Chapter 50:
How Not to Be a Medium
"Surprise!" I shouted, drawing everyone's attention to me. Zoey almost had a heart attack when she heard me, and I could see that she was furious with me at first, but then she threw herself into my arms with good wishes.
"Cake!" she called suddenly and disappeared into the kitchen.
I accepted the wishes of the others and even let myself wear a stupid triangle hat. I had a great time and was extremely grateful for everything. Both the cake and the food Zoey arranged for were delicious. Cee Cee and Judy were watching Thomas, who needed to get a little used to the spiritual aura, looking very curious and pleased. The fairy must have foreseen something, probably sharing it with her new friend. The doctor, however, asked me to speak privately for a moment, so we went out into the garden.
"I'm sorry it's on your birthday, but I'd like to ask you for help soon," he said quietly, blushing like a teenager talking about his love.
"Sure," I said. "What is it about?"
"I'd like to propose to Zoey, I know you're her closest friend and I'm bad at planning things like this and need some help."
"You have my blessing," I smiled. "And a few ghosts, by the way." Of course, all the dead guests came to overhear.
"I'm honored."
Thomas smiled in relief, and I suggested we go back inside quickly before they start wondering where half the partygoers have gone. I couldn't have heard better news, I was sure that everything would be fine for her. Helping with her wedding will be fun, I chuckled to myself.
I noticed that Tristan was looking at me as if he wanted to kidnap me just for himself for a while, but at the same time, he knew that it was not very appropriate to do so since we were having a party. I walked over to him and said we could talk for a while in the bedroom alone. He agreed but asked me to give him a moment's head start. He was waiting for me there with a gift of a necklace he was probably working on again with Zoey.
"It's beautiful," I said and proudly put it around my neck. "Thank you."
"I'm glad you like it." He smiled. "Cami, can I ask you one question?" I nodded my head and cuddled up to him. "Are you truly happy?"
"I couldn't be more happy than I am," I whispered. "Tristan, can I say one thing?" He agreed without hesitation. "I love you, my ghost."
"I love you too, my medium."
Author's note
I am writing this with sadness because I do not like to say goodbye, and I am doing it now with these characters. :'< This lengthy experiment has come to an end, it took me over a year, but I'm happy that I took it on. Although initially I thought about a maximum of twenty episodes, and it turned out how much it turned out. ':> I'm just not sure if I'll ever do it again.
Thank you to everyone who has accompanied me on this journey, be it the whole thing or the smallest part, I hope you enjoyed it. :>
