Chapter 19:

Chap 19 - A Constellation’s Power

Bloodline Ascension

"Who said I'm a good person?" Xia Wei's voice carried a hint of defiance. "Just because I didn't kill the Patriarch or destroy his sect this time doesn't mean I won't in the future." As he spoke, Qian Ya's body suddenly defied gravity, hovering in the air and slowly drifting closer to Xia Wei.

"In your case," Xia Wei continued, his tone laced with disdain, "the sect spared you due to your contribution and naivety. But now, not only did you dare to poison my wine, but you also have the audacity to appear before me and try to negotiate."

"Isn't this akin to courting death?" he added, a touch of threat in his words.

With her height nearly reaching 170cm, Qian Ya resisted being pulled toward Xia Wei by gripping the wooden floor with both hands.

Her nails scraped against the floor, emitting a piercing sound. As she resisted, a peculiar phenomenon unfolded between them.

The starlit sky suddenly intensified, casting its radiant glow over Qian Ya's body. Her defiance against Xia Wei's force began to influence the surrounding Qi, shattering the faint illusion of blue claws.

Simultaneously, Xia Wei felt his Qi power dissipating into thin air, witnessing Qian Ya blocking his strength. He couldn't help but be taken aback.

"What in the world is that?" Xia Wei pondered, his gaze drawn to the source of the celestial light that enveloped Qian Ya, descending from the sky.

Countless stars, with intricate patterns, seemed to come alive, bestowing upon her an infinite wellspring of power.

Stars? No, more like a constellation. How is she capable of such a phenomenon? Xia Wei wondered, his eyes fixed on Qian Ya.

Now back at her original position, Qian Ya panted heavily, beads of sweat drenching her body and matting her black hair, leaving her plain white Hanfu drenched.

...

Meanwhile, from Qian Ya's perspective:

He's dangerous! She realized, her body suffused with the Qi of Constellations. They had claimed he had recently advanced to the Nascent Soul Realm, but that power couldn't possibly be from the early stage!

Various thoughts raced through her mind. Although she could currently handle his power, she knew she would be helpless when his guardian made a move.

Externally, her face and expression appeared composed, albeit flushed due to resisting his power. But internally, panic gripped her.

How did he suddenly become stronger? This goes against the plan! His cultivation was supposed to be stuck at Core Formation, and ultimately, he would have to ascend, bringing shame upon his family.

Then his position as the heir would be publicly replaced by his sibling, she silently lamented.

"Interesting," she remarked, observing Xia Wei's glowing slit pupils. His playful gaze transformed into a calm demeanor, and a tremendous Qi gathered behind him, heralding another impending attack.

If she couldn't provide a satisfactory or reasonable answer, this attack would inflict severe injuries upon her! Memories flashed through her mind, and she desperately raced to conjure a solution.

Techniques are futile; the Xia family relies on their bloodline! Pills, he surely possesses an abundance of pills! But power... oh, sh*t! She inwardly screamed.

Acting on instinct, her body gathered the power of the constellation, the stars shining brightly, forming an image of a tiger's leg.

"Hooh?" Xia Wei was surprised by her stratagem, a sudden idea igniting in his mind. Urgently, she shouted at the top of her lungs, "Please stop, young master! If you kill me now, my soul will return to the stars, and you'll never have a chance to delve into my memories!"

Both of them stood amidst the wreckage of the shattered long table, a casualty of the collision that occurred when Qian Ya resisted Xia Wei's power.

Words spilled from her mouth without forethought, a desperate plea escaping as she witnessed Xia Wei's unyielding determination.

Meanwhile, from Xia Wei's perspective, her declaration caused his immense Qi to freeze in mid-air, the exerted power dissipating into nothingness.

His gaze fixed on her, and he proceeded to issue a command to the system. "System, mark her," he commanded, feeling a fraction of his Qi separate from his body and seamlessly embed itself onto Qian Ya's form.

"Old Ping," Xia Wei addressed, his once amicable tone replaced by a casual yet commanding air. His eyebrows furrowed as he folded his hands.

A sudden shadow flickered, distorting the moon's silvery light as a figure materialized from thin air.

'Rather than an immortal, you appear more like a ninja,' Xia Wei mused inwardly, observing how Old Ping emerged seamlessly and knelt beside him.

"Yes, young master!" Old Ping, ever ready at his master's service, responded with respect, cupping his hands. Leaves adorned his Hanfu, indicating his proximity to Xia Wei.

"You may rise. I have a question: Can you prevent her soul from entering the cycle of reincarnation?" Xia Wei inquired casually, his gaze fixed on Old Ping, who lowered his head.

On the other hand, Qian Ya, upon hearing his words, widened her delicate brown eyes, her body gradually enveloped in the shimmering power of stars. Her labored breaths steadied as her narrowed eyes locked onto Xia Wei.

She regarded him with wariness, her lower lip caught between her teeth, drawing a trace of blood. She seemed poised to sacrifice her life at any moment. However, her trembling hands and quivering body betrayed her internal fear, reminiscent of a frightened cat.
