Chapter 1:

Following a pretty lady sent me to another world?

How an ordinary introvert became the most powerful sorceress in another world.

Heidi suppressed a yawn. Working the night shift had the benefit of customers being rare but there wasn't a whole lot to do. She'd already been warned twice for playing around on her phone. After all, it wouldn't look good if someone stopped by to buy petrol and crisps and saw her like that. She rolled her eyes  to herself.

Maybe it would be acceptable for her to read a book... or a manga. She had some new volumes sitting at home that she hadn't opened yet. She could probably get through a dozen in a full shift. On second thought, a book would be better. She could just bring one and it would last her the entire shift.

She glanced at the clock. It was shortly after five in the morning. Just one more hour to slog through and she could head home. She took a swig of her coffee. It was cold, but it would help her stay awake.

After an hour with only two short interactions with customers, Heidi made her way home. It was only a fifteen minute walk and she had her music to keep her entertained. Almost no one was up and about at this hour. She just had to keep her head down and she would be back home. She was glancing around, not looking at anything in particular, when she saw her.

The strange woman was notable for both her size and unnatural beauty. She had to be close to 196 centimeters tall with noticeable muscles and abnormally perfect features. Her skin looked smooth. Her hair looked silky. She had no visible imperfections. At least none that Heidi could see as she walked past.

"Dominate me, Mommy," Heidi whispered. Immediately feeling embarrassed and hoping that she hadn't been heard.

The woman ignored her and disappeared down an alley. Heidi stood stunned for a moment before following. She wasn't even thinking about it. She just really wanted a closer look at the tall beauty.

To her surprise, there was nothing in the alley. The woman had seemingly disappeared completely. The alley didn't even lead anywhere. It was a dead end. Heidi looked around for a moment. Then she leaned against the wall and fell out of the world.

The wall Heidi had leaned against had given way like a liquid. It was like falling into a pool and being instantly pulled out. Heidi found herself in some kind of basement. It was dimly lit by candles. There were barrels and boxes sitting around, covered in dust and cobwebs. There was also a ladder. Heidi quickly went up.

She heard hushed voices as she made her way out of the strange basement. She stopped for a moment to listen.

"I just don't know how realistic it is," the first voice said. It was a slightly husky feminine voice.

"Well, we have to try something. We can't keep going like this forever," the second voice had what sounded like a static effect. It was a softer feminine tone than the first.

"I know that, but I also used the last portal glyph on this scouting mission," the first voice sounded annoyed. "Where are we going to get enough for everyone? Besides, the humans weren't exactly welcoming. I drew a lot of attention."

"It won't matter if they're welcoming or not," the second voice interjected. "So long as they aren't openly hostile."

Heidi peered up over the ladder. It was the tall, muscular woman from before. Except her skin had turned a bright crimson. Her eyes had shifted to a golden color. Her hair had gone from black to a striking silver shade and she'd sprouted a pair of long, sharp horns on her forehead. She also had a forked tail. She was talking to some kind of shimmering blue screen.

That was when the door to the small building was thrown off its hinges. Three androgynous figures with pale blue skin and white, feathery wings rushed in. They had swords drawn.

"Criminal, you are charged with dimension hopping, possession of illicit glyphs and rebellion against the divine. You will surrender and come with us peacefully."

"And if I refuse?" she asked. Heidi noticed the strange woman putting one hand subtly under her belt.

"Then your execution will be neither painless nor private."

"That's what I figured," the muscular beauty stated. Her hand came up from her belt with a trio of knives between her fingers. In a smooth motion, she hurled them at her aggressors while her second hand hurled a fireball at the back wall. She ran.

Unfortunately for her, two of the knives bounced harmlessly off of her enemies' armor and only one opponent went down with green blood streaming from their throat. The other two nodded at each other and put their hands together. A strange, magical light gathered between them.

Without thinking, Heidi emerged from the basement and ran towards the strange woman, trying to push her out of the way. Heidi and the unknown woman were both hit with Heidi taking the brunt of it.

The strange woman glanced down at Heidi and quickly took note of her pursuers who seemed puzzled by the human woman who had seemingly come out of nowhere. The muscular lady grabbed the injured Heidi in her arms and ran.
