Chapter 15:

Expect the Unexpected

Love in Real Life Game

It doesn't feel like three days have gone by. I have just completed the entire story of this visual novel. I went through two routes, one that usually leads to a neutral ending, and another one that leads to a positive ending for the protagonist.

The neutral route is when the protagonist does not pursue any love interest and ends up as a friend who likes and maintains the friendship.

The other ending is a good ending for the first heroine. It is an ending where the protagonist gets into a relationship with the main character she meets in the story and shares the problems and struggles she experienced. To achieve this ending, you must select a choice that guides the protagonist and offers a solution to her problem.

"Senior Takumi, do you have a moment?" I spoke up to get Senior Takumi's attention.

"Yes Valdo, what is it?

"I don't think we're going to make it."

"What do you mean we won't make it?"

"We can't make a complete visual novel in one week for our presentation at the club bazaar, this Monday."

"My gut feeling says that too, but whatever we can do, we'll do our best, and I think I should put all the story and illustrations into the game now."

"It's already Saturday and tomorrow we can't do any club activities because it's the weekend."

Ayame said as she stretched her body, "It's finally finished too, this is the final drawing for the last scene of this visual novel project."

Ayame stood up and said, "I'm leaving first, don't try to follow me, you two, remember!"

I said as I waved my hand signalling for her to leave now, "Yes yes, you've finished your work so you can leave early now, goodbye."

Senior Takumi said as he looked at Ayame, "Thank you for the work today, see you again."

Then, Ayame left the club room, leaving only two of us behind. I was aware that Ayame would leave early, as the maid cafe tends to be busy, particularly on weekends.

Senior Takumi returned to his activities, programming the visual novel again.

"Hey, Senior Takumi, back to the topic, do you think we can make it?"

"The answer is very clear, we can make it, the problem is that this game will be made half-built, meaning that only half, not half, only a quarter of the game will be released. You can call it a prototype."

"I think this prototype is acceptable, I really hope we can recruit some new members."

"To be honest, I don't want to have too high expectations especially because of the school rules that require all 3rd year students to quit the club and student council before the midterms. So I just believe in what I can do to help you guys."

On second thought, senior Takumi put a lot of effort into making this visual novel game for the club project even though he was busy for the midterm and final exams. Maybe I should learn more about programming or recruit someone who can do programming, but there's no guarantee the new members have that ability.

Senior Takumi stopped typing and said, "I think you've done well so far, but I think you should end your work now, you understand what I mean right?"

"Yes, I understand, thank you for the work senior Takumi, I leave the rest to you."

I put my laptop in my bag and said "take care and be safe, see you again."

"See you again Valdo, have a nice trip"

Actually I feel bad leaving all the work to Takumi senior because I can't do much for now, I just hope everything goes well and we can do the match this Monday without any problems.

I left the club room and went home after that, as I was putting on my shoes, I got a message from my mom.

‘Mom and Dad have something to do outside, and Mom has already told Alda about this. Besides, Mom won't be cooking dinner tonight, so go eat outside, but remember not to eat unhealthy food. Mum has put your pocket money in one of the books in your bag.’

After that, I checked the books one by one and found that mom gave me two thousand yen to eat out. Thank you mom for being so generous, I won't let you down. Following my mother's advice to eat healthy food, I decided to go to the Maid cafe where Ayame works.

When I arrived at the maid cafe, I was greeted by one of the maids working there. I asked about Ayame, she said that Ayame is busy so she might not be able to accompany you now. I said that I would wait for her, while ordering Miso soup and Omurice with Iced Chocolate.

Although Iced Chocolate is one of my favourite drinks, I can't drink it often because it's very sweet. Even though I'm still young, I’m trying to stay healthy. It is also because my dad warned me that we have hereditary disease.

I mostly eat dinner at home so I don't really think about diet because my mom organises all the food I put in my mouth.

As I looked around, I saw a few students from the same school as me also hanging out here. I'm not surprised as this location is quite close to the school and bookstore I usually visit.

I also hear a lot of familiar voices, I hope it's not someone I know. It was very awkward when we met here.

A little while later, the food I ordered came out and the same maid who took the order served it. She asked if you wanted to draw or something, I refused as it was no fun at all as she wasn't Ayame, so I couldn't flirt with stranger.

"Hey, what do you think of this maid outfit? Is it good for me?"

"Yes, Ojou-sama, it looks good on you"

"Aaaaaa so cute, can I take a picture while wearing this?"

"Of course, Ojou-sama, you can take a picture with your friends too"

The atmosphere there is very lively, especially if you gather with friends who share the same hobbies, while I am here alone, eating alone and staring at the empty seats.

I was curious about what was going on behind me, so I looked back.

"Can you guys just keep it do..." It turned out that Alda was wearing a maid uniform while Ayame was trying to take photos of Alda with her friends.

"Brother, what are you doing here!" Alda said with a surprised face that she didn't expect me to be there.

Huh, another unexpected turn of event again today.
