Chapter 9:

INSTANT DUNGEON: INSTANT DEFEAT ?

The Sea God's Rise: Conquering a World of Magic and Faith

Looking at the floating screen and the information on it made me feel extreme with joy. Why? Because now I could level up without worrying about death. Well, the pain would still be there, but we all know embracing pain is what men do.

I called the system to show me my stats:

[HP: 220/220 STR: 19 AGI: 16 MP: 15 INT: 18 LUCK: 2]

[NOTE: YOU STILL HAVE 100* REWARD TICKETS AND 4000 GOLD COINS]

Oh, I totally forgot about the reward tickets. Well, whatever, I

would just use them after reaching level 5. After looking at my stats, I let

out a sigh.

"I don't know how strong I am as I have no one to compare with.

Even chat went silent after the trial." It's obvious that many people died in

the trial, and those who are still alive are in no mood to talk.

I used bone manipulation to make a katana and 10 bone bullets.

After this, I walked towards the ominous black hole and stretched my hand

towards it, and a prompt came:

[YOU ARE ENTERING THE STYGIAN DEPTHS OF MISERY]

As soon as this prompt came, everything went dark, and then the

next moment, there was light but very dim. In front of me was the dungeon's

first floor.

It had jagged walls that seemed to loom ominously in the dim light. The air was thick with a musty, earthy scent that hinted at the dampness of the place, and the sounds of dripping water echoed eerily through the tunnels. The ground was rough and uneven, with jagged rocks and sharp stalagmites jutting up from the ground at odd angles. The ceiling was so high that it was lost in darkness, and only the faintest glimmer of light filtered down from the surface far above.

I had just taken a step ahead, but suddenly, I felt a chill in

my backbone that traveled toward my whole body, jolting me. Having felt this

on the ship back then, I knew what this chill meant:

"DEATH"

I immediately cast a bone shield with my remaining mana to protect myself. And as I had suspected, after just a few seconds, a 'thud' sound was made as something came flying toward my shield and hit it.

After a few seconds, something hit again repeatedly, crashing made cracks in my shield, and with every attack, the cracks grew continuously. I was taken by surprise but soon regained my calm.

I commanded all the bone bullets to go out through the cracks. All the bullets that were hovering around me immediately went outside. I didn't waste any time and canceled bone shield, which was already tattered, and then I saw it: 'the monster.'

It was dark, so I could not see it clearly, but those green eyes of it were seen clearly, making me almost accept death. It sped and ran towards me. I waited for it to come close to me. My heart was thumping like crazy.

For a moment, I thought of running away, but then I recalled that 'A Wound On The Back Is a Disgrace To Man,' so I gritted my teeth and let it come to me. And as soon as it stepped into the 3-meter radius in front of me, I made my signature finger-down gesture, and with a sudden burst of air, all bullets rained down onto that 'monster,' making it flatten to the ground. After a few seconds of wailing, it died.

[YOU HAVE KILLED A LAPIS SNAKE LEVEL 5]

[GAINED 500 EXP]

[YOU LEVELED UP]

[CURRENT LEVEL 4]

Seeing this notification, I felt strength coursing through my body and my mind sharpening. "I just need one more level, let's go," I thought to myself as I walked toward the corpse of the monster. Upon closer inspection, it was a black, four-meter-long snake with a red jewel on its forehead. Remembering my devour talent, I decided to consume it, and so I moved toward the creature's remains.

As I approached the corpse, I heard a sudden swooshing sound.

" Huh, why is the world spinning around

why am I upside down, and

why the hell am I feeling so lightweight "

In the distance, I could see my body with a fountain of blood spurting out of it. It was then that a mantis-like monster with scythe-like hands came into view, laughing hideously.

Just as I realized that the creature was getting closer, another prompt appeared:

[YOU HAVE DIED, TRANSPORTING TO THE REAL WORLD. BRACE YOURSELF FOR PAIN]

My body disintegrated into pixels, and my head went flying. The monster seemed surprised by this turn of events but didn't mind as it dragged the snake deeper into the dungeon.
