Chapter 6:

Chapter 6

Fake Eyes

When Jay got back home from work, he looked very stressed. But, the police cars outside added to his stress even more. He immediately went to Wren's room when he heard what had happened. Her window was fixed and she was working on a chart.

"Wren!," Jay said.

She looked up. Her hair were tied in a bun. She looked really tired. Her eyes told him to not ask about anything. But he would still be asking her whatsoever.

"Hi. How are you?," she asked.

"How am I? How are you?!," Jay asked.

"I'm all okay," she blankly said.

He patted her head.

"Don't be so quiet. I know how big of a crybaby you can become," he said, smiling.

"Jay!," Wren said, sad.

She hugged her.

"Jay, I'm so scared now. I don't even know if anywhere is safe for me!," she said.

"It's okay. He's in the hospital. He can't hurt you," he reassuringly said.

"He was in jail last night but he still found me. How can I be sure the hospital will keep him away from me?!," she said.

"You worry too much. Don't think about him. It'll only strain your mind even more, then," he said.

"I'll try. How are you doing?," she said.

"I'm doing well...um, do you mind if I change my clothes first?," he said.

"Y-yeah, go on," she said.

He came back after changing into grey sweatpants and a grey sweatshirt. He had coffee in his hands for both of them.

"Here you go," he said.

He handed her the coffee. She was working and put it next to the chart she was working on.

"What are you doing?," Jay asked.

"I'm drawing a part of the museum I'm renovating right now," she answered.

"Oh, it's nice though I don't get anything. It's all blue, you know," he said, scratching his neck.

He was laughing. She laughed back at him.

"Yeah, true. How's work going?," she said.

"Very tiring! The patient is on a run right now," he said.

"What?!," Wren asked, shocked.

"He's gone! Mr. Min and I don't know what to do about him!," Jay said.

"No wonder you're so tired," she said.

"Extremely! He got into an accident or something. We're gonna see him tomorrow at the hospital. Do you wanna come along? It's fine if you don't wanna because you said you didn't like the smell of blood and medicine," he said.

"No, I'll come. I'd like to come," she said.

"Fine, then. I should go to my room now because you're busy and I'm really tired," he said.

"Yeah. I'm gonna sleep too," she said.

"I thought you weren't gonna sleep. That is why I got you coffee," Jay said, smiling.

"What? Shut up!," Wren said.

He started laughing. He was at her room's door to leave.

"You always say that, you know. You really hate it when I talk, I guess. Well good night!," he said.

She blushed.

"Leave!," Wren said.

She said that and slammed the door in his face. He was laughing on the other side.
