Chapter 40:

Necromancer

Hacker Class

"Um sir! Hello! Hello there!?"

Alden heard a faraway voice dragging him out of his thoughts.

Alden opened his eyes and he found himself staring at Prince's face.

"Oh, you're awake!" Prince said, his eyes widening.

Alden rubbed his eyes and glanced at his surroundings. The walls of the rocky cavern glimmered as they reflected light from the torches that sat along the walls. Pieces of rubble and debris lay scattered throughout the cavern and Alden found that he himself was partially covered with some dirt.

"What happened?" Alden asked, mostly to himself.

"Well...there was that gas thingy, and everyone started acting wierd, and saying wierd things but because I'm kind of immune to gas nothing happened to me but something happened to Captain and she got all mad and floated in the air like she does and she suddenly broke the ground and I fell through. But luckily, I found you too so now we can find the others," Prince spoke rapidly, like a machine gun. And Alden barely had any time to digest all the information.

"I...I see," Alden could only mumble with disbelief.

Prince Cele, by now Alden had already guessed what his powers were. Though Alden was unsure, he guessed it has something to do with gas. That's why it made sense he was immune to gas, and that could also be how he formed explosions.

"Hey Prince," Alden asked, turning to face the guy, who was busy searching for something amongst the rubble.

"Yeah?"

"What's your ability?"

Prince paused what he was doing, and threw a glance toward Alden.

"I manipulate gas that flows through my veins, creating explosions. It increases the ferocity of my attacks."

Alden nodded his head slowly, he had guessed it was something like that.

"Alright! Let's get going," Prince said, turning away from the spot in which he was and jumping down the small pile of rocks on which he was.

Alden silently nodded and got up, he dusted himself before following Prince out through a tunnel.

Alden silently followed, observing the walls of the dungeon as they walked through it.

"Wait!" Alden whispered to Prince.

""Huh?" Prince asked, glancing at him with confusion.

There was some type energy in the air, a dead and a dirty energy.

Alden walked past the confused Prince and kept going forward until he reached the end of the tunnel, he peeked out from the hole and widened his eyes at what he saw.

A large number of Doom Bats and Doom Lizards lay dead on the floor, and a green mist surrounded their bodies.

A hooded figure's back faced the entrance, and the person, whoever it was, walked slowly, his gaze fell amongst the dozens of bodies on the ground, it was like he was carefully analysing and calculating something.

Alden could hear him mumbling to himself, before he stopped moving glanced left and right.

"Awaken," The silhouette said, his voice suddenly audible throughout the dungeon, and it was a cold and unaffected voice.

The bodies of the monsters began twitching, and one by one, monsters stood up, their eyes glowing green.

Their screeched filled the dungeon as they were somehow raised from the dead, and Alden was stunned into petrification. It was a strange power that he was witnessing, a power to bring the dead, to live.

"With this power..." Alden mindless mumbled. He however, shook his head.

No! This power probably allows one to use the dead as puppets. A person would probably have an army of zombie-like underlings and though they would be more intelligent then zombies, they'd have no emotions, no genuine will and most of all, no humanity.

He would have someone that looked like and spoke like his father. But not his father.

The hooded figure suddenly spun around, and his eyes were on the spot where Alden and Prince hid.

"Ah..." The person mumbled."They weren't supposed to see me... but that's fine. Those two would be valuable additions to my army. The F- class is weak, but I would be able to grow his strength, and his ability would no doubt, be helpful."

"We won't be that easy to take down, creep!" Prince yelled as he held up his daggers. Alden conjured a puppet out of rocks. Aldens conjured puppets were kind of like golems, since he made them out of rocks.

"I'm not sure I can hold back here," Alden thought to himself.

If he did, he could die.
