Chapter 20:

Boss Bull Orc

Hacker Class

Light McKing stood over a pile of orc bodies, all of them beaten to death by him. Blood covered his body, staining his gold armor that had once been shiny. Behind all the red blood that covered his face were his eyes, his eyes were set on an entranceway, and the entrance led from the cave tunnel he was currently in into a massive cavern. Inside of Light McKing's eyes one a vigorous flame. The reason was that what he sought was inside the cavern.

Slowly, Light rose into the air before turning around and speaking to the rangers behind him, "The boss is mine, interfere and I WILL KILL YOU."

The rangers heard his voice very clearly and shuddered at the intense killing intent he released. They felt their legs grow weak and their hearts beat faster. Most of them forgot to breathe in the presence of a person who held ultimate power. Light then turned away and flew away, into the cave. The ultimate fight was about to begin.

"Why on earth did you ask us to follow you then?" One of the rangers thought to himself as he watched the powerful youngster disappear into the cave. The ranger turned to glance behind him at the trail of dead orc bodies. Most of them had fallen at Light's hand. The ranger turned his attention back to where Light had disappeared. "What are you? A monster?"

Alden could feel himself losing concentration. He had been controlling his puppet for a while and his HP was low. He had lost concentration for a split second and a bull orc had knocked into him, causing him to fly a distance away. Alden's vision felt blurry and he struggled to get up. Then he heard the sound of a bull orc roaring, he looked up to see an axe coming down on him. Alden tried to move but his body felt stiff, it was like one of those dreams where you were being chased by a monster and even though you tried your utmost to run, you couldn't move a muscle. The only difference was that if he failed to move now, he would die. Alden forced himself to use every ounce of willpower he had, he tried his best to move but he failed, it was like he was pushing against some great wall. It seemed pointless.

Alden could helplessly watch his impending doom and hope that maybe, something or someone would save him.

But it was as if everything was in slow motion, It was like he was supposed to witness every second of it. It was like he should tattoo the experience in his mind so he could properly remember his last moments.

But then something happened. He saw a glimmer of hope, a miracle occur before his eyes. It was like a fantasy hero making a last-minute appearance to save the day. Alden was however sure of one thing, be it fantasy or not, had this miracle not happened, his bright sunny day would turn into a dark nightmarish night.

Before him, clad in simple light armor, was Lyle. Streaks of electricity crackled and raced across his body and he stood before Alden, his daggers raised, ready to deflect the axe. Alden had no idea how he got there but he was sure of one thing, Lyle wouldn't block the attack with his weak daggers. What Lyle was doing was using his own body as a human shield. In that split moment, Alden could not understand why Lyle would sacrifice his life to protect someone he barely knew.

But then something crashed into the orc and sent him flying away, the axe that had almost eliminated Alden and Lyle missed its target and got wedged in the ground. Before they stood their savior, a large and fierce beast with a shiny black coat of fur. Skip, the tamed beast of Lily, stood before him. He was a tiger from the monster species of "Midnight Tigers".

"How are you feeling, damsel in distress?" Lily joked to her brother from where she stood beside the tiger.

Alden just stayed on the ground, in his head, a thousand wheels were turning as he tried to process mentally what had just occurred. He could not. His mind had been designed to believe that anyone who helped him would take something from him. That was his belief which he had kept as solid as stone but...He lifted his gaze to stare at where Lyle was busy playfully arguing with his sister. That man had been ready to sacrifice his life for Alden but...what could he take from Alden that was worth his life?

"But why?" Alden asked as he got up. "Why did you save me?"

Lyle turned towards him from where he had been speaking to his sister.

Lyle smiled and countered his question with another question, "But, why wouldn't I?"

Alden could only stare on, stunned as a thousand different emotions whirled around within his body. Admiration, awe, appreciation, and most of all, trust. The feeling he had hoped to never see again made itself known.

Alden could feel his heart soften as he watched the siblings before him, he began to regain hope that maybe, there still existed those who could be trusted.

Suddenly, a large sound was heard and a wall of the dungeon burst open. From it, a body that seemed three times the size of a human flew through and crashed into the opposite wall. Giant pieces of rubble and debris filled the cave, covering most of the cave while burying plenty of orcs and rangers underneath. From the hole in the wall, flew out Light McKing, green energy whirled around his body and a killer look sat in his eyes.

He cast a single gaze towards the rangers who were there before turning away and shooting through the air like a shooting star, into what seemed like the boss of the dungeon.
