Chapter 12:

The Weird Fruitsman

My Weird Internship

after walking across a path that became hidden amongst the trees and the vast grasslands, we made it into a village that looked very different compared to where we came from. from the clothes, and the architectural style. most of the villagers had pale white skin with blonde hair and blue eyes, and the rest were black and brown. Pale white and red blonde, it was all very similar to Vivi's stature. and the buildings were brick and wood structures.

"I think...this is my house...."

We looked at Vivi sharply.

"pfft... I'm just kidding. So, where are we going?" Vivi asked with her soft smile.

This is something I didn't expect. I thought we were the only ones here. but it turns out there are other people here. this is even a village with a very realistic-looking life. what if we explore further into this land, will we find a country?

"uhm I guess we should report all this." it looks like Fadil is still surprised to see this village, his pupils keep moving watching this busy village life, I think he is confused about where he is. real world or in a game? this game always surprises us.

"But, everything looks interesting, so... why don't we go around for a while?" I calmed him down, while glancing right and left. "But I want to find out what's in the center."

Vivi, a girl known for her curiosity, chuckled and took her steps to start entering the village. "We can explore every path and then report it to our friends, isn't that better? Who knows, we might find something interesting."

So we decided to explore the village before heading back to the villa and sharing our findings with the others. They would be surprised to see this, I think. Every corner of the village was full of charm and a big question mark. "Who are they? Staff from the game acting as villagers? or a non-player character?" the question kept spinning in my head. we passed through the bustling small market, seeing vendors selling strange items that I had never seen before.

Seeing the villagers doing their activities so naturally that I forgot it was only in the game. Smiling, I said, "Gosh, their acting is outstanding."

"Acting? Aren't they NPCs?" Vivi replied while continuing to speed up her pace, Vivi looked like a little girl who had just walked into a toy store. she was the most enthusiastic here, she always threw a smile at the villagers who were busy with their respective activities.

"That seems impossible, their behavior is very similar to real people. Look at that." Fadil said pointing to a fruit seller who was selling it.

Suddenly, 'careless' Vivi approached the fruit seller. He was selling fruits that we didn't know what they were called, but the one that caught our attention the most was a bright white fruit with a look like a pear.

Excitedly, she tapped the vendor on the shoulder and asked, "Hey sir! What is this fruit?"

The man, with a friendly smile, answered in great detail.

"Packed with touching softness, this Klaher fruit is a truly marvelous work of nature. The deep purple color resembles twilight on the western horizon, giving it an irreplaceable sense of wonder. The texture is soft on the fingertips as if embracing its natural warmth.

When it first touches the lips, our tongues are greeted by an extraordinary combination, this fresh fruit seems to combine the softness of grapes with the fresh acidity of oranges. The lingering sensation left on the tongue is like a dance of flavors that takes us on a journey through lush orange fields...." He explains the color, texture, taste, and even the origin of the fruit with such depth that even a botanist would be amazed at what this fruit vendor has to say.

However, the longer we listened to the man's explanation, the more suspicious we became. he didn't seem like a normal human being. he glanced at me and Fadil with erratic and repetitive glances. To make sure my suspicions were correct, I asked another question about the village.

"I heard this village has a long history. Can you tell me more about it?"

The man swiftly answered Vivi's questions with a detailed and complete story, as if he had memorized the scenario. Every detail, every character, everything we didn't know, unraveled so smoothly and with great clarity.

"First of all, thank you for your interest in the history of this village. Our village, called Sejara, has deep and mysterious roots. Legend has it that the village was founded by ancient heroes who sought sanctuary from the chaos of the outside world. They brought with them wisdom and mystical powers that made the village thrive.

One of the central figures in our history is King Armandus, a wise leader who led the village through difficult times. He was known as a unifying and just leader. In the golden age of Sejara, the village became a center of trade and wisdom, attracting people from all over to build a new life.

and, blah... blah..." so much that I didn't care what this man said anymore.

Suddenly, Fadil smiled sarcastically. "Alright, last question sir... What is this fruit?"

The man, without blinking, answered in the same detail as before. His eyes didn't blink, and his smile didn't change, as if he was a machine set to repeat the same answer.

I take my words back they don't look human. For a few moments, we all exchanged questioning glances. Something unusual was happening in this village. I guess all these villagers were just non-player characters, like in a video game.

"Shit... he looks like a goddamn robot guys! Yeah but at least he understands our language." Vivi whispered while looking at the man who was smiling widely, it looked creepy.

"Are you a robot?"

"No I'm not a robot, I'm Robert Sellers." The man again answered with the same details as before. His eyes did not blink, his smile did not change, and the movement of his pupils had the same pattern.

"How about this?"

Slap!!!

Vivi unexpectedly slapped the man's face very loudly.
