Chapter 53:

Demon from the past

Spice of Life

As night fell, the restaurant prepared for the diner rush.

"Rika, please make sure you move Waki's sister to the back. Some very important guests are coming in 15 minutes," Masaru stated.

"No need for that, Waki finished thawing- er, melting her out of her waxy prison, so she's just sitting at a table. Guess she works for whomever's coming," Rika stated.

Over in the luxury seating area, Wakaha was crawling around on the floor.

"Uh, why're you crawlin, sis?" Waki asked.

"I'm making sure the room is safe. Some very important people will be coming," Wakaha stated as she stood up.

She was now free from the wax, though her hair was a bit soggy and moist.

"I hope I don't get yelled at for my hair," Wakaha grumbled as she headed for the bathroom.

"So how was my food?" Waki asked.

"Surprisingly good."

"You could always, ya know come home."

"This may officially be my job, but it is more like a parole. I wasn't just absolved of all the killing I did, rather I'm serving as their bitch rather than serving a prison sentence, though like a prison sentence, there is a time frame. I've only got a few months left then I'm free. Though not sure what I'd do. I might end up sticking around in the government. Ugh, though I hate how strict it is there."

"You used to have so much fun when you were a hitwoman."

"Sadly I'm never gonna be as carefree and happy. *Sigh* Maybe I'll become a shooting instructor or something, then at least my skills won't dull," Wakaha sighed as she left the room.

                                                                             ...

Black sedans pulled up to the restaurant as various political leaders disembarked from them and entered. Benihime was selected to be the greeter by a majority vote.

"That's quite the line up, I recognize a few of them. To be honest I really don't want to interact with them after all that's happened both with me and my father," Itsuki trembled.

"Guess you'll be on kitchen duty then," Rika grinned.

"So what about me?" Mimi asked.

"You got your proper ID the other day, so you're fine. Not sure if all those guys are friendly towards the Ginkawas, but how the hell would they know who you are."

"Guess I can continue waiting for the other customers then," Mimi smiled.

As Mimi stepped forward, she suddenly went pale and began clutching her stomach.

"Mimi!?" Matcha cried.

"Oi, Mimi what's- _!?"

Rika's eyes immediately went bloodshot with rage as she noticed a woman entering the restaurant. She wore a business suit and dress shoes and had short, slicked back hair that was a putrid dark green and looked as though someone had smeared sludge on her head with a spatula. Despite it being 9 years, she looked exactly the same and still had her trademarked professional smile on her face as she did when Rika last saw her. It was Ruchi Ookuma, the one Rika hated more than any one.

"I'LL-MMPH!?" Rika glared as Mimi covered her mouth with her hand and exerted all her strength to drag Rika back into the kitchen.

"MMPH NGH MMPH MMPH!" Rika fumed.

"No! I know she upsets you. My stomach feels awful, but I'm not going to let you lose yourself to blind rage again," Mimi tearfully pleaded.

Itsuki and Matcha picked up that something was wrong and began aiding Mimi as she dragged Rika towards the pantry. Itsuki grabbed some duct tape, and the three bound and gagged the raging Rika.

"MMPH NGH MMPH!" Rika fumed.

"What's going on!?" Masaru shouted as he noticed the spectacle.

"Oh, uh, Rika was about to pick a fight with one of the V.I.P. guests, but we stopped her," Itsuki nervously stated.

"*Sigh* Well good job to the three of you then. Mimi, could you be their serv-"

"Uh, sorry Col, but my stomach gets queasy when I get near em. I feel better in the kitchen though," Mimi nervously smiled.

"Then just continue serving regular customers, but if your stomach gets worse, go home."

"Yes sir Col!"

"Please just go back to referring to me as boss."

"I guess I'll handle the serving then," Matcha sighed.

                                                                               ...

After styling her hair in a different way, Mimi reemerged and continued to wait tables for the normal customers as Matcha took a deep breath before heading to the V.I.P. area.

Mutsumi nervously sat in the V.I.P. area disguised as Reika as Matcha introduced herself.

"Hello, welcome to Ryokoma, I'm Matcha and I'll be your server tonight. May-"

"Matcha? Tell me girl, is the manager trying to send a message to me?" the woman with the sludge cut glared.

"M- Miss O-"

"MADAM Ookuma!" the woman glared.

"M- Madam Ookuma, t- this is not solely a group of your supporters," a nervous middle-aged man sweated.

"Oh? Well, I shouldn't have expected intelligence from a man so dumb. A majority of the people present in this room are allied with my movement. I even paid for the reservation, therefore I get the ultimate say on service. Now, "Matcha" what is your real name," Ookuma glared as her bodyguards began to circle Matcha.

"M- Matcha Myouchi," Matcha cried.

"Myouchi? ...So your legal name IS Matcha then correct?" Ookuma glared.

"Y- yes," Matcha whimpered.

"Ara, you really shouldn't bully a young girl like that just because she's named after something you hate, MISS Ookuma," Reika's voice rang out from the hidden speaker Mutsumi had on her.

"Reika Yuzume, I'm merely testing to see if the manager of this establishment is trying to send a message to me," Ookuma glared.

"No, I doubt Masaru Ryono would do such a thing, he probably just views you as another V.I.P. customer."

"I was referring to the other manager as well. Well, no matter. I doubt this establishment has many employees that are sympathetic to my cause. Now ladies, would you like to sample any of these offerings?" Ookuma asked her supporters.

"Hey, we're here too!" An elderly man with a white mustache and sideburns glared.

"Shut up. Now as for me, I'll have all these items, in to-go boxes," Ookuma sneered as her smile returned.

                                                                          ...

"Mmph ngh mmph ngh mmph," Rika grumbled as Waki stepped over her to grab something.

"Sorry girl, Mimi said not to touch you till the V.I.P.s are gone," Waki shrugged.
