Chapter 51 - a flower for my memory, my past and my future

This is the last day of the exam. Amin and Mariam finally had her focus on the exam. For me though, my neck has been given a dog collar compliments from Sylvia.

Few days ago….

“Darling…this is something I want to give you now” I realise something she lock, its a dog collar!?

“What the hell?” She put a line from the collar.

“This line is at 250 meter length…lucky its with retractable line”

“Big brother is always late back home”

“I went call to call Big sis again that big brother went home late”

“She said that he went with Mr Marcus and having fun with the nurse” MARIAM!!!!!

Sylvia’s eyes were of that yandere expression, and that is the most terrifying thing I seen in my life. With bruises and ear breaking torture leaving myself to wonder what I been doing with my life.

Amin and Mariam laugh at me because now I wear this permanent dog collar . With Slyvia still pissed with me.

“Darling, I don’t want to hear any excuses anymore unless you would love another torture again. Her sharp gaze is piercing my soul, now leaving me to wonder how the hell am I going to do about this. Even now, I’m the subject of rumours by the everyone even Mr Rahim.

Sylvia went ahead explain to Siti and Priscilla which is now, I’m subject to constant monitoring by them.

After the last paper was completed, everyone was relief with the final papers. The only thing I saw was Mariam and Amin celebrate like a maniac

“FINALLY!!! FREEDOM!!!!”

“YEAH!!!!!”

Those bastard!! They are free but what about me then? The three girls right now including Hana is in-front of the class. Mr Rahim was surprised by this which he tried to joke about

“Alex….looks like all your wives is in front right now….but they don’t really happy right now…don’t tell me you are going to be our own legendary playboy eh?” Is that what are you going to say, my life is about to get even shorter now. While I saw Amin and Mariam was celebrating, I took my heavy text book and throw at the two knocking both down. There is only one way right now, take that skill that I learn from Mr Marcus. Lucky that Sylvia did not tie me with the line. I don’t care anymore, I can’t take it. I throw my bag at the two and it landed at them.

“Sorry!!” I went through under Sylvia’s skirts and run towards outside. Another skill that I learn is parkour. I realise this after I started to embrace it, as if my limiter have been release.

My move have become even agile than before wondering if this is also one of the changes I’m facing. The only place that I could hide now is Mr Marcus office in the hostel. Once I reach there Mr Marcus is with Mat and Bakir who is helping him arranging the files in the office. Seems like my height is also increase again, somewhat in between 5’8 to 5’9. Getting taller than Amin.

“You look lively today kid…”

“Yeah, having girl trouble again” Mat is teasing me now but he actually indirectly hit Bakir who is crying while carrying the document

“yeah…..” Mat could not said anything, even myself could not said anything.

“Mr Marcus is there any place that I could hide for a while or maybe permanently staying here for a while…”

“Unfortunately there not enough room again…good luck with that kid, oh don’t forget today’s meeting…”

“Is it okay for me to rest here, I’m pretty sure I’m not going to survive after this…”

“Suit yourself kid, there is little gym there for you to workout”

“Got it”

While I was training. Mr Rahman was relaxing with his coffee there.

“Haha nothing coffee during this final break….”

I ignored him and continued my training. Mr Rahman explain to me about the situation with Amin.

“About the incident yesterday, it's only a part of it….”

“Uh huh….” I’m really going to ignored it because i had enough trouble with everything right now that i could not have a decent sleep. Behind the school is actually a hill, hidden within a legend that I heard rumours from the boys in the hostel.

“You know inside that hill, there is some sort of flower that only blooms in the night…” a flower? Could it be? I suddenly had flashback of that kind of flowers when me and Frederica were hanging out or dating I could say it.

9 years ago….

“You know this flower is called ‘princess of the night” they only blooms in the night and whither out in during the day. My dad brought it back from his research and I took the seed and plant it here.

“That is plain stupid there is no such thing as flowers bloom in the night”

Frederica took the flower and wear it on her head, she look beautiful.

“That is something special right?”

That flower.

“Hey guys?” I ask the student there.

“Yeah?”

“where do you find this flower?”

The guy pointed at his colleague.

“Harry!!! Oi!!” Harry approach me

“Yeah?”

“About that flower?”

“Oh! Yeah I gave to my mom last week, she loved it!!”

“What colour is it ?”

“White as like the moonlight itself…” its that flower!! I hold his shoulder

“Hey could you tell how to get there?”

“Easy, on top of the hill there is actually a tiny pond there with a small stream behind this hostel and head straight up…”

Mr Marcus glaring at him

“Since when I allowed anyone going out at night!?”

Everyone laugh and Harry respond

“Thats for my mom, for her birthday…”

I head straight out since its close to dawn.

“Mr Marcus I’m heading out for a while see you soon…”

I head out to the little hill that filled with vegetations. I slowly went straight. But what I don’t believed in my own eyes its Frederica, she is smiling at me. I followed her it was already dark. But the moon, shines really bright like the sun.

I got to be careful because in the forest anything could happen, I rather focus what I’m going to see. I carefully walk in the forest until I could hear the sound of a small stream. I head there and there it is. That flower, the Princess of the night.

It blooms ever brightly, that memory is still lingering within me. But this is Frederica is in-front of me.

“Dummy…”

“Stupid….”

“This flower….is what create this bond between us…” am I having hallucination? Why does I seen Frederica and communicate with her? I started to get a crazy I think.

Frederica pull out a flower from the pond and gave it to me.

“There you could plant it, and….here is another for you….” She put on my head.

Frederica is smiling just like when she was at that time, why does I saw another person, Natalie..Sylvia…. Why does the two is connected somehow..as if..

She only left me with a smile, and she disappeared again but with balls of light surrounds me, suddenly it disappeared.

“Just go dummy!!” I realise that now I’m in front of the hostel, I head back, only one thing for sure is that in my arm, the flower seed in my left arm and a bouquet of flower on my right. Once I head back, the three girls were there. They were really pissed.

“Darling…” Sylvia hold my arm, and she hug me.

“What the hell bro!!” Amin is also worried

Mariam and the others including Hana is here as well. Suddenly I heard a voice within me, Frederica suggested to me

“That flower put on their heads…” now I know why…

I started with Mariam attach that flower next to her ear.

“My…” Mariam started to blush

Then I give to Hana

“This is beautiful…”

Next I give to Tama

“This flower looks familiar”

“Later I’ll tell…”

Siti's reaction was humble when I gave it to her.

“Thanks darling…”

The funny thing is that the flower is enough for the ones that I cared for. Then I give to Priscilla

“Babe…this is beautiful…but I never seen this kind of flower before”

And lastly I give to Sylvia, she look beautiful, why does she is like a mirror of Natalie and Frederica?

“Alex…thanks…but you shouldn’t have trouble yourself for this…”

I only left it with a smile. And explain to Harry.

“That flower is called the Princess of the Night it only blooms in the night…”

“Wow how do you know about this bro?” I started to look down and smile at him

“Frederica…she was the one who love this flower”

“Who is Frederica?” Sorry Harry got you confuse with my statement. I went out and Mr Marcus said to me.

“Sorry kid, seems your friends here wanted to pitch in…” huh what is that suppose to mean? Amin hold my shoulder and explain that Mr Marcus already brief what is going on.

“You know this kind of job is related to all of us…” Amin said that Sylvia was the one that push Mr Marcus what is happening. And they know I’m involved.

“There is not a chance for us to be left behind again!” Mariam convince me.

“Big brother!! Me, big sis Siti and Tama will head back home!! Got it don’t be late!!” Tama Siti, and Hana left the hostel and I give to Hana.

“Take this and ask mom to plant it…”

“Got it!!”

When all its settle, Mr Marcus brief us to meet at old palace In signal hill. When everyone was getting ready, me and Sylvia is with me together in my bike. Sylvia ask me

“This flower I remember when my own late grandmother told me about this..”

“Frederica told me that this flower means admiration..and also good things doesn’t last…”

Sylvia hold me tightly, damn her boobs, her could feel it.

“I going to enjoy the moment until the end..”

“Sil…”

“Yeah?”

“I owe you a date right?”

“Yep…”

“Well, after this want to go to Kudat again?”

“Just the two of us?”

“yeah…there is another place that I need to see…” even though the real reason is that where is mom old research place.

“Sure…”

“It will a secret though…not even mom..and my friend..”

“Then I will be our own secret…”

Once we reach at the place. It seems there is gathering among people and mom is there…

“What the hell mom is doing here?”

Mr Marcus explain that Mr Rahman will be with mom and they will be inside the meeting but the real reason is that last faction of Borneo College that wanted to stay as it is, will be ready to attack them. Our job is to make sure it does not happen.

Me and Sylvia as partners, while Priscilla is with Mr Marcus, Amin is with Mariam getting ready for their ambush plan.

I could hear a loud commotion from inside the meeting room. Although right now, someone is in front of the main door. Its them, Halim and Dae-hyun along together a few others members of the student.

“What the hell is this!!?”

“I wonder what are you guys doing here then?”

“That stupid, weak faction wanted to change this school!! That is all bullshit!!”

“Wow you brought an army eh?”

“An insurance if the meeting were a failure to us….”

“Dae-Hyun suddenly attacked me, only been countered with a mean roundhouse kick by Sylvia, and it smash to his face. Ouch.

“A non black belt fighter right?”

“Stupid asshole like you guys!!”

“Just the two of you, you know this place is already surrounded!!”

“Really?”

A really loud shouting from the other side, that is Mariam for ya.

“Stupid asshole, finally letting of steam!!! Right honey!!!”

“YEAH!!”

“What the hell is going on ?”

Sylvia is already started knocking down goons along the way, though Dae-Hyun is really taking her back. But I realise that Halim brought an arm person including he brought a gun. Aiming at Sylvia. Shit!!!

“A bitch like her is always a whore!! Traitor!!” I used my arm to block the shot. That really hurt.

“ALEX ! NO!!!! YOU BASTARD!!! HALIM!!!” I held her back

“Its okay it won’t hurt much…” I could see Halim going to get killed by Slyvia

“Hey!! Thats not what we plan before?”

“Shut up!!, my dignity and heritage all went into smoke because of him!!! And that bitch!!” Looks like he brought the remaining of Maruk’s men. And Uncle Karim’s men as well. They really arm to the teeth.

“Remember kid…let your anger flow away but leave that towards them…”

Dae-Hyun said to Sylvia

“Sorry though looks like I’m going to stop…” he turn around back to back with Sylvia against the remaining members of the school. Halim pull back called another person who looks like a someone on drugs. Although some of the Borneo College student start to change of hearts

“Hey i’m tired of this!! We just wanted to enjoy school!!” Looks like Halim is losing supporters.

Some of the students started to side with us. What a sight!

“Do you know what will happen of you turn your back against us!!?”

“Ah!! Shut it!! Halim you never understand our feelings!!”

“Slyvia!! Sorry for what happen before! This time we going to stop them!!”

Slyvia getting closer to me

“Looks like we getting a lot of people right now!!”

“Yeah….”

Halim then called the goons and started pointed their guns at them. I instantly head towards them. Looks like they are not even close than guys that i meet the last time.

That training from Mr Marcus paid off. An instant roundhouse kick to Halim’s head looks like he forgotten what pain is, he crawl down in pain and Slyvia look at him in rage.

“You hurt my darling just now” damn i could hear Halim’s screams from there realise that i should not pissed her off. During the commotion Melissa is there, she called the police and they arrive just in time to arrest them.

“Looks like we found the motherload of gangster!!”

The meeting ended with a fruitful result. Mom saw us and she explain that the board agreed to merge Borneo and SIGMA as a single entity. I could hear the joy from the students while Slyvia hug me

“We did it, finally!!”

I only smile although i had an ominous feeling from my heart telling me its not over yet.

While they enjoying inside, i went out and saw someone that look familiar. Its Detective Tracy

“Kid….looks like you doing well in this school…”

“What are you doing here sir?

“Well Faruq and Haqib told me they manage to apprehend the final blow on the issue from this town.”

“Ah…”

Mr Tracy just give me the news and bad news

“Here look at this…”

A picture of Damien killing someone. What the hell happen to you Damien?

“Ya Allah”

“He is doing vigilante right now, after he meet with Mr Hawk about something. But Natalie intervene to protect his dad. Right now 4 members of the De Santo Gang have been killed …”

“No….what is going on Damien?” This is what he is talking about.

“Did Damien meet you before?” Now i had a feeling that i’m going to be involved in this…”

“Not sure but what your thoughts about this”

“Reason is…. Nat doesn’t want you to be involved in this….” The hell?

“Why?”

“Something about killing each other”

If Damien hurt Nat, he will be.

“Shit…this is getting out of hand…”

“But if you ever come to LA give a call kid….”

Thats funny i didn’t tell my intentions but must be Uncle Faruq. What is happen right now in LA? Are you telling me that….

“Mr Tracy…”

“Yeah?”

“did Mr Hawk mention anything else at all?”

“In fact he did, something about the 102 gang case…a file case….” Damn…that must be it. I knew it, he found it…

“Do you know something or anything kid?”

“huh…nah nothing at all…”

“don’t hide from me kid…”

“Yeah…if find anything I’ll call you soon, but what happen to Nat?”

Mr Tracy did not respond and said to me

“All is taken care off” that kinda remind me of Darrel incident before

“Just like Darrel….? That’s what I’m worried about”

“………” Mr Tracy hold my shoulder and said to me

“Just between you and me….there is something that hung about….”

What I know is that I need to meet with Naomi, because there is a reason to it. Naomi was not just our madam but she is also our informant. Everything that happen in LA, she get all the information by her own customer. That is how me and Damien knows where to hit and where to avoid.

“At the moment kid, just….don’t do anything stupid. If you do come to LA, call me got it…”

“Got it….”

He left. Leaving me to wonder. Sylvia called me

“Do you know that man?”

“Yeah, he is a cop…from the US”

"What is he doing here?” Kinda avoid this kind of talk for the moment

“Oh its nothing….”

“Oh then they all are celebrating and announcing the result of the meeting…”

“Yeah…could you go first, I got to call someone right now…please”

“Then I’ll stay here then…”

“Please…its personal…” Sylvia seems curious; and it's tricky to convince her that it's nothing to worry about. At least now she understands it. She heads towards the meeting hall while I head out someone quiet, and make a phone call to Mr Hawk. The phone rang it was a while and Mr Hawk answered the call.

“Hey kid…”

“Hey Mr Hawk…” I wanted to know what did Damien ask of Mr Hawk

“How are you kid? Do you still have nightmares again?”

“Sometimes Mr Hawk…but at least it started telling me….”

“That is interesting….Nat is probably busy right now”

“Its okay…did Damien meet you before this?”

“Yeah…is there something wrong?”

“I just wondering, what is talking to you about?”

“Well its all about the field trip, which is wet and naked although someone’s bikini is having a second taught about it” that slang, its a code…. But where do I hear about this… it describe the files that was found, its listed all of the members that involved and gotten killed during that day. FBI is having another mission. That’s what it mean’t

“Save the bride kid…” that’s another code.. the bride mean Damien, save means he is a lost cause and kid is myself.

“The bride is secured but looking forward for a party” I know it, Its Darrel code word when we tried to contact to each other. Damien manage to elude everyone, taking down without a trace.

“Well then it's also the day when I forgot the flower for it, that party is suppose to be weekends…” what I mean to him is its not safe to contact about this, will talk to him again.

“Well then Alex see you soon then…”

“Yeah see ya…” I hung up. There is something wrong about this, Uncle Haqib called me and said that this is a letter from Mr Tracy.

I open the files and it's about the incident of 102. I keep it inside my shirt and head inside. I rather read it somewhere safe.

“Son, you seems to have a lot of event coming soon ya…”

“yep…soon” now I need to settle all of the school before head out to LA. Mariam went out and shouted at me

“MR GLOOMY!!! HURRY UP WE FINALLY MADE IT, ITS OFFICIAL WE ARE MERGING!!”

“Nice!!” I went inside knowing that this is school is about move forward. I really hope that I could pull this off.
