Chapter 53. Condition

“You have been a thorn in my sight since day one, commoner. I think it’s about time we put you back in your place.” Luke commented as the group had Ken encircled after leading him to a dark alley.

“Luke. I will stop with the pretending. You don’t like me, I don’t like you. I won’t do anything to you because of your status and you won’t do anything to me because of Clare and Cecilla. You should just focus on your training instead of spending so much time on me since it won’t get either of us anywhere.” Ken replied, getting tired of having to deal with Luke.

Suddenly, the nobles surrendering Ken started to scream and shout loudly while Ken looked on in confusion in the middle.

“What are you people doing!” Lovetta screamed as she rushed to the scene and saw the group surrendering Ken while screaming but was unable to push through to see exactly what’s going on.

“Lovetta! Why didn’t you go back to the academy? Don’t escalate anything alright?” Ken pleaded while still surrendered by Luke’s goons and not able to see Lovetta clearly.

“I have told you before mutt. If you kept on getting in my face. I will make you pay. But I guess since the commoner knows his place better than you. We might as well take it out on him instead.” Luke laughed as the nobles continued to scream while blocking Ken from Lovetta’s view.

“Get away from him! If you want to come at me, come at me!” Lovetta screamed as the rage in her was ready to explode from the constant taunting over the years and the fact that she couldn’t see what’s going on between Ken and the nobles.

“Hey boys. Let’s show this commoner what it means to mess with us!” Luke shouted at his goons as they got even louder while not doing anything to Ken at all.

However, with her boiling point reached, Lovetta lost her rationality and even with Ken trying to calm her down through the shouting telling her that they are not doing anything to him.

The fight or flight instinct within her took over and as she let out a howl, her clothes started to rip and in front of the group, the once beautiful girl is now a giant gray wolf growling and snarling with her fangs bare and without an ounce of humanity left.

With saving Ken the only thought in her mind, Lovetta leaped through the enclosement around Ken to easily reach him and with protecting him the only thought on her mind, Lovetta was ready to fight off anyone that dared harming her lover.

“HAHAHAHA. He’s really fucking a dog!” Luke said, bursting into laughter.

Confused as to what's happening, Lovetta looked around and instead of seeing people looking for a fight, all she could see were nobles pointing and laughing at her.

“What a disgrace to our race. To think any human would stoop so low. I could at least understand the elves since they let you hide behind them? Do you not have any shame for the entire world to see a human going around fucking animals and lizards like they are our equals? Disgusting. But this. This is too funny. To think a human would actually mate with a dog! Just look at it!” Luke said in disgust.

Bursting into more laughter with his goons while pointing at Lovetta. The wolf girl is now in a state of total confusion. Looking to fight off anyone to protect the one she loves but is now the laughtstock and the cause of their disdain towards him, fleeing the scene in total panic was the only thing the wolf girl could do in the state of confusion.

As she quickly ran away without even looking at Ken, with her sharp hearing, she would keep hearing the laughter long after she was out of sight.

“Luke, you went too far this time. I can’t just laugh it off when you went this far to humiliate my girl.” Ken said as calmly as he could while trying his best to control his anger and be rational.

“What are you going to do, commoner? You want to start a war with the kingdom of Darrumburgh?” Luke laughed.

“I am not stupid, Luke. I know I won’t be able to do anything to you without facing harsh consequences. So obviously I will do the only thing possible. I will destroy you during the next tournament for the entire world to see.” Ken said in a serious tone before rushing away to chase after Lovetta without caring what or if Luke had anything to say.

Chasing after Lovetta while looking at every corner all the way out of town into the eastern shore, Ken searched the area slowly in the darkness of the night for the wolf girl.

While the western shore of the island was full of beautiful white sand and a beautiful beach without many obstacles and normally full of students playing and partying. The eastern shore is full of jagged rocks and a rocky beach and other than the occasional fisherman, it’s not often visited.

Finally spotted the wolf girl from the reflection of the moonlight, blending in amongst the sharp rocks curled up in a corner completely naked, Ken rushed over to make sure Lovetta was doing alright.

“I don’t want to be that person, Lovetta, but what did I tell you about not messing with Luke.” Ken said gently as he sat down next to the wolf girl.

“Someone said you were fighting them and I couldn’t see anything so I panicked.” Lovetta replied softly.

“That was cool though. I knew you told me you are a werebeastman since our first meeting but I have totally forgotten about it. I guess Luke and his goons somehow figured out you could transform and turned it into a joke. Care to explain what triggers the transformation and how long it lasts? Not user friendly that you would need to strip or buy new clothes though.” Ken asked, both curious about her ability while also trying his best to cheer Lovetta up.

“When we are cornered in a fight or flight situation or if very well trained like my father who can do it whenever he desires, we can turn into the wolf form and it will last until we run out of stamina. It was the first time I have ever turned and from what it felt, I think it’s similar to how boost works where I could feel my stamina draining but I was definitely much stronger than normal.” Lovetta answered.

“Thanks Lovetta. But next time, maybe listen to me more instead of getting so worked up. alright? I really appreciate how you are always there to defend me even when you are so shy and have a hard time talking to people normally. But you know, I am freaking strong now. Let me be the one who will protect you, okay?”

“You should have just told Luke that we have never even had sex. You could have avoided all that harassment he was saying about you sleeping with a dog if you just told him the truth.” Lovetta said softly.

“Close your eyes Lovetta. Double boost.” Ken said softly. A moment later, with his hand placed around her midsection, an instant explosion brightened the already pitch dark sky for a brief moment.

“What a crude spell. I definitely don’t appreciate someone else getting this close to my woman.” Ken said calmly after removing the protection from Lovetta.

“They did make sure to get a woman to place the protection on but since when could you remove it and why haven’t you done so already?” Lovetta asked, shocked that Ken had just removed her protection.

“Well. For you, Emma and Genesis. I could have done it after my training with Seraphina’s dad during the break and with my training so far, I am pretty sure I could do it for Alice as well.

The reason why I haven’t done it is mainly because of Clare. Since her spell is at such a high level, I am still a ways off from doing it and I don’t want her to feel left out if I removed the spell from the rest of you and she ended up being the only one.”

“Makes sense, Clare is your first love after all.” Lovetta replied with a hint of envy.

“I mean. I know we are sort of all used to it now but it’s still awkward to have an audience every time I am making love with Cecilla. I never knew things would turn out like this Lovetta. When I first started falling in love with you girls, I thought it would be easy. But every time I see a cute girl that attracts me and I fall in love, the more messy things get and I don’t even know what I am supposed to do anymore.”

“You got Emma who’s been with you since birth. Clare is your first love. Alice is your soulmate. Cecilla is the only person you have been having sex with. Genesis who loves you so much she could learn space magic in three days. Seraphina who is so cheerful and strong.

While you got me, terrible at school, not smart like Alice, Clare or Cecilla. I was the one who needed your help and still couldn’t pass any written exam. Not born gifted like Seraphina and with how smart you are, even when I am supposedly good at physical enhancement, you are no doubt stronger than I am now.

I guess Luke is right. I am not a princess that could protect you. I am just a dog and by trying to stand up for you, I just make things worse. I guess I really am just an embarrassment for you to be around.” Lovetta said as her voice began to quiver.

“Lovetta, don’t make me smack you. Without you, do you think I could be where I am today? Without you standing up for me when everyone else thought I was nothing but a loser who didn’t belong here. Do you think I could have had the confidence to act the way I did? Without you being there for me since day one, do you think I could have lasted almost 3 years here with all of the harassment a commoner normally goes through?

It’s true that when I saw Clare, I fell in love with her looks. She is without a doubt the most beautiful girl I have ever seen and that’s never going to change. But I didn’t know her, I didn’t know who she was. It was simply a man’s desire for a beautiful girl.

But you, you are so shy that you couldn’t even talk to people yet whenever someone said anything bad about me. You would not back down. You would stand up for me no matter who is talking down to me even today. You are my rock, Lovetta. You are the one who has been with me since day one and I know no matter what I am going through or how bad things might get. You will be there to support me. Don’t ever say something stupid like you are an embarrassment ever again.

I will beat Luke in the tournament at the end of the school year. I will destroy him and show the world how much stronger I am. I know I am a mess and have no clue how to handle all the relationships I have foolishly started but one thing I want you to understand is that you mean the world to me. I will never ever feel like you are anything but the rock that’s keeping me steady so please don’t ever change.

Even if I am scolding you for getting into it with Luke. I might be secretly happy that you are always standing up for me even against someone like him. BUT! Please don’t do it anymore because he might actually start a freaking war if we make him angry.” Ken said with a slight chuckle at the end.

Without replying, Lovetta jumped into Ken’s arm and started passionately kissing him and the two eventually started making love in the darkness with the occasional reflection from the moonlight shining across the ocean waves reflecting their figures.

“You know Lovetta. Your dad offered to break the protection for me when I visited all those years ago. And it feels so weird to walk without having some underpants on.” Ken said casually as the two started heading back to the academy with Lovetta wearing Ken’s shirt and underpants.

“And why did it not happen?” Lovetta questioned.

“I was stupid! I was caught off guard when he offered and I said something that made me seem like I was a good boy.” Ken answered with a smile.

“More like a dumb boy.” Lovetta replied while holding onto Ken tightly.

“Hey! You are supposed to be on my side, Lovetta! Now I don’t even know how to face the rest when we get back. If I knew things would get this messy. I wish time travel was a thing so I can go back to the days where it was just you, me and Clare.”

“Just you and me would be even better.” Lovetta replied as the two walked slowly back to the academy.

“Well, there is no way to go back in time so guess it’s what it is and I will just have to figure things out one step at a time. I guess before anything else, I need to make sure I face off against Luke and beat his ass.” Ken said, wondering how he could get stronger as fast as he could.

“I think before anything else, you will probably face the wrath of Alice and Genesis for keeping the fact you could have removed the protection a secret for all this time.”

“Lovetta! I don’t want to think about that. Whatever happens, happens. I don’t have the energy or ability to deal with everything that’s going on. I will just apologize and hope for forgiveness and hope things will work themselves out.” Ken replied, not wanting to think about all the girl drama while also having to try and get strong enough to handle Luke and having to worry about Xandrian and how to handle the whole deal with Clare.

Thanks to the darkness of the night and how late it was, not many people were around to stare at the shirtless Ken as the pair quickly got back to the common room and headed up the stairs to their suite where Ken wasn’t sure if he was ready to face the girls.
