Chapter 16:

Issue #16

Bio-Stream Volume 1

  A few weeks later…

The news report came on in The Vaz-Jones household. Sabrina sat down with Micheal to watch. The news reporter talked about what happened two weeks ago at the old Parker Center where Bio-Stream and Bloodmaker faced off. They also explained to the public that it’s a good thing the problem is Bloodmaker escaped and hasn’t appeared for a while and no one’s seen Bio-Stream since he entered the old now torn-down Parker Center so he is considered missing to the public.

In his office, Mayor Sudachi was rubbing his face with his hands because he knew the press would continue to swarm him over his next step since to the people Bio-Stream couldn’t even handle the Bloodmaker. Sudachi got off of his chair and strolled to the window sighing. “This is just one big bad headache one after the other,” he said as his secretary brought him his coffee. Sudachi took it and took a sip continuing to look out the window.

Sabrina sat st her desk trying to think of a plan for the next podcast episode to find Usagi. Micheal looked over at her seeing she was in full detective mode. She was writing down possible clues and places that would give them the advantage in finding him. “Sabrina you’ve been up all night maybe you should get some rest,” he said as Sabrina ignored him while continuing to write down more ideas for finding Usagi. Micheal got up and went over and took the pencil out of her because it was starting to hurt him to see her so beat up.

Sabrina got angry with the bags and black spots on her eyes and her hair messy with her clothes looking kinda out of whack. “WHY DID YOU DO THAT MICHEAL!?” she shouted as Micheal teared up looking angry. “I DID IT FOR YOUR OWN GOOD SABRINA THIS IS KILLING YOU IF YOU WANNA FIND USAGI THEN YOU NEED TO BE WELL RESTED AND LOOK LIKE YOU’RE THINKING CLEARLY BECAUSE RIGHT NOW YOU LOOK LIKE YOU’RE ABOUT TO FALL APART!” Micheal shouted as Sabrina slapped him hard in the face.

“TRY TO AT LEAST UNDERSTAND THE POSITION I’M IN MICHEAL, FOR FOUR YEARS USAGI LOST MOM AND DAD AND THEY WERE THE ONES RAISING HIM AND I SWORE NEVER TO LET ANYTHING HAPPEN TO HIM BECAUSE I DIDN’T WANT TO LOSE HIM LIKE I LOST MOM AND DAD I’M SCARED BECAUSE USAGI IS A GOOD KID AND I BEEN SO WRAPPED UPP IN THIS PODCAST THAT I WASN’T KEEPING AN EYE ON HIM SO I FEEL RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS WELL BEING!” she shouted in tears as Micheal gave her a tight hug.

Micheal thought for a moment because he remembered how hard it was for the two of them to take care of Usagi at first back when he was 12 years old just starting grade 6 at West Stone Junior High School at a completely new school in the middle of the year. He also remembered Usagi feeling like an outsider every day and he sighed looking at Sabrina. “Yeah, I know how you feel it has been rough on everyone so I’ll tell you what, you get some rest and we’ll start first in the morning to search for Usagi okay?” he asked softly. Sabrina nodded and headed up into the room. Micheal turns the lights off downstairs thinking to himself trying to figure out where would Usagi go if he doesn’t stay in contact for two weeks.

Stacy and Nikki walked into Martin’s office where he was asleep after another long night in the office. “Little brother wake up,” Nikki said karate chopping his head and making him wake up. Martin looked around and shook his head. “Huh? Oh Nikki you’re still here as usual,” he said wiping his face. Stacy sat on the couch. “So another long night Martin?” Stac asked as Martin nodded. “Yeah, Mr. Newton wanted me to get these papers done on the land development over where that Old Paker Center used to be when that damned Bloodmaker and Bio-Stream were fighting at,” he said trying not to get angry.

“You know I’ve been trying to buy that building for the longest because I was gonna turn it into a safe space for kids who were like me,” Martin said as Nikki looked at him. “So you’ve kept that dream alive huh?” Nikki asked. Martin nodded but he felt very disappointed because now he knew he couldn’t keep the dream alive now that the place is torn down but that didn’t stop him because he had other plans in the works to make a safe haven for kids who love comics and such. Stacy stood up. “Maybe we can buy that building near the congress building I mean Mayor Sudachi wouldn’t mind so maybe I can talk to him for you,” Stacy explained as Martin looked over at her. A smile appeared on his face as a smirk appeared on Nikki’s face. “Well, it’s nice to see that the newlywed couple are willing to help each other,” she teased as the two of them blushed. “S-Shut up Nikki,” Martin said turning to look out the window as Stacy and Nikki started laughing.

In a hideout in an undisclosed location, Usagi woke up looking around patched up with his red dreads on his face. “W-where am I?” he asked himself. The woman with red hair dressed in a black leather coat with a black skirt and long black boots with a red and black fox mask came into the bunker room where Usagi was. “You’re finally awake Usagi,” she said as Usagi looked over at her. “Who are you?” he asked as the woman sat on the edge of the bed. “Well, you deserve to know,” she said taking her mask off as Usagi’s eyes got wide. “Is it really you?” Usagi asked as tears filled his eyes. The woman nodded. “Yup it’s me Kaguya Jones your mother,” she said.
