Chapter 33:

New Prospects.

Hang in There Mister Guard!

The reason why Ryoichi already had interviews planned to replace Ikeda was not only because of the presumed robber said he seemed to recognize his voice, but also because he heard him and his friend when they said that inside the company they had a spoiled child and they needed to teach him a lesson, and he only inform the police about Ikeda and not the other guy because he needed to see his reaction to the news of his friend being involved in the attempt of robbery. And given that he looked genuinely surprised by the news he decided to let it slide for the time being. His father was the one doing the interviews, whenever someone arrived his son would cover his area in order to attend the meeting.

At the end of the day, after the last interview took place, he returned to the food stands to take his place.

"Thanks for your hard work." Said Ryoichi when his father arrived.

"It really is hard work, you know, we should have let your mom do the interviews instead."

"I'm sure she would rather work as a security guard."

"And she would be better at it than me, that's for sure."

They both laughed and then continued.

"Was anyone good?"

"Yes, some were, and I already decided who we are going to hire." Then he looked over at his son and with a calm voice said: "He will be a little hard to train, but be patient and he will turn out good."

"As you order, I know that you have chosen the most qualified one for the job."

"On the other hand, he is probably the least qualified person out of all of those who came today."

"Eh?" Asked Ryoichi confused. "Why did you choose him then?"

"Because the last person with the best qualifications for the job that we had is currently being investigated by the police." Answered him. "I don't want any of this happening ever again, so we better take the necessary procedures. From now on every single person we hire has to be someone you can rely on, I know of your current situation with the rest of the team, you don't really rely on them, for you they need supervision all the time. You can't keep working like that, you need to be able to trust in the people you are working with, that way you won't have to be so worried about everything."

Ryoichi remained silent for a few seconds, then he asked his father:

"How can I know if I can trust this new person?"

"It would be difficult at first, but you need to train them with the intention of making them someone you can trust and rely on all the time."
