Chapter 1:

Issue #1

Bio-Stream Volume 1

A young 16-year-old with a purple hat and a blue zip-up hoodie black slim jeans on black and blue sneakers on running through the streets of Zone City. The teen’s name is Usagi Jones a young man with brown skin and red dreads that run down the back and side of his hat. Usagi looked at his watch and saw it was 8 o’clock on the dot and he couldn’t help but think he’s gonna be late for dinner because he lives with his sister and her husband and they have been the ones raising him because Usagi is much younger than his older sister so it was legal for her to take custody of him since their parents passed 4 years ago. Usagi was in the incident but he ended up surviving with minor injuries oddly enough.

Usagi stopped in his tracks as he saw something suspicious going on inside the bank on a street called 616 Parker Street near where cars would turn the corner type area. Usagi just sighed as his eyes turned a bloodshot red and a red aura appeared around him as he puts the hood on his head to hide his face a bit more but adjusted the hat before doing so and he zipped up the hoodie and went over to the bank. Four guys in burglar masks were trying to break into an atm machine inside the bank. “Hey, Keaton can you smell the money? We about to be rich,” one of the robbers said as Keaton looked at him as he continued loading the bags with the money. “Brock can you stay focused for two minutes we don't touch this money til the boss gives us our cut,” Keaton explained. Brock nodded in annoyance.

Usagi walked into the bank casually as the four guys finished grabbing the money. “Alright boys let’s get going,” the other robber said as they all headed towards the exit but stopped when they saw Usagi Jones. Brock looked at the others. “Who the hell is this guy?” he asked as Keaton shrugged. Usagi just sighed once again. “Look, this is the only warning you’ll get so put the money back and nobody leaves in an ambulance,” he said. Keaton started laughing. “Oh, really I guess we better put this money or this KID is gonna hurt us,” Keaton laughed uncontrollably as Usagi raised his left arm a bloody arrow spawned from his hand and sliced Keaton in the arm making him fall to the ground screaming in pain.

The other robbers pulled out their guns and started shooting. “You just made your last mistake kid!” Brock shouted as Usagi created a red barrier out of his red aura and made it burst to blow the rest of the three back. Usagi ran over and punt-kicked Brock in the head knocking him out. The last two tried to grab their guns but Usagi made two blood arrows stab them in the arms making them stay stuck to the floor. “Hmph, this is reality,” Usagi said as he left the building ran to an alleyway and deactivated his power and takes the hood off and unzipped the coat, and continued his walk home looking at his watch seeing it was 8:57 P.M. he started sprinting home. Usagi thought about how hard it was being a hero well vigilante because he just started this gig about a month ago because of the anniversary of his parent's death and he always questioned how did he get out of it alive with only minor injuries?

Usagi thought about it every day through school and at home but he could never find an answer and he would read comics about characters wh went through similar experiences. The incident killed his parents but Usagi ended up with this strange ability where he utilize his bloodstream as power which Usagi dubs as Bio-Stream. Usagi saw it more as an opportunity to do what guys in the comic books do so he became a vigilante dealing with criminals but his time management still needs work because he’s late to school constantly and he always hit the 9 o’clock mark of making it home at night because fighting criminals takes a certain amount of time but it doesn’t affect his grades as he stays above average because he does the stay at school program to keep his grades up.

Usagi entered the neighborhood called Wayne Arces. It’s a pretty good neighborhood that Usagi’s older sister Sabrina Jones bought with the money she saved from journalist money she makes with her podcast he does with her husband because they believe that a lot of journalists that are mainstream are afraid of losing their jobs than talking about the ever-growing crime rate in Zone City. They often praised who they call, The Bio-Stream Warrior for his war on crime in the city so they are pro-Usagi Jones in a way even though they don’t even know that it’s Usagi stopping the bad guys. Usagi walked up to a brick house with a red door with the number 1610 on it with a silver jeep with a license plate saying Jones 3:16 on it.

He gulped as he walked through the door into a karate chop on the head from his older sister Sabrina a woman with short red hair dressed in her night clothes glaring at him. “Where in the hell were you?” she asked in a stern voice. Usagi bit his lip trying to think of a lie that didn’t sound too stupid for him. “I was at the Library until it closed,” he started sweating bullets as Sabrina sighed even though it was a lie she didn’t have the energy to scold him so she walked off. “You need to learn to be home by 8 o’clock on the dot you know the crime rate is bad in this city I almost had Micheal go out and look for you,” Sabrina said rubbing her face because was clearly tired and Usagi felt guilty because he’s just only making his sister worry more. “I’m sorry big sis, I’m gonna try harder to be home before it gets too late,” he says as she nods heading upstairs.

Usagi just sighed rubbing his face and heading up to his room. He knew it wasn’t easy raising him the past 4 years since their parents passed but he chose the vigilante life so he knew he was gonna have to be better at blending the two. Usagi flopped on his bed his room was filled with memorabilia of superhero comics and novels with posters of manga girls and his room is the definition of a man cave or a boy cave. A smile appeared across Usagi’s face as he was ready to get better at this vigilante gig he chose.
