Chapter 15:

Acceptance

Becoming the Principal of Isekai School

The next morning, Eiji stands near Kyoko's obstacle course with objects wrapped in cloth near his feet.

"Sorry, I was up late, even though Miss Bellucci already told me about this meeting last night." Rae rushed to the principal. "Can I help you…."

The elf stopped when he saw a rectangular target mounted on a wooden pillar.

Eiji took an item from the cloth bundle, then threw it to Rae. "Show me. You want to be a teacher here, right?"

At first, Rae froze as he caught the wooden bow, but then he nodded with an expression filled with determination.

Eiji thought Rae would jump for joy, but this was again beyond the principal's expectations.

Rae took one of the arrows from the quiver on the ground and took aim. In just seconds, he shot the arrow. That thing stuck right in the middle of the target.

"Ah, this really feels good," Rae smirked. "I've been missing this for so long."

"Now, teach me how to do it." Eiji made a request.

The elf gulped. "That's…."

"Try to remember how you learned this the first time." The principal took another arrow. "Perhaps you can start by looking at my stance."

"Okay…." Rae handed over the bow, and Eiji took an archery stance. "No, no, it's not like that, sir."

The elf corrected the position of Eiji's body, hands, and feet. However, the pale-skinned man said nothing.

"Then?" Eiji asked because Rae had not given any further instructions yet.

"Ah…." The elf scratched his hair. "Pull and let go…. Don't forget to hold your breath."

Eiji did as Rae advised, but he took a little longer to aim. And after releasing the arrow, that thing stuck quite far from the center, about 12 inches.

"For a beginner, you are quite good." Rae gave a round of applause.

"This proves that you have the potential to become an educator," Eiji responded. "It's just that you must add a little wording so your students don't get confused."

"Yeah, I have to admit, that's probably my weakness. Even when telling stories to friends, they usually don't understand. But they all stick to me because my family is influential…." The elf gasped. "But you understood my story yesterday, right?"

Eiji gave a faint smile. "Maybe it's not that you don't know how to explain well, but you just can't choose what to explain. Yesterday, for example, you knew the topic you wanted to talk about. So, you can convey it well.

"Yeah, maybe you're right." The elf stared at the target.

"Don't worry. We are here to help you, but you must be prepared because it won't be easy."

The elf held his breath. His mouth opens and closes without a sound, like that of a fish on land. Nearly a minute passed, and he was finally able to speak. "S-so you finally accepted me here?"

"But you have to fix your curriculum too. What you gave me yesterday was suck-ass." The principal patted that man's shoulder.

The elf clenched her fists in the air. "Hooray!!! I'm going to be a teacher!!! I'm not going to be a ghost anymore!!!"

Eiji felt he had to adapt to this man's loud screams.

"So, we have to teach them the ways, like rolling while shooting, moving between shots, taking cover…. Damn, that's a lot." Rae, sitting in the library, sighed. "Can't they, like me, find their own way?"

"No, Mr. Sharis," Anneth answered patiently. "Even your elf friends have to learn that all, right?"

"Come to think of it, that's true." Rea scratched his head. "I don't know why I can be one of the best. I'm always too lazy to take any lessons."

Sitting at another table while using his tablet, Eiji wonders if Rae is a genius. Otherwise, he couldn't do those techniques without any proper training.

Anneth resumed. "Let's write down everything you're good at and how to do it. And remember, you don't need words like bwoah, kaboom, whamp, or anything like that."

"Okay…" While grimacing, Rae started writing in a notebook. "I didn't know people didn't use words like that when they wrote."

"You spelled the U wrong, Mr. Sharis." Anneth smiled. "That's a V."

"S-sorry." The elf scratched his hair again.

But Rae often looks hopeless like this. Eiji really didn't understand him.

"Ah, you are here, sir." Sienna entered the library and approached her boss. "I've completed the temporary daily menu schedule with Miss Kyoko. She is very excited about doing this."

"Ah, thank you." Eiji received several sheets of paper from his assistant. "I just want to change the atmosphere to refresh my mind."

Sienna glanced at the tablet and books near the principal's hand. "You're still looking for potential medical candidates?"

"Yeah, apparently, finding someone who can heal and understand potions is hard. I want this candidate to also teach a little about it." Eiji rubbed his tired eyes. "Normally, healers go with adventurers. They don't really understand potions. And potion makers don't really understand healing techniques. I've been looking for them for a long time but haven't found one that can do both."

"There should be someone like that, sir." Anneth joined in. "At least, in my world, there are healers who double as potion makers. Usually, they do healing at their place, never joined adventurers."

"Maybe they were not chosen by God." Eiji massaged his forehead.

"Why don't you just bring in the next teacher first? You don't need the healer now, do you?" The monster witch advised. "After all, this place is safe from the dangers of the outside world."

"You don't understand, Anneth." Eiji scrolled his tablet again. "We have to get a healer before the previous teacher candidate arrives. Trust me. He is special."

"How about her, sir?" Sienna pointed to the profile of a woman with long wavy pink hair. "It says she is skilled in healing and quite knowledgeable about potions. She fits your criteria."

"I've already checked her, Sienna." Eiji opened the profile and showed it to his assistant. "Read the last sentence. Don't you think this is strange?"

Sienna brought her face closer to the tablet's screen. "She loves humans and other humanoid races, maybe too much…. What does this mean?"
