Chapter 30:

Gravity

Hacker Class

[GRAVITY (lv 2) HAS LEVELLED UP!]

COST OF USING THE SKILL IS REDUCED DUE TO A HIGH ENERGY LEVEL.

[GRAVITY (lv 3) ACTIVATED!]

[-3 ENERGY PER MINUTE]

Alden felt the world blur as his body rose into the sky, so fast that even the lightning-fast attacks of the tanks did not touch him. He could feel the air kissing his skin as he rapidly rose to the sky. Energy flowed through his veins and the sensation was almost intoxicating.

It was then that the realization hit him, he was floating in the sky. Not only that, but the [GRAVITY] skill had leveled up. It was probably because of that reason that he was floating in the air. An upgrade of the skill meant Alden could manipulate his own body, allowing him to rise into the air.

Alden wanted to test out the limits of this upgraded skill.

Alden summoned his staff and imbued it with the gravity energy before throwing it like a spear headlong in the direction of the most powerful Tank, a level 13 one. It was this Tank that had broken Alden's hand.

The staff was a blur as it flew towards the Tank, impaling it.

Alden used [GRAVITY] to quickly pull away from the spot in which he had been since the tanks were trying to get to him.

"I can feel a connection from those rocks, the same type of connection I feel when imbuing [GRAVITY] energy into my dagger, " Alden thought to himself, his eyes widening. He could be wrong but he thought he might have imbued energy into the rocks he had been lying on when he activated the gravity ability.

Alden raised his single functioning arm and raised it in an upward direction, and sure enough, about 5 or 6 sizeable rocks flew upwards, crashing into the tanks that were nearing the ground. The tanks were disoriented and fell onto the ground, the impact from the attack forcing them off balance.

"Now, I have to finish it!" Alden thought flying toward them, he imbued his hands with energy. Alden bolted toward the Tanks, blue energy swirled around him and his [GRAVITY] skill helped increase his speed. With the momentum from the skill and the energy from the same skill stored in his hand, Alden's punch caused a massive shockwave to form from the force of his punch. The Tank he punched was instantly put down, with a large hole in its chest. The shockwaves from the attack sent the other tanks flying back.

Alden didn't waste any time and had already appeared before another Tank. Alden lay his hand on the Tank, his gravity skill making it lighter so he carried it by its arm and slammed it into the ground behind him before smashing its skull with multiple [GRAVITY] enhanced punches.

After that Tank was dead, and the other Tanks came hurrying toward Alden, all of them eager to tear him apart. Alden used his extra 5 points in agility, allowing him extra speed. Then, Alden found himself finally able to avoid their attacks.

"I'll finish this, Alden thought using his hand to touch each Tank in between dodging and avoiding their attacks.

Then when he was sure he had touched all of them, he used [GLITCH] to teleport a distance away, before focusing on all his strength. The Tanks were about to come after him but they realized something; they could not move.

A blue light shrouded their body and they tried their best to force their limbs to move, to no avail. Alden on the other hand, struggled to hold them back with his power. Tears of blood ran down his face, and his nose bled. Then, slowly and painfully, he closed his single open palm into a fist.

The tanks imploded.

Their durable armor collapsed violently inwards, and they met their end there and then.

Alden let out a sigh of relief but then felt himself cough out blood. That action had a severe effect on his body.

Alden's health was below 20% and his energy level was at 30%. Even though Alden was exhausted and badly out of shape, he knew he could not rest yet. The boss of the dungeon still lived.

Alden raised his head to admire the red sky of this destroyed version of the earth. This, disastrous form of nature...it still felt and looked so...natural. Maybe it was because disaster was a part of nature.

"I won't be able to fully appreciate this scene as long as that guy's still out there.

A monster who spoke a human tongue

That was kinda new.
