From the mist that was the confusion I felt in my head, which was now hurting, I managed to hurl myself to sit upright. The sharp pain at my sides still persisted. The sweet sunflowery but musty smell still deelled in the room, but it felt warmer.I held my head as I slowly opened my eyes to see my environs. It felt as though I'd been seeing strange words in my head.
Those words still persisted, blinking and blinking with the words [System initializing...]
I tapped my nead lightly to try and regain some clarity, but noticed someone was actually in front of me.
The...princess?"Please, lie back down," she said, her voice gentle yet authoritative. "You're still weak from your ordeal."Confused but intrigued, I complied with her request with little discomfort, sinking back into the softness of the bed. The princess approached, her red armor clinking softly with each step.
She examined my injuries with a practiced eye and then reached into a small pouch hanging from her belt.There was a gentleness with the way she expertly clicked at parts of my armour to free my waists, then rolled her right palm graciously in the air.
A red cloud-like streak followed her hand's movement, and she placed it on my left side.I moaned softly through the pain, trying to differentiate it from the pleasure of touch.
Suddenly, from the corner of my right field of vision, I noticed a page of information, floating in the dimly lit room.
Perplexed and confused, I asked the princess; "Do you see that?" I asked while pointing in the direction of the floating message.
The princess turned to the direction to look, but pouted in negation. She turned back to me and touched my forehead lightly. I closed my eyes but immediately forced them back open sharply.
It was as though a flood of information went through my head in that brief moment, a d a sudden realization of trouble descended on me. Big trouble.
"Ahh. I see. You're not of this world." The princess stood upright and put Hel palms to her waist. She now seemed much taller than I thought, probably almost six feet.Still in my state of exasperation, the floating message was still there, and it looked like there was something for me to answer there.
The message read thus;
[Status bar]
Welcome to Esteria, soldier. You have been granted the Fisherman System on your entry to this world. You must battle to obtain the elixir of life or you perish. Do you accept this system? Note that you die permanently if you decline.
[Yes] [No]
At this point I was already quite exhausted. I looked back at things and realized I was actually drowning due to the freak storm while fishing until strange occurrences in the water brought me here.
I bent my head af if you say I give up and looked at the princess."Where am I?" I asked."You're in Esteria," she said. She had this sharp umpth in her voice that had a way of enticing.
I chuckled."Do...you know me?" I said with a stutter, realising it wasn't really a wise question."You are my prisoner, and a unique one at that. I'm guessing you'll be useless to me as you apparently don't know anything. Hmm. My generals outside will want to kill you," she said. I could make out a smile from her face, which was now looking beautifully deadly.
"We're going to cut a deal. You're going to be my spy. My slave." The authority in her voice was getting more and more evident. This one obviously was a princess with a big attitude. I then chuckled. "Wh-what makes you think I'll be your ...slave eh?"
I could really feel myself going cold now. Fear was starting to take over. Under the blue armour I was wearing was probably a bucket load of sweat.
The princess chuckled loudly now, and went to the corner of the room. She picked up her helmet and tucked it under her left arm."You know nothing of this world. Now, I'm not interested in where you came from or who sent you, even if that was an enemy. I'm only interested in turning you to an advantage. You'll do as I and my generals command you to do, and always reply to us.
"She rolled her long hair around her head and secured it in place, before rolling a scarf around her neck and wearing her helmet.
"You will stay here until I return with the rest of my army. Few guards outside will keep watch over you and this place." Her voice sounded hollow coming from her metallic armour. She looked at the small closed window adjacent to my bed at the left side and said; "The moment you open that one, a sword goes through your head.
"This made me swallow.
She then opened the door and left the room, her boots and armour making discoordinate metallic sounds. The general who had suggested killing me looked into the room at me, with a very stern face. He was now dressed in full black armour, holding his helmet. He smacked the door hard and walked off.
Somehow, I'd remained seated in the bed all through the ordeal, still processing what had happened. I looked down at my raised hands, wondering what cards I'd been dealt. "Who brought me to this world?" I wondered.The icon with the message promoting me to accept The Fisherman System was still there. Somehow, it never obstructed me from seeing things but was always in front of me. I figured it was a projection from my head, afterall, it didn't look like the princess had seen it.
I sighed and reached out for it, trying to touch the option [Yes].
Nothing happened. I tried multiple times, pointing and pointing, almost poking at the [No] option. I was probably poking at mid air.
At this point I was flustered frustrated. I shouted yes at the icon and immediately it popped and opened a new tab. A guard opened the door to see what was going on, probably because I shouted.
"What is it?
" He growled.I just sat there, looking at his sheepishly and not really planning on replying. We continued staring awkwardly for a few seconds before he walked away with the door closed behind himI heaved a deep sigh of relief, and focussed on the tab in front of me.
It now read;
[System]
Welcome, player, to Esteria. You have been granted an RPG system, and must now work to obtain the elixir of life to sustain your system. You belong to the Water clan and must seek to work with them to develop as they are versed in water control, a vital component of your system.

On reading all these, I sighed. Of all places to spend an afterlife, I got isekaid to a game world?? Before I could say the word next, as I was already thinking if it, the tab moved to the next page, much to my surprise. What I saw next was rather interesting.
[System]
Though you've been granted an RPG system, never take for granted this world. It is far more than a game. It is very real, and you can very much die harder than you do die on earth.

It was at this point I smiled in a timorous manner, with my cheeks shaking like one with a neuro disorder.
"My life is in danger," I chuckled.
