Chapter 21:

Side Chapter: Change of Plans

Diary of Void: The Millennium War

Somewhere in Atlantis, Planet Earth

Uto with several people walking next to him talked about something. The group was in a rush and was powerwalking through several places. As Yengor and the Alagan Squad returned to home base, they reported on successfully capturing Ammon Aineias, the traitor of the Atlantian people.
Uto joyfully smiled as he, his assistant, Larisa and several other top subordinates followed him and arrived at Deployment Room V.

"Oh! Sir, you're here." Erian noticed. "You don't have to go to D Room V to greet us."

"Ah, no worries, Erian. I couldn't contain my excitement when I received your report." Uto replied. "And everyone here, good job."

They all nodded in sync, grateful to hear Uto praising them.

"Now, shall we see this bastard once and for all?"

"Of course, sir."

Being the leader of the Alagan Squad, Erian holds the responsibility of transporting so it was Erian who revealed Ammon to Uto. Uto's eyes glittered up like the stars in the night sky as he finally saw the one who betrayed him and his people get revealed.
Fluffy hair of blonde burst out and soon after, the man's clear gold eyes could be seen as well. A solid-built but thin man wearing clothes unfamiliar to Uto but nevertheless, he could instantly recognise that this man was Ammon, even after 10,700 years.

"So it was indeed you, Uto!" he cried out.

"Long time no see, Ammon," Uto replied. "It seemed that you had enjoyed your life after the destruction of our home, isn't that right?! Our glorious home country of well over 280,000 is now left at the bottom of the ocean, in ruins, with a population of less than 400! And that's all because of you, Ammon Aineias! If you only could warn us about the Divine's attack or at least be not so selfish, we could be living in relatively peaceful times instead of this!"

"..."

"Answer me, Ammon! Why did you not warn us about the attack?!" Uto shouted at Ammon. "Tell me, you traitor! Why?!"

By now, Uto was holding Ammon by his neck, and with his back to a wall. Uto's subordinates around him did not try to stop him. Uto's anger was now out of control and his light blue hair was now turning slightly pink and purple with small sparks of blue emitted in the air around him. But still, they did not move. Not even a single millimetre. They just stayed in the same position waiting for Uto to release his built-up anger. However, Larisa did flinch when Uto's hair turned slightly pink.

It looked like Uto was about to kill Ammon but Larisa stepped in and stopped Uto.
"Ahem. Uto sir, please retain your anger for now. You can release it on him later. After all, you said you have a plan for Ammon's fate?"

Uto dropped Ammon to the ground. He breathed in and out several times.
"Hm. Thanks for reminding me, Larisa. Project: Dance of Fate is it?" he said once he had calmed down.

"Correct, sir."

"Very well then. Erian, if you can please lock up Ammon in the Type-0 Cell, and make sure that the Alagan Squad is guarding it 24/7, until I give the order to bring him to me when everything is ready. Got it?"

"Got it, sir! And you guys hear that? 24/7, every day until sir gives the order?!"

""Copy that!""

With the problem of Ammon out of the way, Uto, Reimei, Shion, and Evandrus could now work on the first phase of Project: Dance of Fate.
"Everyone, prepare to have some long working hours." Uto jokingly said.

"Aw man, don't we already work 24/7 for 6 days a week? How can we beat that?" Shion replied.

"Well, we just have to push that number to 7 days or a whole week!"

"Uto sir, you must be joking!" asked Shion.

"Of course, I'm joking, so don't worry Shion." Uto answered.

Shion breathed a sigh of relief as the others laughed.

"The project's first phase won't take long, just designing a character with below-average stats and placing him or her in a poor village where the Entanian troops would attack soon. Maybe in the Rouvil Kingdom?"

"Sir, the Rouvil Kingdom has been broken up into 4 separate countries, dubbed North, East, West and South Rouvil. Though North, East and South have been talking about uniting as the Union of the Rouvil Kingdoms and they had invited West but they had declined the offer, and instead opted to join the United Front Alliance instead of the Union's choice of joining the Second Entanian Alliance."

"Hm. Interesting. Thanks, Reimei. So should we put it in West Rouvil?"

"I heard plans about invading West Rouvil if it does join the United Front so I agree with you, sir. Ah, I forgot, it's still called the Western United Council. Silly me."

"It's no problem. So? When do they change their name from the Western United Council to the United Front Alliance?" Uto asked.

"I think they changed it when one of the Eastern nations, presumably the Federation of Dotirioga and Calcaneum joined the Council when they decided to launch an attack on the Senge Territory, controlled by the Cloud Empire. That's roughly 100 years in the future of the current timeline."

"Hmm. I see. How about you two? Got another place other than West Rouvil?"

"Nope. I do not, sir." Evandrus replied.

"Same here."

"Alright, very good. Now before you guys get to work, I want a character that is born and raised in a poor family and village and also lacks strengths while also having a lot of weaknesses as mentioned before."

"Understood. Shouldn't be too hard."

"Since we are creating a character why not give him or her an experimental weapon? Like Void's Extreme Multiplier?"

"Hm. Good idea, Shion. Sometimes your head gets good ideas from time to time."

"Hehe, thanks."

"So what should we give him or her?" Reimei asked.

"Oh, I know! How about that Sky Frontier weapon, you know, one that can basically block any attack by harnessing the atmosphere's pressure?"

"No, the weapon won't work well with a character like that." Reimei argued.

"Then how about the 'Emotionless' prototype? It grants the user fear resistance, strength and speed increase just by using the user's emotions. It should be perfect for a character like him or her." Evandrus proposed.

"If we give him something that powerful then I assume you want to test it in a battle with Void's Extreme Multiplier?" Uto asked Evandrus.

"Indeed."

"Very well then. I give you permission."

"Thank you very much, sir."

The 3 of them quickly returned to their posts and started to work on the character Uto asked them to make. Since Uto didn't specify a gender for the character, Reimei just used a coin flip, with heads for female and tails for male. She got tails unfortunately as she wanted the character to be female but rules are rules.
As she was working, she received a notification. It was quite strange as she didn't receive many notifications, let alone a notification from the System itself.

"Sir!" she yelled.

"What is it, Reimei?" asked Uto.

"Come here and take a look at this notification!" she said with urgency.

Uto made his way to Reimei's post and read the notification that was covering the entire screen.
"Ho? Let's take a look."

Uto took control of the computer from Reimei and put up a screen showing the fight between Void and Vula.
And after the screen was put up, a siren was alarmed. The emergency function was triggered by Void somehow. Uto ordered everyone in the Control Centre to try to stop the emergency function, which they were able to do, but it left a huge question in everyone's mind. What exactly triggered the emergency function?

Well, Uto was able to find the cause of it a bit later.
The Extreme Multiplier had empowered the Supernatural Ring causing a huge spike of Divine Essence, up to the levels of Divine Energy, overcapping the set limit for Divine Essence levels, thus leading to the trigger of the emergency function... is what Uto explained to everyone. But in reality, that was half-true.
The huge spike of Divine Essence won't trigger Level 5, the highest of the emergency function, let alone level 3 or above. What triggered the Level 5 emergency function was the 'level' up of 'that'.
So Void got pushed far beyond his limits during his fight with Vula and that was a condition to 'level' up 'that'? Hahahaha! I was foolish to think I chose the wrong person to implant 'that' but I was proven wrong. Show me what 'that' can do when it fully awakens, Void! Would you be the destroyer of my Empire or be the Saviour I always had hoped for?!
