Chapter 21:

The Next Consequence

Reshape in Another World

A week has passed since. Celicia seems to be doing a lot better now. Whether it’s a façade or not I’m not so sure though…

Right now, Celicia and I have returned to the tea shop we visited before. The reason we're here is mostly because Celicia said something to Siofra that piqued her interest. So, we're currently browsing through the selections.

“It smells so nice…” Siofra muttered.

“I know right?” Celicia replied in a giddy tone, “Here, try this one out,” Celicia said as she grabbed a single container.

“It’s a comforting view, isn’t it?” Jun rests his arms and puts his chin on top of them, “Seeing two friends gleefully looking at my shop always makes me feel warm inside…”

“…That sounded wrong for some reason,” I muttered.

“Your mind is so clean huh…” Jun smacks my head.

“Ow!”

“Anyway…” Jun pauses for a moment. He continues, “Are you two-timing her?”

“No!”

“…?”

“What’s wrong Yuuma?”

“Oh, nono. It’s nothing, hahaha…” I let out a wry laugh.

“Come on man!” Jun nudges me whilst saying it in a whisper, “Just be honest with me,” Jun added with a smirk.

“Since when did you become this down bad?” I asked.

“Not like you’re any better.”

“…”
I wish I could argue with that.

“But be real with me; are you actually two-timing her? Or could it be…”

“Neither of those is correct,” I pressed my tone of voice, “Heck, I don’t even get along with the red-haired one that well…” I let out a sigh.

“That so…” Jun then gave a sigh, “That’s a bit disappointing…”

“…”

“Genuinely though; do you have any feelings for any of them?” Jun asks, his tone of voice taking a massive turn.

“…” I look at two of the girls that are gleefully looking at the teas on display, My gaze landed on the silver-haired girl who is grabbing a container from one of the tall cabinets.

“Her huh…” Jun said with a smirk.

“…”

“Question, don’t elves live for hundreds of years?” Jun asks.

“Yeah?” I tilt my head, “What about it?”

“It’s just… isn’t the age discrepancy a bit too much for you?”

“I don’t really care that much about ages, to be honest…” I shrugged.

“No, I meant on your lifespan.”

“…What do you mean?” I turn towards Jun, making eye contact with him.

“Don’t you know that between the two of you, you’re more likely to pass away first?” Jun asks with a stern face.

“…”

“If you ever decided to date her, have you considered the fact that you’re going to make her lonely for hundreds, or even thousands of years?”

“…”

“…! Sorry… I went too far…” Jun slumps his shoulders.

“It’s okay… It’s just…”

It's true that I've thought about it, but I never really delved into it that deeply. I mean, I only started thinking about it after Jun practically made me talk about it. Now that he brought this up again, I really have to start thinking about it…
