Chapter 14:

EPILOGUE/AUTHOR'S NOTE

Ink Dreams

Standing together, a group of teens begin setting up their instruments. The leader, a man with silver hair wearing a black tee and jeans, groans.

“What’s wrong Monoyashi?” One of two blonde boys speaks up. Wearing a blue tee instead of red, it’s the only way to differentiate him from the other.

“Nothing Marcus…just the fact our lyricist hasn’t come back yet. I THOUGHT he just needed a break, but it’s been a week and still no word.” Monoyashi grits his teeth. “That’s the last time I don’t trust my gut.” He complains, putting his hands on his hips.

“Well, the hell are we gonna do without a lyricist?” The other blonde boy in red speaks up, holding a bass guitar.

“Simple, nothing. Not till we get a new one. Ugh, this whole album business has been a mess.” Monoyashi groans.

“...wait a sec…” Marcus whispers. “Monoyashi, have you heard about the guy dating the hot chick at your school?”

“No Marcus, I haven’t, and I quite frankly don’t care about any romance gossip right now.” Monoyashi rolls his eyes.

“I heard that someone saw them together at a con last Saturday. They were selling manga together.”

“Okay?” Monoyashi raises an eyebrow.

“Guess who the author was? The boy! And apparently when they read through it, the thing was metal as hell.” Marcus explains.

“Metal as hell…” Monoyashi looks down at his electric guitar. “Hmm…I think…my gut likes what you’re saying Marcus.” Monoyashi says, smirking. “Let’s go find this guy.”

...

Hello! Peace Sign here. Wow, it feels weird to be writing one of these again. Probably best to explain a few things.

Alright, so, what took me so long to actually start this thing and why did I go on such a long hiatus?

To make a long story short, my meds weren't strong enough. As such, I acted in ways I now believe to be childish and mean. For those affected by my actions at that time, I sincerely apologize.

So, why did I decide to write an entire novel for this contest at the very end of it?

Well, for fun. I adore stories like Bakuman or Girlish Number that are all about making things. The process of creation is a fun one to me, and so seeing it talked about in a digestible form like this is all kinds of ways my jam. I figured it would be fun to write a story like that, with a wholesome romance twist...and some not as wholesome twists. Sorry about the gore talk, I can't escape all my eccentricities.

Anyways, this is probably the part where I should be giving my thanks.

To the entire Honeyfeed Discord Community, a hearty thank you. You put up with me at my worst, and for that, I thank you dearly. I hope from now on I can start to really prove myself as a valuable member of your community.

I hope to see you all in my next novel, whether I win or not. It's been fun!
