bones and I don't wish to repeat it" Lan Du removed the dagger and stood up.

"So this is colonel Yuan's domain, fascinating" Lan Du looked around and said in wonder and fascination. She looked around and studied the laws of the domain.

'His laws are space and gravity, both are high-end laws that few can comprehend, I must work harder' She thought to herself.

She glanced at Wang Shu and a smile crept to her face

"I may be young, but I'm not all about praises, someday, I'll end you with my own strength" Lan Du's words sounded motivating but also sounded like a threat at the same time.

Wang Shu felt embarrassed, he, a Domain realm master, was caught off guard by someone in 

Imperial Spirit! He found the whole process humiliating.

Yuan Min retracted his Domain at this moment and stared at Lan Du, he was especially shocked by her acting due to how real it seemed. He then began to wonder.

'Could the hostility I felt from him be real...' He stared at Lan Du with a hint of suspicion, but it was hard to tell since Lan Du now gave him an admiring gaze.

Lan Du felt a strong insight enter her mind, she has now personally experienced a Domain and her spiritual strength began to boil. She sat down in a crossed leg position and closed her eyes. 

Having gained insight from the domain, she felt her spiritual strength rise slightly.

Yuan Min took notice, her talent made him feel more and more proud.

'If I can rope him in, it'll be a great benefit for the army'

Lan Du soon opened her eyes, she looked around and saw that she was no longer in the main room of the mercenary guild. Rather, she was on a car, she quickly touched her face and let out a sigh of relief when she felt her mask.

She turned to her side and saw Wang Liu beside her, Wang Shu was seated at the front of the car while Yuan Min was driving. The car was extremely luxurious, even for Lan Du. The materials alone will leave her troubled.

"Why am I here" She suddenly spoke up

Wang Liu smiled lightly and replied

"Since you were in that state, Colonel said it was best not to leave you there, so we took you with us, don't worry, we're just visiting a place before drop you off at your home" He said lightly

Lan Du froze

"You know where I live?" She asked

He shook his head

"That's why you'll need to guide us" He replied with a smile

'Sly bastards' Lan Du thought to herself, but she nodded her head, but her heart skipped a beat when they stopped outside the hospital.

She knew Yuan Min was visiting her mother, but she had to follow closely and make sure her emotions don't show when she enters the room.

Standing beside the bed, Yuan Min knelt down by the side and held her hand gently.

"My wife... Xin'er, when will you wake up" He muttered

Lan Du clenched her fists

'You're the reason she is like this, and you still dare to act concerned after betraying her trust, if I ever meet your son, I'll give him a greeting he'll never forget'

"Colonel, I thought your wife passed away" Lan Du suddenly said innocently

The three suddenly froze

"This..." Yuan Min didn't know what to say, many people already know of his wife's death, and also know her name since he enrolled his son already in an academy. He completely let his guard down this time.

"Ah, I'm sorry, I-I shouldn't have brought it up" Lan Du said apologetically, but her heart was beating happily.

'Speechless? Someday, I'll make sure the whole world know of this'

"Xiao Mo, never tell anyone about this, this matter is very personal to Colonel" Wang Liu said as he placed a hand on her shoulder.

(Xiao=little and Mo=Devil, sounds a bit better than saying little devil in these situations)

Lan Du nodded her head and smiled sweetly, she then turned her head to Lan Xin who laid on the bed motionlessly.

"She must have been a kind woman" Lan Du muttered

Yuan Min nodded but didn't say anything

"Let's go, we'll send you home" He stood up and said

He led them back to the car, but Lan Du didn't enter

"I'll walk home from here, it isn't too far" She said

"No need, we took you here, so we might as well send you back" Yuan Min insisted

Lan Du nit her lips and could only comply, she entered the car and sat beside Wang Liu. She glanced at him and asked.

"Did...any of you look beneath my mask" Lan Du said slowly, her eyes showed a hint of helplessness and dejection as she asked.

Wang Liu shook his head

"Though my brother did try to see what you look like, Colonel stopped him when he tried to lift your mask, apparently you don't wish to show your face"

Lan Du nodded her head, but she didn't trust his words.

"How can I know you're not lying" Lan Du asked

Wang Liu froze, he didn't expect Lan Du to be so careful about herself. He rubbed his chin.

"I can't, but you should trust the colonel" He smiled lightly, he heard how she admired Yuan Min, so he used it as an excuse.

Lan Du smiled

'As if'

"Of course, but I can't trust your brother"

Lan Du then placed her hand on her mask.

"I... I was told once by my mother, no one is to see my face except for the one who I truly wish to be with, once they see my face, I must marry that person, if any of you have seen my face.... 

I can only choose to end my own life" Lan Du's eyes showed a cold glint, Wang Liu could see that she had her hand on her dagger, preparing it for herself.

Wang Liu quickly grabbed her hand

"Stop, we really didn't see it, take better care of yourself" He said in a concerned manner

Wang Shu and Yuan Min, who heard, were stupefied, was that really the reason? But if that was true, Lan Du might really kill herself, so they closed off their thoughts in taking off her mask. 

Despite their curiosity, they chose not to pry.

Lan Du then pointed out the window

"Take a turn to the right here, that small shop is where I stay" Lan Du said

Yuan Min parked outside the shop and stared at the shabby shop that didn't even have any decorations.

"This is where you stay? Should I prep a house for you? After all, you still have a sister to take care of" Yuan Min said as he frowned lightly.

"I prefer these smaller buildings" Lan Du said as she stepped out the car.Yuan Min had the Wang brothers wait inside as he followed Lan Du inside. Lan Du was hoping he'd go right after dropping her off, but now that he followed, it was impossible to make him leave as it'll ruin all her hard work in acting.

Lan Du knocked lightly

The door opened and Hui Yue's head poked out. She then saw Yuan Min behind Lan Du and gasped in shock. As a former assassin, how could she not know who he is?

"C-Colonel Yuan! Lil bro, how did you invite someone like him?" She asked in shock

Lan Du walked forward

"Ah, I met him on a mission and received his help" Lan Du said and walked in, she tucked a piece of paper into Hui Yue's pockets and led Yuan Min into the lounge, The place was messy and rubbish was everywhere.

Lan Du glared at Hui Yue

"Sis, I've told you to clean so many times, look at this mess" Lan Du grumbled as she began picking up the bits of trash on the ground.

Yuan Min chuckled as he wondered who was the elder sibling between the two. The older sister is like a child, yet the younger brother is like the guardian.

"Keep it this messy, and I'll cut your meals by half" Lan Du added

"Ah, don't do this, I'll clean every day, don't cut my meals" She cried out as she began packing up the room. Yuan Min was about to help out when Lan Du stopped him.

"How can I have the guest clean? Sit down and relax" She smiled and said

'When will he leave, dammit' Lan Du grumbled in her head

The longer Yuan Min stayed, the more clues he can find out about her, so she hoped he would leave immediately. She still kept her smile and caring aura around her, despite her dissatisfaction.

Lan Du pulled Hui Yue aside and stared at her

"Have you read it yet?" She asked

Hui Yue nodded, Lan Du was referring to the paper she passed to her not long ago when Yuan Min followed them in.

"Colonel Yuan, it's a bit late, would you like to stay for dinner?" Lan Du smiled and asked

Yuan Min shook his head

"No need, I'm still busy, maybe next time" He stood up and walked out

Lan Du let out a sigh or relief

'The dinner trick worked, as a busy man, if I ask him to stay, he would immediately leave' Lan Du smiled and sat down.

"He's finally gone, him staying just stresses me out" Lan Du muttered

Hui Yue tucked her lips and smiled

"Then why do you pretend to be his fan?" She asked

"Because his daughter hates him, if I show any ill intention towards him, he can easily link us together" Lan Du replied, she didn't mind telling Hui Yue as she already know her gender.

Hui Yue was shocked and stupefied

"His daughter...you!" She pointed at her and exclaimed

"The one and only" Lan Du smiled bitterly

Hui Yue clasped her hands

"H-He's your father, Colonel Yuan? One of the strongest Mech pilots and Spirit master!" She shouted in shock

Lan Du clenched her fists

"No, he isn't my father, he is merely a stranger whom his blood runs in my veins, nothing more" Lan Du said silently, she remained silent after that.

As Hui Yue was about to say something, she heard a loud *slap*

She then saw Lan Du with a red hand print on her face.

"I let my emotion get the best of me again, let's go eat, we can't let the mood affect our taste buds" Lan Du stood up with a smile

Seeing Lan Du's light smile, Hui Yue decided to move on from the topic, if Lan Du didn't wish to talk about it, she didn't wish to pry further.

"Why did you slap yourself earlier?" She tapped her shoulder and asked

"I use the pain to stimulate my mind, it calms me down" Lan Du replied

"Eh? So the more pain you feel, the calmer you are?" Hui Yue questioned, she seemed perplexed at Lan Du's methods in calming down.

Lan Du chuckled

"Well, in fights, it gets me more excited, I can't help but want to beat them to the ground, make them beg for mercy and enjoy their desperation, the more they struggle, the better" Lan Du revealed a sadistic smile on her face as she spoke.

Hui Yue shivered

"You're very sadistic, you know that?" She muttered

Lan Du nodded

"Of course, even when I first met you, your desperate actions made me very excited" Lan Du held herself as she said with complete bliss on her expression.

Hui Yue began wondering if Lan Du was really as perfect as she thought she was. That prideful and overbearing monster in her head now seemed much more flawed, but in a way that still scared her.

Seeing Hui Yue's reaction, Lan Du composed herself and coughed a few times to get her attention. She tapped her head gently and smiled.

"If you keep standing there in a daze, the food will be gone, though I already ate, my stomach can take much more" Lan Du chuckled and headed to the dining room.

Hui Yue heard her and immediately made a dash for the food

"No, I've been waiting to save those dishes until now!" She called out and dug into the food. 

Lan Du laughed and didn't touch the food.

She just sat there with Hui Yue with a warm smile on her face. Without her mother, she felt lost. But with Hui Yue, she felt like she has another family member she can lean on so she no longer drift aimlessly.

Lan Du's hand reached out and she placed it on Hui Yue's face, in which she reacted by rubbing her face to her hand like a kitten.

"Thank you...sister" She muttered silently and stood up, she went to Hui Yue's bedroom to get herself some bedding.

Hui Yue who was eating then heard a shout

"Hui Yue! Your room's a mess!" She roared

Hui Yue dropped her chopsticks and froze

"I-I can explain" She said weakly

Lan Du stormed out and pulled her by the ear

"Oh? Then please do, explain yourself" Lan Du wore a smile that didn't seem like a smile.

"I, erm....I-" Being unable to find an excuse, she was pulled into the room to clean it up on her own. Lan DU stood by the side and watched as she tapped her feet.

"The next time I see it like this, I won't buy desserts anymore" Lan Du threatened

"Ah, you can't do that, how can I live without the desserts!" Hui Yue cried as she put all her heart and soul into cleaning up the room.

After, Lan Du had her take out a mattress and other beddings in which she was going to use.

"Not ging to stay at the school dorm?" She turned to Lan Du and asked

"The term ended, I have a good few weeks so I might as well use some time with you" Lan Du smiled gently to herself as she sat down.

Hui Yue hugged her

"So sweet, if only I met you sooner" She muttered

Lan Du patted her head and laid down, Hui Yue ho was still hugging her was now on top of her. She rubbed Lan Du''s head and giggled.

"Sometimes you are like a war god, but it's times like this that I can truely see how cute and adorable my little sister is"

Lan Du flicked her forehead

"I'm the little sister, so when I'm like this, you'll have to spoil this little sister" Lan Du reached out her hand and acted like a kitten under Hui Yue.

Hui Yue was stunned, she didn't expect this side of Lan Du, this was teh first time she has seen Lan Du act like this ever since meeting her. She then realised Lan Du's face was slightly red, she placed a hand on her forehead and was shocked.

"You're burning up! Did you catch a cold?" She became flustered and quickly undressed Lan Du. She wiped her body of the sweat and chaned her into more comfotable sleepwear.

"You spiritual strength is fluctuating, I've heard that sudden increases can lead to symptoms, could she have consumed something with an enourmous spiritual strength recently?" She muttered, she tucked her into bed and went to get a wet towel.

*Bang*

When she came back, she heard a loud bang, she ran inside teh room and saw Lan Du on the ground, her body seemed weak as she shuddered.

"Lan Du, what happened" She ran over to her and lifted her back onto the bed.

Lan Du grabbed her sleeve

"Don't leave me again...I don't want to be alone anymore" Lan Du muttered, her eyes were closed and her hand trembled.

Hui Yue's heart melted at that moment

"Alright" She said as she laid down beside her. She stroked her head gently as she embraced her.

'She is still so young, her birthday is coming up as well, even so, she is only 12 right now, she fights for herself everyday, both physically and psychologically, you must be tired'

"Let this big sister spoil you till you're satisfied"
