Chapter 35:

Rooftop gratitude. [INCLUDES HIATUS NOTICE]

Echoes of love: A second chance. [UNDER RECONSTRUCTION]

"Echoes of Love: A second chance."

[Chapter 35 Start]

"Beep Beep, Beep Beep" My alarm clock's relentless sound pierces through the air as mercilessly as ever.

It was 7:00 Am with the sun burning as fiercely as ever.

As I drag myself out of bed, I find myself sighing in solitude. "Hooo. Another day with me waking up all alone in the bed," I ramble, my voice filled with a tinge of melancholy. The days seem to blur together with the same monotonous routine of sleeping, eating, studying, and shitting, becoming the norm in my life.

"What unfortunate life I lead. I have a girlfriend yet I'm still a virgin waking up alone."

"I wonder what she's doing right now."

I pick up my phone and call Aoi to find out she's just like the day before. No change at all. I was at least hoping for her to tell me that she was missing me.

"Hahhh," Another sigh.

I was getting ready for school when it clicked.

"Today is the written test!" I remember as I was taking everything easily.
I sprint toward my room only to discover a mess of books everywhere on my desk.

"Fuck— fuck— fuck—" I ramble as I search for the book which I purposefully neglected because "I'll read it tomorrow." is what I said to myself before sleeping.

"Where was it? Oh there," I find the neglected part and start reading without a worry about my poor tummy.

*Some nerdy rambling later*

I stare at the clock to discover it's already 7:40 Am.

“Shit.” I pack up my bag and ran for the school as if Saika was chasing me.

I passed by a convenience store. I had some spare change on me so I went and bought some sandwiches for me to snack on the way to school.

Thankfully, I reached the school on time. There was some time left before the written test so I gave up on memorizing more and started to relax my mind. “What’s more relaxing than those luxury sofas in the student council room?”

I make my way to the student council room to find Jun there. “What’s he doing here?” I thought.

“Oh, Iharu-kun, nice timing! I was trying to find an answer to this question and even Chako-san wasn’t able to figure it out. Can you help me?”

Chako gave me a dead stare in the eye and asked “Why are you here?”

To relax?” I answered.

“What makes the student council room a relaxing place for you? And isn’t there a test just after some time? Don’t you know how many people have expectations of you?” Oh god, she started her unskippable dialogue.

“So, what’s the problem?” I ask Jun.

"Right here," he said, pointing confidently. The question seemed almost too easy, and I guided him to the correct answer effortlessly. Once our brief study session ended, I found myself sprawled on the sofa, unmoving, as the time for the test drew near. Even Chako, who usually loved to lecture me, had given up, sensing my overwhelming not-giving-a-fuck-ness.

Right before it was time for the test. Haruno called me on the roof. As I confusedly approached the roof, I didn’t notice someone was tailing me.

 And that someone was Ayame.

Haruno was waiting for me at the rooftop. I asked her "Why did you call me?". I was only hoping that it doesn't turn out how I think It's gonna turn out.

"I wanted to thank you for 3 days ago. so I cooked this for you!" She gave me a lunch full of food.

"Th-Thank you," I replied as my cheeks blushed heavily.

Ayame saw that and just like how she was, she ran down and told Chako and Jun who were still in the student council room.

[Author’s Note]

Hello everyone, I am Arman, The author of “Echoes of Love; A second chance.”

I hereby announce to you all my 1-month hiatus notice.

I have seen that my series has a lot of potential. However, I am unable to bring my series to that level of potency. So I have decided to read a lot more novels and improve my writing, my formatting, and my style for the upcoming chapters.

My plan for this hiatus.

Maybe work on my other series.

Fix and rewrite all of my previous chapters.

Read a lot of different stories to improve my English and my writing.

Prepare a draft for the series so the dialogues feel more natural and well-planned.

Thank you very much if you have reached here. I will do my best to provide you with something you can enjoy wholeheartedly.

Thank you,

Arman Azeem.

[Thanks once again for reading.]
