Chapter 6:

Frying Pan, the Ultimate Weapon

My Little Sister is an Akaname!

A few days ago…

My back was hurting. It was as if somebody tried to split it open from the inside. I laid with my face down. Somebody stuffed a piece of cloth into my mouth so I wouldn’t bite my own tongue.

“We have to take him to the hospital, Daiya-san! Yuuya-kun is…”

“No, we can’t.” Dad whispered.

“Why not…?”

“We’re just like you and your daughter, Kana-chan. We all have secrets, but…Yuuya hasn’t realized it yet.”

My mind clouded from the pain, and I could not comprehend what he was saying.

“How’s Akame?” Dad asked.

“She…that girl must have done something.” Kaname-san replied, her voice trembling. “What do we do now…?”

This was all Akame’s fault.

That must be it. She was the cause of my pain.

My consciousness went hazy, and I closed my eyes. The darkness swallowed my pain away.

I looked at myself in the mirror, and tried to take a glimpse at my own back. There were two nasty bruises, like somebody shoved two lumps of shit under my skin and sewed it back up.

I swallowed and tried to raise my hand up. Pain shot through my body, and I had to stop.

What the fuck is going on with my body?

I need to get to the hospital. It was only a short distance from the school. I’m familiar with the route. I wouldn’t have any problem sneaking out there. I really wouldn’t.

When I stepped out of my bedroom, my knees gave out, and I fell face-first onto the floor.

What if I had an incurable disease?

Did Akame infect me with something?

I need to find Kaname-san. I need to get the answers from her.

My brain was hazy. I tried to lift myself from the cold floor.

“Nii-nii!!!”

Fear coursed through my whole body when I heard her small voice. Her footsteps approached me, and she touched me with her small fingers. I smacked her hand away.

“Don’t…touch…me!”

“Nii-nii…!”

Is she crying?

I’m suffering because of her. This was all her fault. Why could she not understand that?

Why would she not understand that she was in the wrong? I’m blaming her for all this. Was she pretending to care for me?

Stupid girl.

When I opened my eyes, she wasn’t there anymore. Just then, I felt a weight on my waist. Akame was lifting up my shirt, and started sucking on the bruise on my skin.

“Gaaaahhhh!!!” I felt like she was trying to pull my skin apart. “Get…off!”

I tried to move, but she pushed my body down. It was suffocating. I clawed the floor, trying to move myself forward. When I tried to call for help, my voice failed me.

Then, I blacked out.

Before I knew it, I was eating rice porridge. Akame sat across from me. She wore a hat with a brown bear on it. The clock struck nine in the morning. I could hear shuffling noises from the kitchen. Dad came down the stairs in his striped pajamas, his hair tied into a messy ponytail. He had stubble on his chin.

“Am I…cured?” I looked around, having no idea how I got here.

“Of course, son. You were asleep for four days. If you weren’t lying in the middle of the hallway that one day, you’d have gotten better sooner.” Dad pulled out a chair and sat. “Thanks for the food, Kana-chan.”

“No need to mention it. What a relief, right, Yuuya-kun? We were so worried about you.”

I stood up, got to the bathroom, and tried to take a look at my own back.

They’re gone. Those bruises were gone.

Because of Akame…? No way, maybe it was just some random disease that goes away on its own. That kid doesn’t have magic saliva or something, and I got these bruises because of her in the first place.

“Hey, Yuuya, finish your food.” Dad called, so I went back to sit. Akame just finished her plate.

“Mommy, seconds.” She held out her bowl.

“One sec, let me wash these dishes first.” Kaname-san turned the faucet on. Akame’s shoulders slumped. She stuck out her tongue and started licking the empty bowl…her tongue got longer and longer, and then her one-foot-long tongue wrapped around the entire bowl.

I glanced towards dad. He was reading a newspaper and did not notice.

Holy crap, that could not be a human tongue. She could set a world record for that!

Bang!

Something hard hit me on the head, and I fell from the chair, crashing into the ground.

“Oh my! The pan slipped from my hand! Yuuya-kun, are you alright?!”

You faker…
