Chapter 27:

The Start - Rouvil Revolution (Final Part)

Diary of Void: The Millennium War

Unknown Location, Rouvil Kingdoms Region

"How are things going?" Nadia asked Rharas.

"Pretty well, boss. We got Groups A, B and C in position and they are fully ready. Groups D, E and F are taking some time, but we should be able to get them ready by 9 PM."

"I see. Thanks for the report."

"No worries." he replied. Rharas was preparing to leave but Nadia asked him a question he couldn't ignore.

"Say..." she started. "Rharas, are you really ready for what's about to happen tomorrow?" she asks him.

"..."

"You can express yourself in this room, Rharas. No need to worry about what I say about your response."

"..." he paused. "Very well. To be honest... I am scared, boss."

"!?...That's an interesting answer. One that I didn't expect."

"I have been working–no, I have been with you for over 600 years by this point, so I could trust you with whatever crazy ideas you put forwards for our organisation. But... to be honest, this is the first time I have felt this amount of fear and pressure. Maybe it's because we are much larger now and I'm the second-in-command? Or is it the fear of failing this mission? I do not know," he continued. "But whatever you are planning, Nadia, I just what you to know, that I would follow and carry out my orders without fail. Even if it costs me my life."

"..."

Rharas left the room. And as he closed the door, he returned to his usual cold and icy personality.
"Before you go, Rharas, I would just like to thank you for giving me that honest opinion of yours."

The door paused for a second before it was shut. Nadia relaxed on her chair. She watched the sun rising up from her window and she questioned her existence.
Rharas... heh. I still remember the day when we first met. You were so cold towards me at the start... but as we spent more time together, we became closer and closer. But yet, why would you state that you would throw away your life just to carry out my orders without fail? I thought we were friends, best friends... family even. But yet, why would you? You are a person who doesn't lie when talking to me so I could trust that you were telling the truth.

"Rharas... that is one thing I just can't understand about you. Your unwavering loyalty towards me," she mumbled. Sighing, she dismissed the thought from her mind. "I hope I am the one who dies before you, Rharas. After all..."

"I'm just a puppet."

...

Capital City Blae, Cloud Empire

Total havoc was running among the administrative personnel of the Cloud Empire. Not only did they have to manage the Cloud Empire, home to well over two billion, but they would also have to manage their share of the Rouvil Union, namely the former East and most of the North Rouvil Kingdoms as the provinces of Juno, Rou, and Hepian border their territories.

"Do we have a status report yet?!" cried out a man.

"No, sir! We don't!" another man replied.

"Damn it! What the hell are those in the Rouvil Team doing?!"

The door which led to the room was suddenly wide open and everyone inside was staring at who opened it. Two humanoid figures entered the room those two were none other than Lieutenant General Vula and Shizuko.
"Heya everyone. I came here to deliver a report. Where's Johnny-boy?" she said.

A vein appeared on a man's forehead. He stood up in a rush and snatched the documents from Vula's hands.
"I'm here. And just so you know, never call me by that nickname again, you hear me?!"

Vula looked at the man, John, and laughed in his face. Another vein appeared on his forehead. "I'm afraid I cannot do that."

"Why not?!"

"Because you have some funny reactions when I tease you. Ah, but I would lower the amount of teasing I would do."

"Now, now, Vula, let's get out of here. We are taking up their precious time. You wouldn't want work to do yourself now, do you?" Shizuko said.

"Alright then, see you later Johnny-boy! Have fun dealing with the administrative stuff!"

And with that, the two of them left the room as fast as they entered it. A wave of shock froze most of the staff members in the room but that was broken by John, their leader.

"Everyone, get back to work! We are already behind schedule due to the Rouvil Team's lack of reports but the intrusion made by the Lieutenant General is indeed unexpected, but we would need to catch up!" he shouted. "What are you doing? Stop staring! Get back to work!"

Everyone every so slightly started to do their work again. And before long, the intrusion by Vula was already a thing of the past. Once John had confirmed everyone is doing their jobs, he sat down at his desk looking at the report delivered by his former superior, Lieutenant General Vula. While being a General himself, he technically ranks higher than Vula, which in turn means he is her senior, however, the Cloud Empire makes a special case for Vula. She holds immense power, far, far beyond what a normal Lieutenant General would have, to the point some in the upper elite are worried about her gaining too much power. That is because of a selfish request that she made over 170 years ago when she had her General promotion party, in which she outright refused the second-highest rank one can achieve. However, despite all that, she wished to stay at her current rank, a Lieutenant General.
Now I'm thinking about that, Vula, you are one hassle to deal with huh? But never mind that, let's see what the report she delivered has to say.

He deactivated the barrier protecting the message from harm and opened the letter-like device inside. Entering his password for the device to ensure it was getting to the right person, he started reading it. Not even ten seconds in, he couldn't believe what he was reading. Videos and pictures were present to give more details, but that added to the fire.

"I want to talk with the Minister of State Affairs! Get him over here!" shouted out to one of his men.

"Roger!" he replied back.

And within minutes, Henri Banon, the Cloud Empire's Minister of State Affairs was sitting opposite of John in his office. The young-looking but terribly organised man has black hair and dark brown eyes and his bones are visible through his skin due to how skinny he is.

"What did you call me here for?" he asked John in a sleepy tone. John looked around his office, looking through the windows if anyone is trying to overhear them talking, before leaning in close and whispering into Henri's ears.
"Listen closely," he whispered. "Around ten minutes ago, our former superior, Vula, just had given me a report."

"Yeah? So what?" he answered.

"Well, here's the thing. In the report, there are pictures and videos to give a clear image of what happened there, and the main point of the report was..."

"Go on."

"All 36 members of the Rouvil Administrative Team were killed."

Henri's eyes widened with shock.
"You serious?" he asked back.

"Dead serious man. This isn't a topic I can handle easily. But as the head of the Cloud Empire's administrative division, it is my responsibility to get to the bottom of this. I can't do much alone, so I'm requesting your help, Henri."

John lowered his head to Henri which made him uncomfortable. And unable to refuse, Henri accepted John's request.
"Thank you so much Henri!"

"No problems..."

"For now, I would need to face Vula again for more information about the subject... and you should try to get the help of our former comrades of the Grans Gold."

"The Grans Gold... I haven't heard that name in centuries." a spark of nostalgia overwhelmed Henri as he went back into his memories back when he was still in his early stages of deployment—the Grans Gold. Founded a little over 300 years ago, the Grans Gold was considered by many as the most substantial group in the Cloud Empire. Some even claimed that it was the most substantial group in the world. They had a good reason to think this since the famous Lieutenant General Vula was the captain of that group. After founding the group, it rose through the ranks of Assemblage and Upper Assemblage in a matter of days. Compared to most groups, who would take an average time of four months just to get to Assemblage and then a further two years to reach Upper Assemblage, Grans Gold was already climbing the ranks with light speed.
They were stopped at Upper Assemblage for a few weeks before being promoted to Combata rank, then Elitist Combata, Nova, and then finally at Hyperia They were kept at the rank of Hyperia for a year. And after that year was up, they moved on to Bia rank, the third highest rank. A decade passed before they were all Colonels, the minimum rank for a Cleta-ranked group and after that, with their achievements and feats during the Fall of the Pravlo Empire, they were given the status of Victoria—the highest rank one's group can achieve.

And to this day, even after 130 years since the disbandment of the Grans Gold, Henri still cannot believe that he, along with John, Mercans, Hyan, Ceta, and Yuan made it to Victoria rank basically within a decade.

"Hey." a stern voice interrupted his nostalgia. It was Hyan. His face was still quite raggy and covered with wounds he had received during his time as the vanguard of Grans Gold, but still very so recognisable. "You not greeting your former teammate, Henri?"

"Hyan!" Henri cried out. "No time no see man! How are you doing?"

"I'm good. By the way, care to fill what's is going on?"

"Sure thing. But first, I think it would be faster if we gather up all our former teammates of the Grans Gold first. It's quite important and I would only like to repeat it once."

Hyan looked Henri dead in the eyes. A chill went down Henri's spine.
"I see you are still in your prime."

"Of course I am. No matter how many years have passed, I will always be in my prime, as the Grans Gold's second vanguard."

"That's great then. I guess you can pull Yuan out of her room."

"Pulling her out of her room again? Fine by me. That will be my little gift for her." he snicked evilly as he walked went to get Yuan.

Henri watched Hyan leave the office before he himself went off to work.
Apart from Captain Vula, I would only have to go get Mercans and Ceta. Ceta won't be too much of a problem, but Mercans is going to be my biggest headache. If I'm not mistaken, he's living lavishly with all the fame, money and power he had acquired during his time as a Victoria-rank vanguard. If he's not going to work with us, then that's fine I think. But either way, he's going to be a massive helping hand if he decides to join us.

Henri went off to Ceta's current home (location provided by John) to recruit her. He wondered how he would try to convince Mercans to help them, but it was no use. He was unable to think of a plan.

Meanwhile, something else was brewing up in the capital city of the Rouvil Union...

Captial City Gryam, (Eastern Rouvil Kingdom) Rouvil Union

A huge explosion suddenly occurred from the top of the city's tallest skyscrapers. Confusion ran among the public nearby where the explosion had taken place. As the people flee from the falling rubble, a new danger arises for them. An unknown group of soldiers, equipped with urban camo uniforms, guns, and smart devices, started causing mass destruction and death, killing thousands within hours.
Similar events occurred all around the city of Gryam, the capital city of the Rouvil Union.

The attack has begun. The start of the Rouvil Revolution had begun. Fifteen thousand troops attack the city of Gryam alone, with over one hundred thousand all over the Union's major cities. The public safety and order soldiers stationed in the cities of Gryam, Kanpe, Allalans, Bushan, and Gred'las were entirely massacred, with not even a single one able to report back to their homelands, the Cloud Empire, Groyu or Futosaire. They died in the line of duty.

...

Emperor's Castle, Captial City Blae, Cloud Empire

"Ho?" a scoff came from the Emperor. She was in a state of low shock, after reading the report that Arni Leifur has given to her. She clicked her tongue as she thought up her next plans. Before long,
"Klavs, get me Second Seat and Third Seat of the Guardians, would you? I will be assigning them to this mission."

"Roger that."

It was ten minutes after the initial attack on most of the major cities of the Rouvil Union, and the damage already had reached Emperor Yuu De La Izumi's ears. Arni Leifur sat uncomfortably next to the Emperor, with her body jolting and shaking at the slightest of sounds from the Emperor. She was scared of the Emperor despite her being one of the highest honours one can attain in the Cloud Empire, the Right Throne Seat, nicknamed the 'Angel' seat, Arni still hasn't gotten used to the presence of the real Emperor.

Time was ticking, and as Klavs went to get Second and Third Seat of the Guardians, Shizuko and Vula respectfully, the battle raged on in most of the Rouvil Union's major cities. The Emperor orders the deployment of the newly stationed thirty thousand troops near the border to capture and protect the nearest major cities to the Rouvila-Cloudian border so they would have an easy time sending troops into the Union to liberate the country.

"It's time for an all-out attack," the Emperor mutters. "Arni, Klavs!"

""Roger!"" they both replied at the same time.

"Show our enemies the might of our empire."

"I have been waiting to hear that." Klavs replied over the radio.

"Of course, my liege. I will live up to your expectations."

Emperor Yuu De La Izumi sat back on her throne as she plotted her next moves. At the same time, Kilovos' leader, Nadia did the same. This is a conflict between a few of the world's most bright, cunning and powerful figures to exist. And both sides knew that fact.
