Chapter 21:

Made a Yandere Cry

The Cute Side of My Yandere Girlfriend

We stopped by a bench to eat our ice cream. Since this place was on a slope, we could see the entire city from here.

"Please don't do that again."

"What do you mean?"

"Telling people that we are a couple."

"Sorry, I was just teasing you. Are you mad?"

"It's not like that. I just don't like that kind of joke."

"Sorry, I may have gone too far."

Chizuru-san put on a bitter face. She continues to do things that annoy people but ends up with an apology. I don't know if she really regrets her actions, nor do I know if she's a good or bad person. All her actions only make me understand her less and less.

While we were eating ice cream in silence, I felt my phone vibrate. Looks like Tsukinaga-san sent me a message.

"Where are you?"

This message was probably sent by Tsukinaga-san because she couldn't find me anywhere in the inn. Well, I didn't tell her because I thought she was sleeping. However, it was still my fault for not keeping her updated via text.

"Sorry, I'm in town right now. I'll be back soon."

Before I could send the message, Chizuru-san covered my phone screen with her face.

"What are you doing?"

"That's my question. What are you doing texting other women when you are on a date with me?"

"But she is my girlfriend, texting her is normal. Besides, I don't remember calling it as a date."

"You don't get it huh, Kenjiro-kun? If you keep having a cold shoulder towards every women, even if you have a girlfriend, you won't be able to become popular."

"What kind of nonsense are you talking about? I'm satisfied with just having Tsukinaga-san. I didn't expect to be popular."

"Tsk tsk tsk. You're still immature, Kenjiro-kun. Listen here, being popular has its benefits even if you already have a partner."

"What?"

"Imagine that your girlfriend is popular with men. There is a long queue of men who want to be her boyfriend. Nevertheless, she chooses you out of them. In a situation where losing you wouldn't mean much because there are still many waiting and hoping to replace you, surely you would try harder not to lose your position, right? The same goes for the other way around."

My eyebrows were furrowed from not understanding the logic behind her words, but now I seem to see it clearly. Regardless of her personality, Chizuru-san was always on point.

I don't know if she can see it or not, but I always felt inferior to Tsukinaga-san. I was happy that an angel like her was willing to be my girlfriend. But she is way too perfect for someone like me.

After the fight that ensued because I accused her of harming my close friend, I exposed all my incompetence to her. Despite that, she's still willing to accept me. Plus, she had said with her own mouth that she loved me not long ago. It made me think that we loved each other and believed that she wouldn't leave me.

But let's say a handsome, intelligent, and well-established man suddenly comes out of nowhere and wanted Tsukinaga-san to be his spouse, there is no guarantee that she will feel the same way about me. To prevent unwanted events from happening, I have to have a value that Tsukinaga-san won't turn away from me.

"Thanks for your advice, I'll keep that in mind. However, I don't want to go down that path. I also dislike it when Tsukinaga-san gets too close to boys. Therefore, I will also keep my distance from women other than her."

"Cih~You're not fun, Kenjiro-kun."

Chizuru-san looked disappointed with my answer.

After finishing our ice cream, we headed back to the inn. As I was walking uphill, I could see Tsukinaga-san standing on the upper side. Did she keep waiting for me in front of the inn all this time?

I stopped right in front of her but she didn't say anything. On the other hand, Chizuru-san patted my shoulder before leaving us.

"Thank you for earlier. Also, please keep what happened during our date a secret from others, will ya?"

When she had walked a few steps away, she came back as if she had forgotten something.

"Oh right! Please take this as a token of gratitude."

She leaned towards and kissed my cheek. It took me by suprise. I didn't have time to react.

Having done all the things to make things worse, she walked away with a big smile.

While I was still dumbfounded, I got a slap on the face. Nevertheless, I don't know if it's a slap or whatnot since it doesn't hurt that much. What happened next was much more painful.

"Aw aw aw! It hurts, Tsukinaga-san. What are you doing?"

She rubbed my right cheek, the place Chizuru-san kissed, roughly. Even though there was a handkerchief between her hand and my skin, it still hurt as hell.

"What else?! I want to erase that girl's marks from you!"

"But there are better ways to do it."

I held both of Tsukinaga-san's hands which made her can't move. But not long after, she slapped my hand away and tried to take off my clothes by force.

"Wait! What are you doing now?"

"Silence!"

When Tsukinaga-san yelled at me, I froze in place. In the same time, Tsukinaga-san stopped moving as well.

"You smell lots like her. I... hate it."

Her voice was trembling, as well as her hands.

Looking back, Chizuru-san did exude a strong scent, and she's been clinging to me all this time. So it's no wonder that the smell lingers on me.

Although she smelled good, I didn't like her scent that came from the perfume. Compared to her, I prefer the smell that tickles my nose right now.

"I'm sorry, Tsukinaga-san. It was something unavoidable. But don't worry, I prefer your soothing scent way better."

Since our bodies were close to begin with, it was easy for me to embrace her. I stroked her hair and I could smell the fresh scent of shampoo.

Yes, this is the best.

In contrast to me, Tsukinaga-san doesn't seem to be happy about being held by me. She pushed me away with all her might.

With teary eyes, she said, "Don't you dare come near me until you get rid of that disgusting smell."

After saying that, she left me with heavy steps.

It was the first time I saw her making such an expression. My chest feels tight. I didn't know what to say or do.

Due to my stupidity, I made Tsukinaga-san cry.
