Chapter 6:

Chap 6 - A Thick Plot Armor

Bloodline Ascension

"I arrived here just yesterday, and from what I recall, I only extended an invitation to Miss Bai for a drink.

"-Even her father accepted the invitation and sent her to me, didn't he?" With each word, he relentlessly delivered punches to Lin Jie's abdomen, inhibiting his Qi circulation.

Xia Wei sneered as he fixed his gaze upon Lin Jie's face, injecting his Qi into his head. He aimed to seal off Lin Jie's Dantian and obliterate his meridians.

"Impudent!" However, just as Xia Wei's Qi was about to infiltrate Lin Jie's body, a resounding, authoritative voice echoed through the room, accompanied by a tremendous surge of Qi that crashed into them.

The impact sent both Xia Wei and Lin Jie hurtling backward, colliding with the splintered wooden wall.

The force unleashed wasn't lethal, but it could inflict severe injuries upon anyone below the Core Formation realm.

Rising to his feet effortlessly, Xia Wei dusted off his clothes, his gaze filled with a frown and icy coldness as he stared at the intruder.

The push hadn't caused significant harm to him, yet he was more intrigued by the audacity of the person who had dared to invade his room.

"You insolent brat! You've not only killed my daughter but also attempted to harm my disciple of the Thousand Illusionary Sect?! Even though you hail from the Upper World, such actions will no longer be tolerated!"

Through the shattered doorway, a middle-aged man stood tall, towering at 215 centimeters. His long gray hair, intermingled with hints of silver and gold, billowed in the wind.

His piercing black eyes brimmed with a murderous aura as they locked onto Xia Wei. Behind him, several Elders of the Thousand Illusionary Sect and disciples encircled the room from all directions.

Confronted with this predicament, Xia Wei stood his ground, calmly observing the gathering before fixing his gaze on Lin Jie, who was being approached by one of the Elders.

But just as the Elder was about to make contact, Lin Jie abruptly vanished into thin air.

"What an impenetrable defense, akin to a heavenly gift in the form of a meat pie."

Internally, Xia Wei commanded the System to mark him.

However, as his Qi attempted to embed itself in Lin Jie before his body completely faded away, the heavens roared, sending a thunderous strike that reverberated through Xia Wei's Qi, causing it to revert back to its natural state.

[Task failed!]

[Attempting to mark the target again...]

[ERROR! Target not found within the designated area!]

[Failed to mark the target!]

Tsk, even the divine will protects him, he lamented, shaking his head in disappointment.

Meanwhile, furrows formed on the foreheads of the onlookers, particularly the towering middle-aged man, whose eyes bulged with fury as he glared at the handsome young man who stood unaffected, brushing off his words as if they were fleeting whispers, showing neither attention nor willingness to provide an explanation.

"Brat! It would be wise for you to answer our patriarch's query. He may resolve this matter peacefully!" One of the elders spoke, cupping his hands while emanating Qi, poised to strike at a moment's notice.

Yet, instead of responding or acknowledging the elder's words, Xia Wei simply diverted his gaze in a different direction.

"You dare to court death by disregarding my words! Behold the might of the Dance of The Wielder II!" The towering middle-aged man, known as the Patriarch and father of Miss Bai, bellowed with bloodshot eyes, thrusting his sword with unyielding force toward Xia Wei.

The distance between them wasn't vast, as Xia Wei stood on the elevated ground, surveying the scene from the staircase just outside his room. The Patriarch leaped forward, his presence causing the air to tremble.

The Qi surrounding Xia Wei began to exhibit an unsettling anomaly. The once serene and smoothly flowing energy, adorned with a gentle, faint blue glow, erupted into chaos. In an instant, the single thrust of a sword multiplied into ten shadowy blades.

The elders and disciples prudently distanced themselves from the impending attack, leaving Xia Wei alone to face the assault.

The tide had turned, transforming Xia Wei from the predator to the prey. Dodging the attack seemed impossible.

The sheer force behind this strike had the potential to inflict grave injuries upon him, even at the Peak-Stage of the Core Formation realm. Unless he possessed a life-saving talisman or artifact, Xia Wei's survival appeared futile.

"Know your place, you insignificant insect!" Unexpectedly, a voice resonated from behind Xia Wei, suppressing its underlying anger.

Simultaneously, the glorious ten shadows of swords were obliterated by a colossal figure, dispersing them into a burst of Qi.

"Do not kill him, Old Ping," Xia Wei interjected calmly, seemingly oblivious to the presence of those individuals, his tone remaining flat as he locked his gaze upon the figure standing beside him.

BOOM!

All the elders and disciples in the vicinity were forcefully pressed to the ground, their bodies appearing as if they were being crushed from above.

Beads of sweat dripped down their pale faces as they endured severe injuries, blood seeping from their mouths.
