Chapter 8 : The Long Lost Words

  The figure was a little bit shorter than the two elves, and the body was slimmer than them. She had green hair, green eye in the left eye, and yellow eye in the right eye. The attire she wore like the elves, a sort of white robe, but her hand held a staff.

"So can you tell me more about her?" I asked.

"Ah yes…she is one of the goddess siblings, she is the middle sibling, so she is not the youngest nor the eldest. She is the master or the lord of all the elves."

"And what is the staff that she is holding?"

"That…I believe it's cokro or cakra…"

AGAIN MY FACE BECAME FROWNED FROM HER WORDS "Give me a second…" I took out my phone, started to search for a file in my phone. I believe I have a picture of the staff with the same name like that..Found the image of it, I immediately lined up my phone with the staff, and the picture was the same as the staff…*sigh*

"Why are thou sighing after I told thou the name of the staff?"

"Nothing…it just surprised me a little bit…go on.."

"Haply mine master can help thou to find the reason why thou don't hast the other in status screen?"

"Great…but how do you get in touch with your master?"

"Well, I'm the chosen one from goddess arum, that's why I am the high priestess, and noella is the successor of me…from all the elves, I'm the one whom can get in touch with the goddess arum."

"So you will get in touch right now?"

"No, i shall get in touch with her at mine home, not here…if she agrees to meet thou, I shall bring her here.."

"Wait wait wait…You will bring a goddess here?…"

"Yes…and it's not that big a deal…sometimes goddesses shall appear to the public, and that's mine job to say to people when or where the goddess shall appear, or I bid her to descend and help us, would she agrees, she shall descend from the realm to this world"

Suddenly, I realized something in the figure, at the bottom of the projection, there was something, that sort of words, I took a closer look at it…

"REALLY!!!!"

Aella was confused, and approached me "What hast thou found?"

"This.." I pointed at the sort of the words.

"That's her name…but with divers languages, e'en myself can't read it…"

"But this…" *sigh*

"Don't say to me thou read it…"

"Sort of…it read ꦲꦫꦸꦩ꧀ 'A-Ru-M' but with the sound words 'Ha-Ru-M' that's her name in this words.."

I saw the two were shocked…

I was just confused "What!" I looked at them "is that a really big deal for these words?"

Aella suddenly leaned her face in front of me "May thou say to me how thou read these words?"

"Alright, but your face is too close to me…"

She took a step back.

"First word is ꦲ or Ha, this word can be A, E, I, U, or O if the word is in front of the sentence…the next word is ꦫ or Ra, and the last one is Ma or ꦩ…"

"Yet how ra can become ru, or ma can become m.."

"Because there is the Sandhangan or clothes…all of these words are naked, so the sound of these words will end with A, like Ha, Ma, or Ra…so you need to wear some clothes to sound different.."

"I don't wot a word can wear apparels."

"They can in this type of word, the clothes…it so weird to say it clothes, I will say it as the name of it Sandhangan…The Sandhangan of Ra to become Ru is Suku, you can see the bottom of the word, there is a line that went down after that turning to above ꦸ, if the word wear this Sandhang, it become U, like Ha word if it use this it become Hu, or the Ma word will become Mu.."

Aella pointed at the end of the words "What about this thing..꧀"

"That's Pangkon or Lap, because it's like the word sit in the lap, it used to kill the word.."

"KILL?"

"Yeah, the word that sits in that lap is Ma, but it is sitting on that lap ꦩ꧀ so it becomes the consonant word only, it's M without A."

"Haply thou wot of what quantity of these words there are?"

"It's 20 words of base word, 8 words for honorifics, 5 words for vowels, 10 words for the numbers, and more of it….."

"Doth thou wot all of those?"

"Sort of." I learnt it from elementary school until high school.

"May you write it for me?"

"Write it? Okay, but it will be the base words.."

I went to the back of the counter to find a pen and a paper, after I found it. I went back to front again, and wrote the words on the table front.

"Mate? what doth thou mean?"

"These words are still single, do you want me to write their partner or mate?"

"I don't wot words can hast partner.."

"Of course they have…I will write it at bottom of it"

Aella took the paper, and looked at it…

"Then the apparel?"

"The apparel? Ah the sandhangan, I will write the basic one.…"

I took the paper again, and started to write the Sandhangan, at the bottom of it..

"What's the difference between this and that, it is written as the like -e.."

"This e ꦺ name taling, it use the e sound of /e/ like bed, gem, fed, and many more, and the other one ꦼ is pepet, it use the e sound of /ə/ like taken, after, under, even, and many more….Before that, Why you don't know about this word? That was written in your goddess's name."

"Because there is no book or some one whom can read it or write it again, beside the goddesses themselves."

"Do they not teach you about it?"

"Ah about…that…how I say to you…. the goddesses can read and write the word…but…it's only their name…so…they don't wot about aught besides their name…"

"EH! It means they don't know the words…So where does this word come from?"

"That's quite hard to tell…even the goddess itself doesn't wot about that…"

"Really?..." What a weird world…

Aella's face became more bright…

"Hei…how about thou write mine name with this word? so I can show it to the goddess arum, she shall be surprised about it…"

"Okay then.." I started to write her name…

Aella looked at it while checking it with the basic words I have written…and turned at me..

"These words (she pointed at 2 words ꦄꦌ) what are those?"

"That's swara.. The basic word use consonant and vowel words, but there is no single vowel words in the basic word, so there is swara, it means sound, these words are the vowels words only…if it's the consonant words only, you use the partner words…like ꦭ꧀ꦭ at the top as L, and the bottom as La, so it's lla. When a basic word has a partner word, the basic word will become the consonant word only.." I started to write again…"and this for Noella.."

"Eh! I think you don't need swara first, if you want to learn it…myself even sometimes wrong about swara and others…"

"So what doth we need to try to wot this?"

That's a hard question…these words are used only for 1 type of language… because the sound of other languages is different from it…these words are used as the sound of the word like even, when you wrote it with this words, as the sound of the word, it will be written as hifin..

"How about you make a simple sentence? But the words are not the consonant word only or the vowel word only, like word eat, don't use it, you can use word bed, gem, fed, taken, even…because you don't know the swara, just use the word Ha, it can be used as vowels in front of the sentence…and if in the last sentence, the word is consonant, you can put pangkon or lap like your goddess name in the last word…I think that's it…" Elementary school usually starts with the basic word and the sandhangan first, in junior high, start to use the honorific word, and in high school, start to use everything that hopes this word can write foreign words…not local words anymore… "If you have mastered what I have told you, I can give you another sandhangan than this basic one…there are still some clothes to wear for the words on some occasion…"

"Wait! You said even word, but in basic words there is no such a v word…how do you write it?" Noella asked..

"I forget about that, so don't use that, it's another type of word, it's called rekan. It is used for Ha, Kha, Qa, Dza, Sya, Fa/Va, Za, Gha, and 'a…" This rekan started for the arabic word and the netherland language, and now, it is used for writing a foreign word…

Aella took the paper, gave it to Noella, where Noella stored it…

Aella turned at me "Wherefore thou knowest about this word? That in this orb, it's a long lost word"

"Well, I have learnt it since elementary school…"

I saw both of them were confused..

"What is this elementary? And what is this school?" Noella asked..

"Well elementary is a basic level, and school is a place where kids pursue education.."

"Ah thou mean learn from the wise or the master or the teacher…"

"Yes, it's sort of that…"

Noella asked "Why you not go to their house? Why do you need to go to this school? Or why does your teacher not go to your house?"

"Because it's just not me who learns from the teacher…"

"What! So there are other kids that learn from your teacher.."

"Yes, it's 44 other kids that learn from the teacher at the same time.."

"That will be hard for the teacher…"

"Not at all, because the teacher is not just one…but there are 5 teachers that teach the kids different knowledge in the school…"

Aella asked "What doth thou get from this 'school'."

"In elementary school, you will learn about morality mostly, Ideology, how to count, religion, civic like how is the function of government, that language, and many more…"

"That's a lot for a kid, and I want to know" Noella asked "what is Ideology and Civic?"

"Ideo—"

Suddenly a thunderous blast of sound appeared from the outside, but there was no shockwave from that blast inside the shop…this sound made Aella and Noella alert…I stood up from front seat, I tried to walk to the door, wanted to check what was going on, but Aella stopped me…It was not just one time the sound appeared, there was some thunderous blast of sound that could be heard so loudly, like it was in front of the door, but there was no shockwave from that blast…

After some moments, the blast stopped…and out of the blue, the front door was opened by someone slowly…slowly, the figure appeared from behind the door…and it was sort of a child. From the appearance, I didn't know it was a boy or girl. The attire was full of red color, and it was like a boy's outfit…I saw Aella and Noella were trembling, frightened and hugging each other after seeing this child…

The child suddenly said "Ah! The forest creatures and the barbarian creature in one place, what a rare sight.."
