Chapter 34:

An ancient prophecy?

Rebirth of the mighty overlord

The two-sided door released an otherworldly pressure as the unknown symbols carved on either side glowed with an ancient power.

The door stood roughly twenty meters tall and with a width of ten cm wide.

For billions of years this ancient looking door hadn't opened as countless powerful existences tried but all had failed to even make it budged.

There had been many theories circulated throughout the different worlds regarding what resided behind the door.

Some say a powerful demon was sealed away by a righteous hero, while others say that a powerful artifact was placed there waiting for the day someone worthy would come and claim it.

So far no one had been able to confirm whether these theories were true or not. Even now it is considered to be one of the biggest mysteries in the history of creation.

Even the most powerful beings the "Higher existence" Were not able to open the door. The only clue that was left behind was some vague words written on an old and ancient looking stone tablet that was broken and incomplete.

"To oppose her is to seek death, to resist her is to suffer eternity in silence... Only the sword that manipulates life wielded by the chosen partner can oppose her fearsome might. Until the coming day he will...?"

No one had been able to understand what the message implies even to this day, as there are many missing pieces to the message.

As for the sword that manipulate life, there were numerous spirit swords and even swords with powerful runes that is able to control different types of energies, but no one had been able to see one that is capable of manipulating life energy, one of the purist forms of energy.

Another thing they didn't understand is the chosen partner. The message clearly spoke about a powerful entity that lived on the other side but without all the remaining stone tablets it was impossible to decipher the message completely. However, what deeply troubled the higher existences is that the energy emanating from the stone tablet is the same energy used by the race that had been erase from history.

"The fallen" As so many decades passed and the era where the fallen lived had ended eons ago many of the inhabitants of the higher and lower world's that once feared this powerful and unstoppable race had completely forgotten them.

The higher existences were sure whatever laid behind that sealed door had something to do with that race, whether it was a bad thing or a good thing, it was hard to tell.

They could only wait and observe. The message seems to foretell a certain prophecy that would happen at some point in the future. They could only patiently wait for that day to come.

If it is a prophecy that could help the universe prosper then they would welcome it, however...

If it is a prophecy that threaten the safety of the universe, then they would destroy it without mercy.

...

As the two beings with powerful auras continue to observe the ancient engravings written on the stone tablet, they couldn't help but frown.

"This energy is strange... I've traveled across countless worlds before but, I've never felt this kind of energy before. How mysterious." A beautiful woman dressed in a royal robe with silky black hair and golden eyes muttered as her eyes shone with deep interest.

Standing a few meters behind her a stout man who donned an exquisite silver armor with short black hair moved closer.

"Princess you should be careful. This place gives me an unsettling feeling." The stout man who seemed to be her guard said. "Don't you think it's interesting?" The princess said as her bright golden eyes sparkled as though a thousand shining stars were twinkling within them.

As a box princess she naturally liked exploring more than usual. For her mysteries were what keep things more interesting in this dull and boring world.

Soon, the princess scanned her eyes onto the images carved onto the wall. The images showed a woman with long black hair. Her hair seems to be made from darkness itself, furthermore the woman seems to be surrounded by darkness itself.

On another wall opposite to the previous painting the image carving of another woman with white hair could be seen. Unlike the other woman who was surrounded by darkness this woman seems to be surrounded by blood instead.

Both girls seem to be sisters as their features that could vaguely be seen resembles each other.

One image showed everything being consumed by darkness while the other seem to be consumed by blood.

The princess narrowed her eyes and decided to burn their images deep into her eyes. And with an elegant twirl of her body that causes her robe to flutter by her rotation she gracefully walked towards the exit.

...

Meanwhile, back inside the dragon clan...

Alan observed Alan, Trisa and Suzu as he stood on the roof. They seem to be playing tag as they kept running around the garden with liveliness.

{Hey, I'm here... Switch with me.}

Alan said to his clone.

{It's about time! You have no idea how embarrassing this is for me to play such childish game.}

The fake Alan complained in a sullen tone.

{Yeah, sorry about that. But come to think of it I really don't want to have to engage in such things so maybe you should...}

{No way! We are switching back right now!}

{My title 'overlord' Would be questioned if anyone knew about this!}

{How is that any different from me, though?}

Alan tilted his head. His pride was always really high. Even though he had the body of a child he was naturally troubled internally.

{Hmph, you're the original, aren't you? Shouldn't you take responsibility for what happens here? I won't be able to maintain my form since time is running out anyway.}

{Sigh, fine come meet me around the back.}

Alan shrugged his shoulder in resignation.

[He hehe... I don't get why you are so embarrassed. After all, despite your many years of experience it's like I said before you are a child to those around you.] Akane suddenly said.

{Shut up Akane!} The real and the fake Alan replied simultaneously. "Is something wrong, young master?" Trisa asked.

The fake Alan flinch when he heard the sudden voice so close to his ear. He then glanced to both Trisa and Suzu who were observing him closely.

{I'll be hiding behind the wall over there.}

He felt his connection to his other self and glanced towards the roof of the building. After seeing Alan nodding his head, he turned his attention back to both Trisa and Suzu.

"U-Umm... I just remembered I have something I have to do can you two give me a minute?" Alan asked. "Umm... Sure?" Trisa answered as she blinked her eyes blankly in confusion. Suzu simply shrugged her shoulder as she turned her gaze away with indifference.

Alan left them with some parting words. And after arriving at a remote location where there was no one around he swaps places with the real Alan. It was only after five minutes did Alan returned.

With the retreat of the dragon army peace finally returned back to the kingdom. Cole dragon did not return to the dragon clan, instead he went to report directly to the king.

...

The scene change...

Inside a beautiful palace that was several thousands of kilometers away from the kingdom of Nahinil.

A burly man dressed in an extravagant suit sat down on the terrace of the royal palace that towered over the many buildings below.

There were several maids attending to him, each were extremely beautiful and had a seductive body that could easily aroused the lust of any man.

The red-haired man who sat down around the table drinking tea while gazing out into the far distant was the man known as the "Dragon emperor" A being who had lived for thousands of years and feared across the world.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Suddenly as the dragon emperor was sipping his tea three figures dressed in black appeared and knelt down before him. "The fact that you're here means that you have already achieved what I ask you to do, right?" He put down his teacup onto the table as he gazes at them with serious eyes.

"Y-Yes, your majesty." The man who knelt down in the middle said as he took out a small box and handed it to the dragon emperor. The dragon emperor took the box and carefully opened it to see what was inside. Inside the box was a small inconspicuous looking gem that exuded a powerful pressure.

The gem seems to bathe with the blood of countless dragons. Dragons were being who were born from natural energies of the world, because of their abundance of magical power they were sought after for making weapons or energy supply.

The dragon emperor had lost a great deal of his strength after his last battle against the Phoenix empress, while she was unable to kill him, she did injure him greatly.

The difference between the dragon emperor and the Phoenix empress is that the dragon emperor had a strong body and tough defense, while the Phoenix empresses magical attack was slightly higher than the dragon emperor.

She was also very resilient as her flames allowed her to heal from almost any injury inflicted onto her body as long as her heart and brain is not damaged.

So, while she was also injured during their last clashed her wounds had healed a long time ago.

The dragon emperor promptly places the gem in his mouth and swallowed it with a gulp.

His eyes widen as he felt his magical power rising. His lips spread into a haughty smile. "... With this it shouldn't be long before I returned to my peak! Next time Phoenix empress, I shall have your head as my trophy!" He exclaimed as he gazed into the direction of the sacred mountain where the Phoenix empress resided.
