Sixth Line

The next day in the club room I was writing as fast as possible we had just three weeks left finish the light novel. But we had one problem we couldn't come up with a good ending.

“That’s not good too!” - Murakami complained.

“Better we stop for today.” - I suggested.

“You right, I'm starting to feel a little tired.” - agreed Murakami stretching his arms.

“let's call it a day guys.”-said Murakami.

“Just a moment” - suddenly said Sayuri.

“What Sayuri[ ]” - asked Murakami

“We are without a printer.”

“I have a printer if you want can I borrow.” - I suggested.

"Thanks, later I'll go to your house to get the printer but first I have something important to talk to you."

“So, we have something important to do, bye.” - Makoto put his hands in Sayuri’s shoulders and both hurriedly leaves the room.

“What do you want to talk?” - I asked feeling a little curious.

“You still haven't said if you like me or not.”

“Of course I do, but I'll date you just when we win the competition.”

“Why?”

Because if we don’t follow the same way maybe that could get in the way of our Carrers if I don’t pass even the exams maybe they don’t accept us - I turn my back on her.

we accompanied Harumi to his car, before she got in the car she turned around and kissed me on the cheek.

when I turned to go into the house my mother surprised me, she was standing in front of me with a big smile.

“What was that hum?”

“We are dating but not officially.”

“Finally!!, my boy is growing.” - gives me a strong hug.

I got out of her suffocating embrace and went to sleep earlier.

“don’t want dinner I'm going to bed.”

“Today we’ll finish this.” - said Harumi confidently.

“I already send messages yesterday for you to bring all the material.”

Harumi and I started to write what only took thirty minutes.

“Finally, we finish, now Makoto is your turn to review.”

Harumi sent the text by email to him and to our surprise it only took five minutes.

“I'm done!”

“Wait, it only took five minutes!” - said Harumi impressed.

“You're right, the text is good enough that I only need to make a few changes.”

“Sayuri you already have all drawings with you right?”

“Yes, here president.”

“Now just need to print.”

Some time later everything was printed and separated by volume luckily Harumi had a stapler in her bag, and we could finish.

“That's it, I'll take the novels and the printer so, I'll be here for some time, Susumu you will come with me right?"

“I'm sorry, I have to go somewhere but I'll help with the printer."

“o-ok, I'll leave in your house” - she replied with a slightly sad expression.

I leave the room quickly and go straight to a shop that sells rings.

I arrive at home, but Harumi wasn’t there

“Harumi passed by, where were you.”

“I went to buy this” - show the promise ring I bought for Harumi.

“Wow how you bought this? is so expensive.”

I only kept for a long time the money you and dad gave me as allowance.

After dinner went to my room and put the ring in the bedside table drawer and go to sleep.

A few days passes, was the day of the competition arrives. Several clubs were participating. And before some hours, one member to our club had to say the tittle, synopsis and go back to your seat waiting the results.

Our class teacher would announce the result she was on stage with one envelope in hand and began the announce “And the winner of the competition with the best light novel is..." suddenly she took a dramatic pause at that moment my hands began to swat and my heart start to race.

To calm me down Harumi who was sitting beside me put her hand in my shoulder we look at each other “Calm down! It's going to be all right.”

Suddenly, I feel someone looking at me when I look to the teacher, she was looking at us with mischievous eyes.

The winner is: Harumi’s club with Sayuri, Susumu and Makoto.

We celebrated a lot that day.

Two weeks later the results of the final exams come out was late and I come to see the results on mural in front of the school.

I began to look of my name on the list and was not finding when I was looking the end of the list I find my name “Mizushima Susumu” written on the list. Harumi came close to me I hug her tightly “i passed the exam!”- celebrated release her, she looks at the list and hugs me back “I passed too!”

“Now you can call me girlfriend and I call you boyfriend, Right?” - she asks with her arms around my neck.

No, there's still one thing missing, come with me, I take her to the town square which has a fountain, on the way it starts to snow, and the houses are all decorated with Christmas ornaments.

Arriving in front of the fountain I bend down and place my left knee on the ground I take the ring that I had kept she put your hands in front of your face in surprise. I open the box of the ring “Murakami Harumi, want to be my girlfriend?” - I asked tensely despite the slight smile on my face.

“Yes, I want to be your girlfriend!” - she cries and kiss me.

Before we kiss each other, we began to walk side by side when we are walking, I look to her face illuminated by the lights thought “If I can be her side, I can overcome any difficulty.” and we go together back home.
