Finding a Baby in Another World

I am walking along the street, my eyes are empty as if life has already left me, I do not watch where I am going. As usual I am sighting, already tired even though it is early in the morning. There is a car that is drifting closer to me but I do not notice it because I am daydreaming, the car hit me so hard I am flying.

A few seconds later I am on the ground with blood around me, I look at the sky as if I am praying and say. “I have so many regrets, it wasn’t what I wanted. Maybe… I’ll be what I want in another life… or in another world”. I left out my last sight and died.

The voice of a woman says “I hear your call my dear, I’ll make you become what you have always dreamed of.”

I wake up in front of a deadly gorgeous woman, she has white long straight hair, her eyes are so clear as if they are white too, her dress is half transparent but I do not see her clearly as there are a lot of bright lights around her.

I ask “Where am I ?”

She answers “It is not what matters now dear, as I said I heard your call so I made you come here. Hihi.”

She comes closer so I notice she seems to bear a big halo above her head.

Confused, I keep asking “Here ? Where is it ?”

“You want to be a man right ? A real man with strength, muscles and beauty, you want to be able to protect people you love and you want to find the one who will make you happy just by smiling. Don't you ?”

I don’t know what to think, I am feeling so happy but I don’t know if it is real… but if it’s real I want to do it.

I take my courage and ask “Do I have someone to accomplish to make it happen ?”

“Nothing… You just have to be happy”

She is thinking for a while before saying. “After all you won’t remember anything but let me tell you that I’ll send you to a wonderful place where you’ll find happiness and love, you’ll totally be reborn as someone new so just enjoy.”

I am blushing and slightly smiling. “Thank you so much. If I can ask, what’s your name ?”

“Hm, you can call me Tensei”

“Tensei as in Reincarnation ?”

“Right, I won’t tell you more.”

The goddess Tensei comes closer to me and kisses me on the forehead and says “Good luck dear.”

This is the warmest moment I ever experienced in my whole life. These were the sweetest words I heard in all my life from a gorgeous woman.

Laying I open my eyes slowly as if I have been sleeping for a long time. I sit where I am. The sun is brightly pink and…

“What ?! The sun is pink ?! I don’t remember anything, I don’t even know who I am but I’m sure the sun is supposed to be yellow. Well actually it’s not supposed to be seen so clearly.”

As I keep looking, I realize that it is looking more like the moon, a pink moon with purple crater on it. I see around me, a kind of grassland but all the grass is not green but yellow like the sand. I can hear children laughing near here, I seem to be at the entrance of a district as I see a panel with a name “Kobatsuki”. I decide to stand up as I hear the sound of a crying baby. As I am looking for him or her everywhere, I do not notice immediately but the ground does not seem to be flat. I take another step.

It’s me or the ground is kind of like a trampoline, it’s bouncing a litte. What if I jump ?

I jump and go higher than I would usually.

“Oh, it’s really bouncing ! It’s a bouncing ground ! Maybe the whole district is a bouncing land ?!”

I jump again when I finally see the baby near here. It seems to be a boy, he has animal features, fox ears, bear claws and butterfly wings.

I come closer.

“ What are you doing here all alone poor baby ? You’re so beautiful, why would someone abandon you ?”

I’m crouching to get closer to him, when something is stopping me from moving. I put my right hand behind my back and touch something in metal, I tighten the handle I have found and take that item out. I open my eyes big as I see the sword.

“Wow, I have a blue sword, it has a space in the middle as if to suck up something, maybe it works with the grass. But what am I doing ? The baby needs me !”

I put back the sword where it was, then I finally crouch down and move my finger to touch him, hoping it could calm him. My finger touches his cheek when he takes it with his very little hand.

“Ow, you’re so cute, I’m melting.”

I don’t know where I am or what’s happening but I feel that I’m going to be happy and I won’t be able to leave this baby.

“Okay, you don’t need to cry, I’m here okay ?”

The baby starts laughing. “I didn’t do anything special though.”

I put my two hands around him and I lift him in my left arm.

“So now let’s go.”

I am near the panel when I see an old man walking with his cane.

“Excuse me but I found this baby…”

Before I finish my sentence he says. “Oh, hello”

“Hello”

“You’re a knight, it’s rare to see some around here.” He stops to read something that is on my chest. “Chevalier Kanael, so Kanael-san you were saying ?”

Chevalier Kanael, so it’s my name ? It’s kind of cool, waku waku as they say. So I never came here, I think I am at least 18. Well…

“Yes, I wanted to know if there is a place for abandoned babies”

“Yes, you just have to go to the “Office of the Cute Affairs Detectives, it’s just after this building at the right.”

A bit worried, I say “Oh, thank you so much, have a nice day, mister.”

“You don’t need to be so polite with someone like, you’re a weird one Kanael-san.”

“Ah, if you say so.” I salute him and leave.

What is even this office of detectives ? And sending me there for a baby, this world is really strange, isn’t it. Ah, whatever I’ll see when I arrive.

There is a mirror near the entrance of a shop, I stop to look at myself and touch my face.

Oh ! I’m a sexy man !

I am very handsome, I am tall, maybe 1m70, I have beautiful shining yellow eyes that look sharp, my hair stops by my shoulders and it is yellow and brown, my skin is a little tanned. I am slim, not especially muscled, I open my mouth and see vampire teeths, I notice I have elf ears and long claws.

Wow, I must not be human !

I am wearing medieval clothes like the knights had, a purple top and an orange cape, a red tie and some silver accessories and a choker.

A woman says “What a beautiful knight you are, well we don’t see lots of them but I’m sure you beat all of them. Mister knight.”

I say “Kanael, Chevalier Kanael”

“Even your name sounds great, well Kanael-san do not hesitate if you need something.”

I take her hand in my right hand and kiss it. “Thank you so much, beautiful lady, I hope not to bother you too much in the future.”

She is blushing. “You’re a crazy one, luckily there was nobody to see it.”

I don’t understand why they keep talking as if I was too high in position to get close to them.

“Yeah… thank you, then I’m going.” I salute respectfully and leave.

I finally arrive at the Office of the Kawai Affairs Detectives.

I don’t really understand how they can help me and what are they even doing here, what are cute affairs ? Are they really paid for that ?

I hear a lot of children’s sounds like playing, laughing, before entering I try to sneak out around to see what it looks like inside but the windows stopped me as they don’t let me see anything. It seems that there is a little garden behind, it must be the place the children are playing in.

Is it really a place for detectives, why would there be so many children playing around ? Well maybe they lost their parents because of dangerous affairs ?

I finally decide to enter, I knock on the door and then open it.

“Excuse me ? Is there someone I can talk to ?”

Suddenly something hit my leg, when I bend my head down I see a little boy with a plush in his left hand holding my leg with his right hand.

“Heu… What can I do for you.”

He does not answer and seems to be falling asleep on my feet.

“Wait, you can’t sleep here, it’s not clean.”

I feel like I should not move, what if he starts crying, they will think I did something wrong to him.

I suddenly hear an angry voice saying.

“Do you think you can enter here freely without getting into any troubles ?”
