Part-timers.

Many students decide to get a part time job so they can earn some money for themselves, and a shopping mall is also a place where you can usually find many of them doing this activity.

Department stores and some other shops have many part-timers on their staff, and they usually change every year or so, that’s why there are always new faces in the shopping malls.

One of those new faces is having a bad time on his first day, Sakai Hideo, the newest waiter at the Restaurant Shioi has not had the best first day, in fact it has been pretty disastrous.

For starters, he mixed up some orders, then he confused the check of two different tables and his coworkers haven’t done anything besides watching him struggling all day, so you can imagine how frustrated he is at this point.

He was sitting on the back of the mall, in one of the fire staircases eating his lunch, cursing everybody on his mind.

“Why do I have to tolerate this? I don’t even need the job, it’s just my stupid father’s idea.” He was thinking. “Why didn’t he give the job to someone else? I’m sure someone actually wants it, or at least needs it. Damn it!”

“Stupid food, stupid bills, stupid restaurant and STUPID MALL!” He shouted.

“I see, so this is why they asked me to look after you.”

He turned towards the direction that voice came, just to see a security guard standing at the top of the staircase.

“Who are you?” Asked Hideo.

“Isn’t it obvious? I’m a security guard.” Said while he walked down the stairs. “You know you are not even supposed to be here, right? These stairs are for emergencies.”

He didn’t answer anything, he just stood there while he came towards him.

“You should pick up your bento box, I doubt your mom would like to see it like that after all the work she put into making it. And your sister will also be pretty mad about it, so much so that she would probably take revenge on his husband, so it would better not make her angry.”

“How do you know about…”

“Didn’t you listen to what I said when I found you? They asked me to look after you to make sure you don’t get in trouble, all of them, your sister, your mom and your dad as well. It’s a pleasure to meet you Sakai Hideo, my name is Morita Ryoichi, and I am here to make sure you do a good job at your family’s restaurant.”
