Chapter 23 Goblinworth The Butler

"So, Kazuki," Alitia purred, flashing a playful smile, "are you ready to experience a feast fit for royalty? I assure you, it's going to be an unforgettable night. All of the most important people of Luminacia will be there. Sadly, Vincent as well."

I chuckled confidently, meeting Alitia's teasing gaze. 

"I've faced many challenges in my life, but a feast fit for royalty? I'm up for the adventure, I was really looking forward to meeting all of the important people in this town," I replied with a wink, not one to be easily swayed by her intimidation.

Lumi clapped her hands with excitement.

 "Oh, Kazuki, you'll love it! My parents always go all out for special occasions, and this one is extra special!" she gushed, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm.

Alitia leaned in closer, a mischievous glint in her eyes. 

"And you know what, Kazuki? You'll have the pleasure of sitting next to me and Lumi during the feast. Lucky you," she said, her voice dripping with playful allure.

I couldn't help but chuckle at Alitia's playfulness. 

"Well, I consider myself lucky indeed," I replied with a grin, enjoying the light-hearted atmosphere.

"Lumi, you must be thrilled," Alitia said, her eyes softening with sisterly affection.

 "All of this is in celebration of your hard work and talent. I'm so proud of you. Oh, my dear Lumi, you'll be the star of the evening! Everyone will be captivated by your charm and energy," she gushed, her eyes sparkling with sisterly affection.

Lumi beamed with excitement, her energetic and cute personality shining through.

 "I can't wait, Alitia! It's going to be so much fun, and the food will be amazing!" she shouted, clapping her hands with enthusiasm.

I chimed in confidently, "I'm sure the feast will be spectacular. I can't wait to see all the preparations and the guests' reactions to Lumi's success."

However, as the conversation continued, Alitia's affectionate behavior towards Lumi became a bit too overwhelming for her little sister. Lumi, though appreciating her sister's love, couldn't help but feel slightly irritated.

 "Alitia, I know you care about me, but could you not cuddle me in front of everyone on the day of the feast? I don't want everyone to think I'm being treated like a baby," she expressed with a touch of irritation.

"Oh, I'm sorry, Lumi. But I can't promise you that, I might get carried away," Alitia said with a playful pout.

As the night enveloped the mansion in darkness, the weariness of the day began to settle upon us. Gazing out at the starry sky through the window, I turned to Alitia and Lumi and suggested, "I believe it's time for us to retire for the night. Today has been quite eventful, to say the least."

Lumi, her eyes still sparkling with excitement, nodded in agreement. 

"You're right, Kazuki. A bit of rest will do us good, especially after the eventful day," she said with a yawn, her energy beginning to wane.

As the conversation settled, Alitia let out a soft, satisfied sigh before summoning a goblin butler with a snap of her elegant fingers. The small creature was dressed in a butler suit and slick shoes. With a pitiful hunch to his back, he scuttled towards us, attempting to display an air of elegance, but his efforts fell short, revealing a hint of clumsiness that seemed to be a constant companion.

As the goblin butler approached us, his scrawny form was evident in every movement. He wore an impeccably tailored black butler suit, a stark contrast to his rugged and hideous physique. His shoes, though polished, seemed a tad too large for his tiny feet, making each step appear like a struggle to maintain balance.

But it was his ears that stood out the most, large and meaty, almost disproportionate to the rest of his diminutive body. They twitched nervously as he tried to maintain composure, a clear sign of his timidity.

"Throne be praised, did Master call?" the goblin butler mumbled, attempting to maintain proper decorum while bubbling with enthusiasm.

Alitia raised an amused eyebrow, "Indeed. Goblin, attend to our guest, Kazuki here. Escort him to his quarters and ensure he has everything he needs."

The goblin butler saluted in a silly manner, his tiny green hand slapping his forehead, and then he gestured for me to follow him.

 "Ah, ouchies! My face... Oh, honored guest! You follow me now, yes? Come, come, this way! I show you to your room! Very nice room, you see! Right this way, sir," he chimed, trying his best to sound refined.

I chuckled at the goblin's eager demeanor and followed him down the opulent corridors of the mansion. His small frame scurried ahead, and he occasionally stumbled on his own feet, but he quickly regained his balance with a wide grin.

As we turned a corner, he pointed to a magnificent painting adorning the walls.

 "Pretty painting, pretty painting belonging to good people! People here, good people! Lumi, very nice! Alitia, scary, but good too! Vincent, hmm, him, different, but not bad!" he clamored, bouncing on his toes. 

"Master Vincent likes pretty things, he says it's good for the soul. He comes often, he said me is not pretty."

"Vincent has good taste," I replied, genuinely impressed by the goblin's knowledge of his master's preferences.

"Yes, yes, he smart, very smart!" the goblin nodded enthusiastically. 

"He says we must make guests happy, very happy! So, we try, try very hard. Are you happy, Master?"

"Yes, I'm happy," I assured him with a warm smile. 

"You're doing a great job, little buddy."

The goblin's eyes sparkled with delight at the praise. 

"Oh! Little buddy! Me Happy! Thank you, thank you! Me glad, very glad!" he stammered, trying his best to contain his excitement.

As we reached the door to my room, he turned to me with a slight bow, attempting to imitate the manners of a human butler. 

"Here, your room, oh, um, Master Kazuki, welcome to your temporary chamber, sir!" he announced, gesturing grandly towards the entrance, "Ah, it's an honor to serve you here!" The goblin butler shouted deepening his clumsy bow, nearly losing his balance. 

"Thank you," I said gratefully. 

"You've been a wonderful guide."

With a proud grin, the goblin butler beamed, "You welcome, you welcome! I like being a guide, very much!"

I entered my room, and the goblin asked. 

"I-is the room comfortable enough for you, sir?"

I chuckled warmly, appreciating the goblin's sincere efforts. 

"Yes, it's perfect. Thank you for showing me the way," I replied, trying my best to put him at ease.

The butler goblin beamed with pride, adjusting his small butler suit with his tiny hands.

 "Oh, you're very welcome, sir! If you need anything, anything at all, just give me a little hoot, and I'll be here right away, sir!"

His eagerness was endearing, and I couldn't help but be amused by his charm. 

"Thank you. I'll keep that in mind," I assured him.

He nodded fervently, his large round eyes shining with delight.

 "I'm Goblinworth, my name is, sir, your humble servant! And you, sir, are our esteemed guest in Luminecia, the most magical town in the realm!"

"So, your name is Goblinworth, huh? Well then, nice to meet you," I said, smiling warmly.

 "I must say, this town is indeed impressive. There's something unique about it."

The goblin butler clapped his hands excitedly, hopping a little in place. 

"Oh, you think so too, sir?! Luminecia is the best place ever! We got magic, elves... mmm... dwarves, and, and even a fancy library! I can't believe I'm here, sir!"

"It seems like you're having a great time here," I remarked, genuinely happy for him.

"Oh, oh! Me, goblin butler, very lucky! Town, good place! So much better than breeding farms! No more dirt and feces, no more chains and whip! Town, like heaven to me! For me, a goblin, being a butler is an important job! I Serve, serve, it's very important to work! Oh, yes, yes, sir! It's like a dream come true for me! I used to be stuck at those dreary breeding farms, but now, oh, now I'm in this amazing town serving kind and wonderful folks like you, sir!" Goblinworth clamored, his voice filled with genuine gratitude.

"So, what do they pay you, what do you get in return for your work?" I asked curious. 

 The goblin's excitement was elevated, and it manifested in every aspect of his lively demeanor. His big, meaty, and elongated ears seemed to perk up like antennae. His big nose, slightly crooked and full of character, sniffed the air with a childlike curiosity, It quivered with excitement. With wide, sparkling eyes that glimmered like precious gems, he looked at me with unbridled wonder. His lips were ever so slightly upturned, forming a permanent grin that spread from ear to ear. They quivered with eagerness as he spoke.

"Oh, oh, it's a big deal, it is! You see, they pay me with shiny coins, they do! Glittering and sparkly, like stars in the night sky! And for my work, they give me the most precious gift of all - freedom, they do! From the breeding farms, I was saved, yes! Saved, I was, and now, oh, now, this town is salvation to me!"

The goblin's tiny hands were in constant motion, gesturing animatedly as he spoke. Despite their diminutive size, they exuded an energy that couldn't be contained, emphasizing his every expression.

As I settled into my room, Goblinworth couldn't contain his excitement, continuing to chatter away like an enthusiastic goblin guide. He eagerly shared stories about Luminecia, its bustling markets, the quirky cafes, and the tasty food that brought him to life.

"Sir, if you ever need a tour of Luminecia or anything at all, just let me know! I'll be here, ready to guide you through the adventures!" Goblinworth clamored, his tiny fists clenched.

"I'll be sure to keep that in mind, Goblinworth. Thank you for your hospitality and enthusiasm," I said sincerely.

He beamed at the praise, his chest puffed with pride.

 "Oh, thank you, sir! Now, I'll leave you to your rest. Have a splendid night, Master Kazuki!"

With that, Goblinworth bid me farewell and scuttled away, leaving me to reflect on the delightful encounters I had in Luminecia. As I drifted off to sleep, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement for the adventures that awaited.
