Chapter 1:

Chapter 1 - Demon

Daemon

As a child, I have always been fascinated by the unknown—whether it be why ants always walk in a line, or whether God and the grand stories about Him and magic are real. Are demons real? Is God always good and demons always the bad guys?

But now, I think I may have found the answer to those questions.

Demons are real.

Chapter 1 – Demon

School bell chime.

“Yeah! See ya' tomorrow!”

A girl from my class shouted from across the room as the school bell rang, marking the end of classes.

“You too! Be safe on your way home!” the blonde girl standing in front of me replied.

“Hey! What the fuck are you staring at for?”

What’s wrong with her? She stood in front of me, then got angry at me for facing the way I’m already facing?

“I don’t have time for this conversation.”

I replied dismissively.

“What did you just say to me!?”

I got up from my seat, started collecting my things, and prepared to go home.

“Wait just a damn minute. We’re still not finished here…” she said in a cold voice as the classroom suddenly felt like it lost all of its temperature and dropped to subzero. All the colors around us seemed to drain away, turning everything into a blue hue.

All of the students who were readying themselves to go home seemed to have vanished the moment she spoke those words. It felt like we were the only ones left in this weird, blue-hued, cold, lifeless world—stripped of all signs of life. Only her existence remained. Her being in front of me was the only heat I could feel in this cold void of a world. The warmth I had felt earlier from the other students was gone in an instant. It just feels like we—

“It feels like we’ve gone to another world, doesn’t it?”

She said with a smirk, finishing my thoughts.

“Well, technically we are in another world. More accurately, dimension is the right term.”

“And in here, I can do all I want to you… all that I want!”

She said as she stomped her foot on my desk.

“So what were you saying earlier? That you don’t have time for this conversation? Well here, I made time for you! You can even say that I’m so nice for making time for someone like you, hehe~!”

She laughed mockingly.

“Like I said earlier, I can do anything I want here, right? I can kill you right now and then revive you. It won’t happen in real life, of course, but it will still leave you broken!”

“I can do that for a couple of hours until I’m satisfied. Or do you want days? Eternity?!”

She shouted, her face an inch away from mine, nearly rendering me deaf with her high-pitched voice.

“I want to hear your screams of agony while I’m killing you slowly!”

There was a sudden swish of metal as she brandished a big, fiery scythe that seemed to come out of nowhere, manifesting in the air.

“I also want to hear your cries for mercy, begging me to stop!”

“So what do you say? Are you up for the challenge? …Oh wait, you accepted the challenge the moment you dared to dismiss me like that!”

“TALK TO ME, YOU DIPSHIT!”

SLAP!

She slowly looked at me with unimaginable disbelief on her face.

“D-did y-you? Did you just slap me? Me!? The great Princess Lucifer of the Underworld!?”

sigh “Yes. I’ve had enough of this farce. If you don’t stop bossing me around, I won’t give a fuck about what happens to your beautiful face.”

She stared at me, still touching the spot I slapped earlier, unable to utter a word from the sheer disbelief of what had just happened to her.

“I-I… I won’t allow this! This is nonsense! How come you have the guts to say and do all those things to me when you’re just a lowly mortal!?”

“Mortal? Who said I’m a mortal?”

Her eyes widened after hearing what I said.

“W-What? Are you not? B-but how come I cannot sense any demon blood from you? How is this possible? I am the Princess of the Underworld. I should know this because I rule all of the demons and—”

“All of the demons? Heh, don’t get too cocky now. You know, your family name’s reputation has gotten quite low these days. Sometimes demons lower than me don’t even know who you are.”

Clearly, that last line struck a nerve. After all, the Lucifers are proud demons.

“HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT TO ME, YOU LOWLY MORTAL!”

She yelled as she swung her massive scythe at me. I quickly evaded, leaving a gaping hole where I had been sitting moments ago.

“Oh, be careful. That’s dangerous, Your Majesty. You might kill someone doing that.”

“SHUT THE FUCK UP! I WILL KILL YOU!”

She continued slashing across the room, trying to hit me, but I was too fast for her. I moved left and right, up and down. There were times she didn’t even see me and swung at random directions. Wait… is she even trained to wield that weapon?

The room became a total wreck.

Then she stopped.

Heavy breathing echoed throughout the destroyed classroom.

I approached her.

“Have you calmed down now?”

“Y-yes, I have,” she answered, breathing heavily.

“NOT!”

She suddenly swung her scythe at me again, almost catching me off guard. She continued to slash wildly across the room once more.

sigh “I guess there’s no other choice.”

I quickly dashed in front of her, grabbed her by the shoulders…

…and kissed her.

She suddenly stopped all her movements, as if the kiss had drained all the energy from within her.

After the kiss, she stood there staring into the void, her knees shaking. After five long seconds, she fell to the floor—helpless.

Because I did drain all of her energy from that kiss.

Now she’s just a helpless girl on the floor, prone to all kinds of danger.
