Chapter 14:

Emergency Meeting

My Weird Internship

With a strong determination, we started approaching other villagers, asking questions about the village and observing each reaction. And as expected, every villager gave the same detailed answers, without a hint of hesitation or improvisation.

We took turns to ask questions, trying different ways to test the regularity and consistency of the answers. But the result was always the same: every villager gave the exact same answer. No doubt they were NPCs in this game.

After spending a few hours in the village, we then decided to return to the villa. I'm sure that the guys in the villa would be surprised as fuck by all of this. When we got to the Villa, we felt very calm. We had just returned from a "mysterious village", and had made a world-shaking discovery... (only our world, actually).

As we stepped into the Villa, without further ado, we immediately looked for Mike, he was the perfect person to give us our first surprise. Who knows, because this class has some assholes who probably wouldn't believe what we found.

We found him relaxing in the living room, along with his hot chocolate

"Mike, call an emergency meeting immediately!" I said loudly.

"Jeez, calm down cowboy, why should I do that?" Mike took a sip of his hot chocolate.

"We just found something," said Vivi with her eyes wide open with excitement.

"Oh yeah?"

"The NPCs in this world are real!!!" I said that important point out loud

"hmm... that's a bit surprising. well, let's assemble."

Hearing the information from us, Mike immediately gathered all the classmates in the living room. At that time, the Sun was almost sinking on the horizon, giving a deep magical feel to the atmosphere of the villa.

After a while, everyone had gathered in the living room. I only saw faces full of curiosity and wonder as to why they had gathered again.

"We have something to tell you guys," I said.

"It better be something important Vin. You've ruined my Golden Hour!!!" Zane said with his eyebrows knitted together and veins visible on his neck.

"Yeah right, f**k you!!!" Rudy added his middle finger.

Why am I the one to blame?

Hearing all those threats, with a voice full of conviction. Me, Fadil, and Vivi took turns recounting our experiences in the mysterious village, with every detail we observed and felt, about how they explained the common answers and the uniformity of their answers.

"We have concluded that this is not just another virtual reality game, it's all true!!! Everything the bald man said is true!!! This is an amazing game" Fadil said in a firm voice.

We started discussing. Different voices mingled, trying to piece together pieces of information into a more complete picture.

Finally, Zane, a teenager who was always skeptical, shook his head. "This is too weird to believe. How could they possibly make such realistic NPCs?"

Vivi firmly spoke, "Zane!!! Come on, do you doubt the evidence we see and feel? Everything we experienced in the village was really real. I even beat up some of them and they just smiled."

"Hahaha, you're crazy as usual."

Mike, who had been silently listening, finally spoke up. "I think we need to investigate this further. If indeed this is something extraordinary, then we should endeavor to do our job properly. But it seems like we're still not sure about these 3 of them. So, what if we all go to that village?"
