Chapter 0:

The Unexpected Jump

The Tragedy of Kingdom Come

It all started in the year of 1033 of the 'Holy Imsdal' calendar. The air in Haraa's nursery room felt charged with an otherworldly energy, setting the stage for an event that would shape the destiny of a young boy named Haraa Herionia.

"Wake up, Haraa! We must go!" a woman shouted, her voice carrying a sense of urgency that echoed in the room. "We have to go right now!" Haraa, in a sleepy state, barely able to comprehend the ongoing situation, speaks, "Mother?" with no reply coming to him. "What is going on?" Haraa spoke with a faint and sleepy voice, only to see his mother quickly grab him and throw him into the arms of his father.

"Listen to me now, Haraa," his father said. "Me and your mother have complicated things, we have traveled more than we perhaps should have, we have gained far too much attenti-" (interrupted by screaming outside)

"They are here," the mother and father speak in unison. "What is going on?" Haraa thinks to himself. "Nothing makes sense anymore. I have never seen my parents worry; they are always so calm and collected... what happened? Why aren't they saying anything? Nothing makes sense."

"Listen, Haraa, just remember. Your parents' work is frowned upon, we are regarded as 'Paradox Creators,' we work for the greater good. You will too, one day. But we must send you off, we only have the power to send one of us away, and so, as our legacy, you will live on. You will inherit and learn to concentrate your powers much more than we have. Now, you must go. We know not where we will send you to, but surely, someone will be kind enough to take you in." The father points his open palm towards the far end of the nursery room, through shimmering golden light, a blue square appears, with seemingly nothing but emptiness in it. Haraa, upset and engulfed in tears and worry, looks to his mother. "You will be alright, Haraa. Just remember where you come from. Remember, you are a Heronia, farewell now, my boy," she says with a meager smile on her face.

"Farewell, son," the father says, as he throws Haraa through what can only be described as a portal to a far-off world. "I do hope we will see each other again, my son," is the only thing to be heard as the shimmering golden light once more appears, and the blue square dies out. The portal is gone. All that can be seen is the disappearing shimmering lights behind the grassy green plains of an unknown area and the faint smell of chamomile tea.

"So, what happened with the mighty and wise High King Haraa of Heronia?" The Playmaker says. "I will tell you the wonderful, or perhaps the ever so tragic tale of 'Kingdom Come,'" he continued.

The scent of chamomile tea lingered in the air as Haraa, now known as High King Haraa of Heronia, began his journey through the enigmatic realms of "Kingdom Come." The 'Holy Imsdal' calendar marked the beginning of a tale that intertwined the complexities of magic, time, and destiny. Little did Haraa know that his journey would not only shape his own fate but also unveil the mysteries of a world where paradoxes were woven into the fabric of existence.
