Chapter 1:

Chapter 1: Wings of fate

Wings of fate: Revelations of the kingdom

History. History is always changing. Throughout history, many things can take place. Fighting was one of the things that just kept repeating itself. On this same day, eighteen years ago, a fight broke out between two civilizations on a distant planet not too far from our home planet, earth, would break out on this day.

Magnus, the rightful King to the kingdom of Esmus, was given a notice of this day and was prepared in advance for this very day with an army of his own. The city of Esmus was one anyone could notice. It's a beautiful land, surrounded by its clear blue skies and diverse population.

Magnus looked in the mirror that stood at the height he had marked on the mirror. "Looks like nothing much has changed."

Said Magnus. He looked himself up and down. His crimson-red cape and his silver armor were his go-to look for battle. He stepped out from the wall. It separated his view from the people he had gathered for his army for the upcoming fight. "Is everyone ready?" Magnus asked.

"Just one moment, brother," Donnel said. Donnel was the second in command and brother to Magnus. He was mainly defined by his bald head and his over-the-top strength as a giant, but he always kept his size relative to his older brother. "Are you sure about taking the little ones with you? They're still kids."

"Who?" Magnus asked.

"Brinks and Manda. You know how Manda feels about this-"

"She'll be fine." Magnus snapped. "If something goes wrong, I'll be sure."

"They only follow you into battle because they feel the need to. I understand Brinks, but not Manda-"

"Stop whining, Donnel," Brinks snarled. "Manda already said she wasn't willing to fight this war. She's staying home." Brinks was the eldest son of Magnus. He was quick to say something and was as bloated as a barrel. He looked like a sore thumb.

Magnus spoke up, "We still need to reach King Cleo and Queen Patrica," said Magnus as he dashed to the front entrance. "From there on, there is no turning back. After we do this, we can't escape from this."

Brinks and Donnel nodded. They followed Magnus outside of the castle. It was separated from the rest of the Kingdom by a large water barrier. Donnel stepped out from the castle. He started to open his arms, letting his body bathe in the sunlight overseeing Esmus.

Magnus walked out of the castle; his crimson red cape and spiky black hair were highlighted as he exited the castle. "Brother, you know I can't fly– can you transform now?" Donnel asked. Magnus closed his eyes. He imagined himself in the air soaring through the clouds above Esmus. His body started to quiver, his legs started to change, and his eyes went from his sharp brown look to emerald green. His back started to sprout wings. His face started to extend as he grew scales. His transformation was complete. Magnus was born both Half-Dragon and Half-Human, due to his parents– he could take the form of both races.

Magnus's body grew tenfold as his body finally rested like the body of a dragon. Donnel climbed up while Brinks also completed his transformation.

Magnus finally took flight. His bat-like wings grasped the air as he started to take flight. Magnus's speed was something else– going from the castle all the way to the Kingdom in just minutes as he landed in the town of prophets. "Ah, the town of prophets," Donnel sighed. "Home to the defenders of time," Donnel reached down to Magnus's ears. "How do you think King Cleo will react to this?"

Magnus scoffed in annoyance. "It doesn't matter. This only concerns me." Brinks cracked a sinister smile after hearing his Father.

Magnus landed in the town square– he quickly transformed into a human as he started running to the castle that homed the King of Prophets and his wife, the Queen of Prophets. Magnus finally reached the door and opened it without hesitation– soon after, his face smacked right into an energy field.

King Cleo, holding his hand out as green energy manifested from his hand, had created the shield. "Hm, I thought I foresaw a murderer running into my castle," Cleo dropped the shield barrier as Magnus and his group followed through. "Was I wrong?" Cleo added on. Magnus glared at Cleo. His pointy ears and short blond hair are highlighted in the sun peering from the window. His right eye also resembled a clock ticking backward. It looked weird to Brinks.

"Very," Magnus snarled. "Cleo-"

"King Cleo," King Cleo snapped.

Magnus groaned, "King Cleo, You're the only one in the kingdom who is capable of teleportation. I need you to use it to teleport me to planet Yutania."

"Not a chance," King Cleo said as he turned his back violently. His long pointy ears picked up the whispers of disappointment as Magnus talked to himself. He turned around as his bright blonde hair shined from the sun pouring into the castle."I told you this would happen. If you do this, you're interrupting the balance of time and could cause severe damage!" King Cleo snapped.

Magnus backed away from King Cleo's outburst. "You know you would do the same– just help me here-" Magnus said as a sudden cry gathered everyone's attention.

It was a baby. The baby was held by Queen Patrica. She stood tall with her silk dress and her, pointy ears, and smooth blond hair. Her left eye resembled a clock as well, but hers moved forward.

"Cleo, Luna is crying again." She said as she started to play with the baby's hair. "She misses her father– you know how much she loves her father." King Cleo looked back as he looked at Magnus's group again.

Magnus spoke, "Answer me this." Magnus said. "If you also were told a prophecy regarding your death in the future– would you also allow it to happen? Would you allow yourself to die and leave your wife and child?"

King Cleo thought to himself before rolling his eyes. He walked to Kiss Luna on her forehead before leaving the castle with Magnus and his group. Donnel spoke, "How old is she? The baby?"

King Cleo responded, "About twenty-six months."

"You can also just say two years old." Brinks chimed in.

King Cleo exchanged glares with Brinks as he was startled by his serious look. "Everyone gather in a circle. That way– I don't have to waste any more energy than I need to."

Everyone got together in a circle like they were asked to. King Cleo closed his eyes before exchanging different hand gestures for the technique he was performing. He spoke in other tongues of languages as a green circle made itself known on the feet of the group they had gathered themselves into. King Cleo stopped talking and opened his eyes. His eyes had tears running down from them, making it seem like he was crying while performing the spell. King Cleo looked at Magnus sourly, "Just know. The things you do on this planet are your fault-" He struck his hand at the ground, "Don't expect me to turn back time to fix your mistakes!" Cleo snarled. Magnus looked at him with a smile as Donnel and Brinks were soon gone in a blink of an eye. They traveled across the stars as they finally landed on Planet Yutania, home to the Elderian race. Brinks looked around himself, "Let's see, bright red skies, blue wood trees–" Brinks touched the ground, "And the ground feels like water but is as still as a rock– yep! This is Planet Yutania.

"Perfect!" Magnus shouted as the group ran to a nearby cover near a building.

The city of Yutania was huge. It wonders how a place so native is home to such a city.

Brinks caught a glimpse of some of the castle guards. He shrieked in fear as he hid behind his father. "Brinks– don't tell me you're afraid of Elderians?" Magnus scoffed.

"It's not that– I'm just afraid of catching a bolt of lightning at my arse,"

Donnel laughed at Brinks's response."Are Elderians lightning as fast as real lightning?" Donnel asked.

"No, I believe it's much faster than that– I'd say at least ten times that," Magnus added on.

Donnel exchanged glances with Magnus and whispered, "You don't have to do this– you dragons are already almost immortal with your lifespans–"

"Are you leaving me? Are you saying I'm wrong for this?"

Donnel stuttered as he tried to pick the right words, "It's not that– but you know once you do this, there's no going back. I'm helping you because I'm your brother– and as a family, we'll never fight one another." Donnel said. Donnel stood quiet before speaking again, "And what about Valentina?"

"Valentina– she's fine. She's dealing with the Dark elves back on Earth."

Brinks bit his lip in fear, "I-I don't like vampires! T-They scare me," Brinks quivered.

Donnel walked out from the corner of the building and stood in front of the army of Elderians in front of him. Their pale skin and cold dead eyes were almost frightening to look at. Donnel cracked his knuckles and gestured for the army to attack him. The Elderian generals soon started to transform. Their hair began to spike up toward the air as it turned silver-white. They entered a fighting stance and gestured they were ready for the fight. Their eyes turned purple as their bodies swirled with blue lightning. Donnel soon saw this as a chance also to transform. Donnel was Half-Giant and Half-Human, meaning he could change the size and add to his great strength as a power source. He grew to as high as the skies as he drew his greatsword, ready for whatever fight came towards him.

The Elderians soon dashed at incredible speeds. Brinks blinked for only a moment, and they were already attacking Donnel as he clung to his sword to defend himself.

Magnus and Brinks saw this as a perfect opportunity to sneak into the main castle. Magnus glared at Brinks, "Use only your hybrid form– no full dragon, we'll attract too much attention." Magnus and Brinks nodded at each other as they partake in another sequence of changes. Magnus grew horns from his forehead as wings sprouted from his back; Brinks grew scales along his neck as his eyes changed to green, and his teeth grew into fangs.

They both bolted into the air– creating a sonic boom that attracted the other Elderians from Donnel. Donnel quickly grabbed a handful of Elderians and threw them, making them land in a building near the castle that Magnus and Brinks landed next to. The air was hot– Brinks couldn't stop sweating as he took a moment to catch his breath from the flying, (He was trying to cover up how he was out of breath.) Magnus and Brinks soon entered the throne room of the castle. Its enclosure was very dark. Magnus and Brinks could feel the suspense from simply walking inside. Soon– a lightning bolt struck a torch! Lighting it on fire as the Queen stood still in the room in front of Magnus and Brinks stood in.

The Queen was scary. She had a long white gown decorated with gold brooches. The Queen spoke, "Why are you here? You're trespassing on my planet–" The Queen's hair started to rise as she began her transformation. Lightning struck every corner of the room as her expression changed from soft to sharp. "You're not welcome here!"

Magnus and The Elderian Queen soon exchanged glares at one another. Their powers seemingly clashed with one another through the exchange. The room echoed in power from the two as they stared. Brinks also started to feel uneasy and light-headed as he watched the two continue to glare at one another. Magnus snapped at Brinks, "Go outside! Protect the doors, and don't let anybody in!" Brinks quickly nodded and rushed outside.

"Just who are you? You're not any deity or enemy of mine." The Queen said annoyingly.

"I'm here on duties regarding the future."

"Future? You can see into the future too?"

Magnus smiled," No, but I can see a future where you seem to be a problem– I'm simply here to solve it."

The door started to close. It creaked closer and closer, letting less light escape from the gap between it. Then once the door shut– the two clashed! Magnus drew his sword, and it clouded itself in a red mist from his Aura. His power was destructive as he slashed at The Queen, "CRIMSON SLASH!" Magnus shouted as a wave of energy struck The Queen. She fell towards her throne chair as Magnus tucked his sword to his hip.

His body heat intensified as a fire started to brew within him, and then he threw his mouth. He started spewing a flame towards The Queen as she charged herself a lightning bolt from her fingertips. She launched it at the King, whose fire clashed with her lightning.

Magnus and The Queen soon raised their Auras at one another. Magnus's body took a crimson red color as it flowed around his body violently– as for The Queen, her body was also surrounded in a dark blue surrounded by bits of sparkles resembling diamonds– just like the King.

The fire and lightning soon climaxed as it exploded, and another lightning bolt charged at Magnus. It scorched him across the face as he tried blocking it with lightning. The Queen grunted and shrieked as she tried to add more power to finish him off, but Magnus had other plans. Magnus gripped his sword with all his might as he shoved the sword toward The Queen and redirected her attack back at her.

She shrieked in pain as her lightning coursed her body before the impact created an explosion– covering the room in dust. Magnus cleared the room with his wings as the dust cloud disappeared. Her body was gone– no, she was gone completely. Dust was covering her clothes from where she stood last.

Magnus looked everywhere, but to no surprise– she was gone completely. Then suddenly– a ball of lightning came from where she stood last. It flew across the room. It startled Magnus. The ball of lightning soon flew behind the throne chair as a voice came from the impact– it sounded like crying.

Magnus followed the sound in suspense. He kept his hand on his sword just in case it was a trick. But it wasn't a trick. It was a child– two of them. Donnel and Brinks also came in to see what was wrong. They had finished all of their battles.

Donnel glared at the children, "My god. These kids don't even look that old– and this one." Donnel picked up the infant, "This one is just a baby, and the one next to him looks almost as young as Luna."

Magnus glared at the two children, "This girl looks like an Elderian. She's just as pale as The Queen. I'm not so sure this other one is an Elderian– he almost looks like you, Donnel."

"What are these weird things over their eyes?" Brinks chimed in. "They look like light lightning bolts."

The King inspected the two children– it was true. They had weird-shaped scars over both of their eyes.

Magnus looked around the room that was scattered in ruins. All the debris and smoke that had filled the room was awful to look at with children taken into the matter.

"I don't know. I really don't know." Magnus moaned.
